    Finally a nice overview of the laser engraving process! I have been waiting for a straight forward demo video and this is great! I can't wait to get my Snapmaker A350 in April! I just wish it was sooner! I can't wait to get started!

    This tutorial is clear, but the other one (using camera capture mode) doesn't seem to let you do the same as easily as this.. which is a pity, camera capture could be a lot more convenient!

    So much is skipped here. When I send the file via wifi and accept it on the machine, it says START or Adjust Settings. If you click adjust settings, I see work speed 100% and power 100%. What does this even mean? A % of the settings I chose in Luban file setup? I set the jog to 3000 and work to 2000 and power to 80% in Luban. Are the settings now ignored? From the video, it shows the job projected onto the wood? How do I enable THAT? Or is that added in post edit of the video? How to center the laser to the bed? Does material thickness add to the Z work coordinate as set in Luban Workspace? Is this not a thing if the file is sent via wifi? As I see it, the Workspace totally ignores all settings chosen in the setup phase but a Manual setup can have be put the laser module where I want it and the machine totally ignores material height and laser calibration height. This needs to be a 60 minute video.

    @Snapmaker Just purchased one of these, and wondered what the actual cutting depth was for the laser (haven't got the 10w so just the basic laser). Also what materials can it cut?

    • @Snapmaker
      @Snapmaker  2 года назад

      Maximum Cutting Depth:1.5 mm Basswood
      You can engrave on dozens of materials like plywood, leather, fabric, acrylic, bamboo, MDF, hardwood, cardboard, paper, and even food like cookies! For laser cutting, you can cut through cardboard, plywood, acrylic, and other materials with similar properties.

    So, I just got my Snapmaker, and I'm just learning. The website says this can cut and engrave acrylic, but also says that it can't do things that are transparent. I've got colored transparent acrylic. I want to make fun images on the acrylic like picture of my art, but I'm not sure how to prepare the material. It comes covered in a brown paper, do I need to remove it? Do I need to need to cut it first, then engrave? Can I do both at the same time? Is there a place that has a good overview of this type of thing?

    • @Snapmaker
      @Snapmaker  3 года назад

      Hi. Here is suggestion:
      1. cut the acrylic using CNC function, as the 1.6 W laser module can hardly cut through colored transparent acrylic
      2. remove the paper on the front side (that faces the laser module)
      3. Start engraving
      You can check this for more info about the parameter setting: support.snapmaker.com/hc/en-us/articles/360019025954-The-Definitive-Guide-to-Laser-Engraving-and-Cutting-with-the-Snapmaker

    Hi. The machine fails to do the multiple line calibration everytime I run it. The camera can't recognize the best line and I need to insert it manualy. What can I do? And which line is better? More thick, more thin? @snapmaker

    • @Snapmaker
      @Snapmaker  3 года назад

      Hi Pau, you can try calibrating the camera first by going to Settings > Laser > Camera Calibration, and see whether the laser module can recognize the engraved lines. If not, there might be something wrong with the camera. You can contact our support team: support@snapmaker.com for help. For now you can select the thinnest line to finish calibration manually.

      Hi! We used a post effect at 4:31 in order to make it clear how "work origin" works. So we don't have such a function on Snapmaker 2.0 now. You could roughly see where the image is by using "Run Boundary" when you preview you project, see 4:41.

      @@Snapmaker high frequency lasers (193nm Excimer) blue/ violet cut with an extremely clean cut. Lower frequency lasers (red) cut (plastic) creating a melt zone
      The zone can be likened to a lip of material (undesirable). The light frequency determines the amount of energy that gets imparted into the cut. You can literally see material particulates getting puffed out of the cut with the high freq laser cuts. While the lower freq cut creates melt for cutting. Hope this helps. @@nicoladevries4555 So according to you glasses protect against radiation? The laser is strong light (same as sun), which means that if it hits your eyes it will damage the cells receiving the light (same as looking into the sun during solar eclipse). So if the light doesn't reach the eye, because it is absorbed or dispersed, then you are fine.

      Hello Michael. Have you updated your Luban software to the latest version? Normally, if the machine is connected to your computer via Wi-Fi, you could control the enclosure in the Work Space of Luban at any time. If you don't connect machine with computer and operate completely on the machine touchscreen, you can't turn on the fan during laser setup. But you can turn it on after the laser starts working, by swiping to the left on the touchscreen and selecting the enclosure tab.
