What a reality check. You stating that puppies and kittens need to stay with their mothers for at least eight weeks, yet these babies are often taken away immediately was such an eye opener. It's truly heartbreaking.
I know several well adjusted adults who were adopted at birth. They formed very strong early bonds with loving parents. I don't think in the case of humans it gets better to separate them after time goes by? Aside from early breastfeeding, but that's a whole other topic and many moms never do breastfeed.
Accidental pregnancy happens so often to women who would not make good moms. Adoption is a much better alternative to abortion.
I am so glad you are bold enough to speak out on surrogacy and IVF. You are spot on when you say this is something for us to mourn and pray about. I am adopted, and that came with its own set of challenges. I would not be speaking to my parents if they had paid my mom to abandon me. That pain alone was hard enough.
Yes, it is very bold constantly attacking other people and their families. She can talk about surrogacy and IVF without constantly slandering specific individuals. And anyway, her words have 0 impact on Colton or any other person for that matter. Surrogacy is legal. If you wanna stop it, take it to the courts.
I loved the part about the study of what the baby's cells do for the mom and vice versa. I lost a baby almost 7 years ago and I love that part of her is still with me even though she's with Jesus.
Before I was saved, I did IVF, because I could not seem to conceive. It failed a couple of times, I was devastated. Then I finally got pregnant. Fast forward to 18 weeks, when I found out my baby was a girl, I also found out she was missing part of her brain as well as SEVERE down syndrome. It effected EVERY organ in her body. During the whole IVF process, I did question if it was morally right. In that moment, of finding out about my daughter, it all hit me. I played God. I created a life, and somewhere in the mix, she was grotesquely injured. To this day, I find it very hard to forgive myself. I KNOW in my heart, I did this to her with IVF. Thank you for speaking on these issues.
I'm so, so sorry. Even though you did a thing you probably shouldn't have -- you didn't know. You had no idea. Please don't beat yourself up for something you couldn't have foreseen because you had no idea & were intentionally misinformed by the authority/expert figures in the situation, too. You meant well. And sure, that doesn't fix it, I'm just saying, it's not like you knew & just did it anyway, you didn't know. God bless you & your daughter. Did she survive & if so, how is she doing & how are you doing? I hope you're as okay as you can be. ❤

I'm so sorry that you went through all of that heartbreak. But please know that God's grace is for you!! And honestly, most of us would have done exactly what you did had we been in your shoes. I know that prior to about a year ago and learning more about IVF, I never thought anything was wrong with it and would definitely have explored it if given the opportunity.
Redemption is what God does and who He is. He can take the worst mistakes and STILL use them for our good and his glory. In fact he promises to cause all things to work together for the good of those who love him! ❤

My adopted son was born to a mom who was high and received no prenatal care. He was addicted, and immediately went through withdrawls not only from the drugs, but from his mother. She left the hospital and never came back. He is now almost 5 years old, and I can tell you this: he some weird attachment issue - always wanting to know where I am at all times. If I go to another room for a task he'll call out to make sure I'm still there. We still have to use a monitor for his bedtime because he often calls out to make sure we're watching him. He attaches himself to us in these ways that aren't quite normal for his age. And I am CERTAIN it is because he came out of the womb, was immediately sent to the NICU (he had other medical issues that needed care too), was never placed back with his mom, never received nourishment from her, and was only held after his skin allowed people to touch him again (at least a week). So he went from comfort and "safety" to this sudden cold, alone, and pain from his withdrawals. It is no wonder he can't let us out of his sight. Babies are designed to need their mothers and their brains form in all kinds of ways in those first few days.
The lack of human touch in those early days is very damaging. Keeping twins together in ICU has been shown to help them flourish.
It's more the abandonment of ANY human, than the abandonment of the mom per se. Babies in ICU would just as easily experience abandonment issues even if both parents are in the picture. You're child is fortunate to have you over a drug addicted mom in the big picture. 🙏
This makes me physically sick every time I see it. My heart breaks for this child who is being trafficked and denied his mother.

This is sad, but there is also a growing trend out there called “single mom by choice.”
Women are going through IVF, purchasing donor sperm to start a family. These children are being born into fatherless homes.

Hand maids tales depicts this so well. When the baby who was about to die with no hope was given back to the mother and the baby makes a miraculous recovery.
It is vital for babies to have their mothers.
They also show very well on the mother’s side how traumatic it is to be ripped away from your baby. Your brain is rewired for your time with the infant.

I remember researching this 20 years ago and knew something was wrong with the process but no one was talking about it like this. I’m glad this is being talked about so at least more people are aware of what the process is. I looked into it recently again when my husband and I were trying to get pregnant at 42 years old and after going to doctors who said there was nothing wrong with us but due to my age I should do IVF to rush the process. I felt convicted it was wrong and needed to place in Gods hands. I backed off going to fertility doctors because it felt like such a financial interaction and like God was involved in the process. I had 4 sons in my 20s and gave birth to a healthy baby girl 8 months ago. I can only give God the glory! God had told me I would have a daughter and when it didn’t happen for 15 years I tried to take in my own hands but was so convicted not to do IVF. God came through in his timing. We now have a 21, 19, 17, 15 year old and 8 month old ❤ And it feels perfect for our family. The boys love their baby sister and she is teaching us all so much 🤲 Speak truth sister! 🎉

I only recently started understanding the potential ramifications of IVF. My best friend and her husband struggled with infertility for years but couldn’t justify IVF precisely because of the cascading effects you mentioned! They ended up choosing to do embryo adoption and had an amazing experience. They’re going for their second transfer this summer after welcoming a beautiful girl in 2022. It’s such a great way to care for those babies who otherwise might remain on ice indefinitely, and I think many people don’t even realize it’s an option. They went through the National Embryo Donation Center in Knoxville, a Christian organization that specializes in this adoption process. Both the biological and adoptive parents essentially have to approve of each other, and adoptive parents go through all the stipulations of a normal adoption process as well. It would be really cool if you had someone like this on the show to talk about their experience and increase awareness about this way to redeem an imperfect situation!
I love that you talk about how your baby immediately stopped crying once on your chest. I specifically remember my daughter being born (I have 3 children and she is the most recent one) and she was crying so loudly and when she was placed on my chest, she immediately stopped! She knew me and was comforted by me. I just held her and kissed her head and spoke to her and she was completely calm. No one could do that except for me. I was her home and comfort.
I have seen multiple stories about gay men adopting or having babies with a surrogate and they were sexually abusing the children. That's why it is almost always a boy. So tragic and disgusting.

Thank you for sharing the commentary about mother-to-child cell migration. While I was pregnant with my daughter, I had undiagnosed Celiac Disease and had been experiencing severe gastrointestinal symptoms before I became pregnant. While I was pregnant, my symptoms went away for the most part and returned with a vengeance post-delivery. When she was almost a year old, I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease. Since then, I have often pondered the possibility that my daughter was helping me with gluten digestion while in the womb. I've never had proof of this, but this study certainly gives me cause to believe in the plausibility of my ponderings. Thank you for all that you study, research, and share, Allie. It is much appreciated!

My youngest baby was an embryo donation. The most sweetest, most wonderful child. We love him so so much. He was anonymously donated. He is a true miracle. He had been on ice for a few years & the clinic told us that if we did not want him then they go down the list of families waiting for a donated child. If no one chooses the embryo then it gets destroyed 😢. We can’t ever imagine that.

That's what your take away is after watching his podcast? I am a retired nurse and I am learning so much about infertility for both men and women. He has many medical experts in the podcast to sound the warning bell about the rise of infertility around the world. He looked like a healthy person but he was infertile. Many people suffer in silence from these issues. He is using his platform to educate those who are open to this information about the issue of infertility and what can be done for the people who suffer from this disorder....Dear God grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change. My husband and I underwent IVF because I had so much scar tissue from previous surgeries. I could not conceive. My previous surgeries or from my childhood. I'm very thankful for IVF or elsewise we wouldn't have our 15 yo daughter who is such a blessing from God.

Allie, I know you like to be presise with your words. Open adoption is very common in the last few decades. In open adoption, when a birthmother or birthparents choose the parents for her/ their child the phrase is placed for adoption (with the adoptive parents) not put up for adoption.
I PLACED my son for adoption almost 34 years ago.
I always envision someone putting a child on a shelf to be picked out with the phrase put up for abortion, whereas I lovingly picked out (with God's help) my sons parents..

I have question but I also have a disclaimer: I am not an advocate of surrogacy. That said, my question is: how is surrogacy different from a couple adopting a newborn child from a woman who has pre-determined that she cannot raise the child and wanted to relinquish her rights at the time of birth? Just a question so that I can have an answer to those that ask. Thanks for your time.
One major difference that Allie points out is that with adoption, the mother finds herself pregnant and unable to care for the child. The baby is placed with a family and the best is made of a hard situation (and adoption is such a beautiful picture of what our Heavenly Father does for us). With IVF/surrogacy, the child is purposely created and paid for with the full knowledge that it will be separated from its biological and its birth mother.
Hi :) there are multiple reasons
A. Adoption is redemptive… the situation is already broken and the adoptive family essentially makes the situation better versus surrogacy creating a wound in the first place
B. Surrogacy is essentially commercialized and socially acceptable (in the US) exploitation of (often) underprivileged women
C. Children deserve to know their mother and father. Just because this child will have two dads doesn’t mean the mother does not exist.
It is true: you do have to be careful with adoption agencies -- especially international ones where the base cost will be $30 K (probably more now.) You do want to make sure the mother of the infant you are adopting is wanting and choosing to place her child for adoption, rather than being tricked or forced. The difference is this:
1) As it was already said: in adoption the situation is already broken for some reason. The idea of adoption (not to say it can't go wrong) is adoptive parents offer the baby a home to do what is best for the infant given the situation VS creating a broken situation so adults can have what they want.
2) US Infant adoption agencies are now highly encouraging adoptive parents to seek "open adoption" whenever possible so the infant and the adoptive parents maintain a relationship with the biological ones, so the child can know the mother who gave them birth, even though he/she isn't living with them VS the child is put in a situation where asking about their biological parents is taboo.
The key here is this: children of all ages and sizes should not be bought and sold in any way, by surrogacy or adoption, period. Adults should be thinking about what is good for children, not about what they want.

She talked about that. Adoption is an imperfect solution to a broken situation (a child can’t be raised by his or her biological parents, for a variety of reasons). Surrogacy intentionally creates the broken situation. A child is conceived with the intention of taking him or her away from the birth mother from the start.

I listened to this today and have been cuddling and loving on my 9 month old third baby girl all day because of it. Just so happy that she has a mom and dad, she was naturally conceived and birthed by me, I am so happy I am giving her the absolute best normal life I can and it’s nice to be validated in that 🥲 it’s literally a joy to be with her today, after hearing the horrors of surrogacy and how it depraves innocent babies of so many things/moments with their biological parents 😢

I'm sorry if you've gotten the impression that Protestants are anti-Mary. We understand how highly favored she was (words straight from Gabriel's mouth). I suppose you could say that we see her as so incredibly favored because she was, after all, just an ordinary young woman when God chose her. Her Magnificat is so lovely and humble, exalting God--she would only want glory and honor for Him and for Jesus Christ, not for herself. We can hold her up as a wonderful example of trusting obedience and a precious reminder of how the King of Kings humbled Himself by coming into the world through the womb of a simple girl.
K, that’s probably the nicest thing I’ve heard a Protestant say about Mary haha. So thank you. It really disturbs me to hear people say “she’s just a dead person.” The first time I heard a Protestant person say that I was completely shocked.

@@Gardenwork-wi7zy Lots of people love to troll Christian channels to declare the host and their followers to be "bigoted", when they in fact are the true bigots... against Christians and the truth that is in God's word, and anyone who believes differently than themselves. It's very hypocritical. It's sad how deceived these trolls really are, and we are called to pray for them.
