Soft spoken Lennox Lewis at his best was the total package. The last undisputed Heavyweight champion emerged as cream of the crop against some of the biggest punchers in Heavyweight history. Lennox avenged his only two defeats by knockout. He didn't make excuses for his losses, he said, *"It's Heavyweights, you can get caught, but i won the rematches in style,"* and *"Show me a Heavyweight champion without a loss and i'll show you a fighter that fought a lot of nobodies."*
In my opinion 59 year old Lennox Lewis is the GOAT. To hear him talk so clearly and eloquently after going up against 18 Heavyweight Champions is remarkable.
The 18 HW Champions Lewis faced: *Vitali Klitschko, Evander Holyfield, Mike Tyson, Shannon Briggs, Frank Bruno, Tony Tucker, Hasim Rahman, Oliver McCall, Mike Weaver, Henry Akinwande, Tommy Morrison and Ray Mercer were later recognized as WBO champions, British HW champion Gary Mason, European HW champion Jean Chanet, Commonwealth HW champion Derek Williams, Canada HW champion Razor Ruddock, IBF/WBF HW champion Michael Grant and WBC International HW champion David Tua* [[ technically not all were 'World' champions but champions nonetheless ]] *Other notable mentions; Olympic HW Silver medalist Riddick Bowe, Olympic HW Gold medalist Tyrell Briggs, Andrew Golota, Zeljko Mavrovic, Frans Botha and Phil Jackson.*

EXCELLENT, SUPERB analysis and one that I have been echoing for quite some time now. Lennox came from across the pond and conquered the best heavyweights the United States had to offer. The 90s had some of the best heavyweights out of ANY era And I would wager that big hitters like Razor Ruddock, Tyson, Mercer, Tua, Bowe, and top flight boxers like Holyfield and Tony “ TNT “Tucker would beat the contenders That everyone speaks so brightly of from the 70s. Lewis ducked no one and he is the only heavyweight champion who defeated every man in front of him sans any controversy or special conditions or without his opponent being handicapped. He beat them all and avenged his only two losses in emphatic fashion leaving NO DOUBTS As to his superiority over that era. I have Lennox in my top three all time heavyweight champions right there with Ali and Larry Holmes.

Lennox Lewis is possibly the best heavyweight ever. He doesn't get the recognition he deserves because he's not a loud. flamboyant personality. But in the ring he was an absolute master of his craft. Another great fighter that didn't get the recognition he deserved was Larry Holmes. At his peak he was the best. He would take his time and absolutely pick his opponents apart. He ended up losing a few fights but that was because he stuck around too long after his skills had diminished. But at his peak there was no one better.

The irony with Lewis-Holyfield 1 is that Lennox gave Fury the blueprint for how a good big guy beats a good small one. The secret I think was to master the range and use his reach. Fury seemed much more keen on dropping his hands so low that they provided no obstacle to Usyk coming in and meant he, the giant, was always and bizarrely punching upwards. If you remember whenever Holyfield came in he ran into a torrent of long, straight, heavy punches which kept pushing him back or upper cuts which almost knocked his head off.
Of course you can’t blame Fury for having only average punching power whereas Lewis was exceptional, but I do blame him for not conditioning himself well enough to throw lots of hard punches throughout. How can a respected, world champion boxer have a body like that?

it wont be any fun at all watching a 48 year old klitchko fighting a 36 year old fury, same as it was not any fun watching mike tyson fighting jake paul. i dont want to watch any boxer over the age of 40. unless he's on a roll like bernhard hopkins was. i also think that the fight between usyk and fury could be another fix , same as the wilder trilogy. and that it might be in the script for fury to win this fight no 2. after agreeing to lose the first match. i would like to be proven wrong, if that's possible these days.
