Hi 👋 Rhi daddy Bella Zara William Dylan too awesome 🤩 video as always first stop is going to Covent Garden on the London Underground 🚊 dining reservation at the theatre 🎭 cafe/diner it was an amazing 😻 experience next stop is to see wicked 🧙♀️ I’d love to go to the theatre 🎭 cafe and I’d really love to see wicked can’t wait 😜 to see the new London vlog soon
This was amazing I love the theatre haven't been to London for a while I worked there for a while covent garden is brilliant and cafe was amazing definitely need to go there 🤗💞
I was in London this weekend just gone. We went to the theatre café diner and I agree it was fantastic, and the staff weren't just fabulous singers but all so friendly!
@@MummyofFourUK yes I’ve been just looking at the website. It sounds amazing. Going to try and book it for my birthday next year or even July next year as we need to feel sometime in July when we’re in London. Hope you and the family are doing well. X
Wicked is one of my favourite musicals! So glad you had an amazing time💚 I’m currently binging your videos so sorry for the random comments that will pop up😂
How much time was your reservation for and sort of time in the afternoon would you recommend if I was going to a evening show at 7.30pm any advice would be great
I LOVED The Wizard of Oz when I was little, though I've never seen 'Wicked'. Will would be at the right age to read the 'oz' books actually; there's a series of them and the sequel to the movie 'Return to Oz' is based on the second and third books. Its on Disney+ if the kids would like to watch it, though it is a bit scary in parts. 'Oz, the Great and Powerful is on there as well and I think its also based on a book. When I was in upper sixth my school decided that the musical (the first in several years due to budget constraints) would be 'The Wizard of Oz' (the principal or the VP made the decision, weirdly, and I think that one was chosen because the vice-principal owned a cairn terrier so she wanted her dog to be Toto, that ended up backfiring as she was too shy and terrified of the lights and sounds so we ended up using the girl playing Dorothy's King Charles Caviller Spaniel, which worked better) Since I was doing A Level Preforming Arts as a director I got to act as assistant director and direct a few scenes myself (specifically the scene immediately after the Witch of the West captures Dorothy, the one with the crystal ball) and since I was actually more familiar with it than my teacher; who was acting as director; I was constantly being pestered about small details. (like whether certain characters needed to be cast from the chorus or as definitive roles) It was actually a lot more technically complex than you'd think since it has a lot of specific lighting and sound requirements (the tornado scene was not fun and required a flashing lights warning), single use props (like Professor Marvel's wagon, or 'the legs', my classmate was doing stage management and he was pulling his hair out keeping track of the props) and don't get me started on the number of quick changes required. We ended up combining the roles of the Winkies and the flying monkeys, cutting the 'poppy scene' and a particularly long choreographed number called 'the jitterbug, which was also cut from the movie, there's some footage of that scene on You Tube somewhere simply because it wasn't physically possible with our stage set up to co-ordinate so many whilst still adhering to child protection policies, the poor winkies had to crawl under the stage after the 'Merry old land of Oz' scene as everybody exited the wrong side for them to be able to safely quick change. (we ended up having a 'boys' and 'girls' side for the crew and for quick changes due to child protection) We also split the roles of Miss Gulch and The Wicked Witch of the West, Auntie Em and Glinda, Uncle Henry and the Emerald City Guard and WOZ and Professor Marvel to minimise the number required and give out more roles. There was a running joke that Dorothy was headed for a 'looney bin' since we added in a bit of improv to a scene when Professor Marvel and Uncle Henry find Dorothy so that 'the trio' had a bit of extra time to quick change and every show Dorothy ended up sounding more and more deranged! It was a fun experience but boy it was stressful, major respect to anybody who does it as a job. I'm not great with heights myself and always opt for the 'stalls' if I go to the theatre (unless its in a 'black box' theatre, which is much smaller, 'proscenium arch' theatres are always a bit tricky if they've tiered seating) or at minimum 'dress circle'. I don't know whether its to do with fine motor skills since I'm autistic and probably dyspraxic but I don't like sitting high up in a theatre. I once went on a school trip to see 'Blood Brothers' in 'The Grand Opera House' in Belfast and we were sat in the 'Gods'; I HATED the experience since it was really hard to see the stage and if I leaned forward to try to see better I felt like I was going to fall over the railing. I went to see 'Les Ballets Trocaderos de Monte Carlo' at the same venue the other week and made sure to be in the stalls (also way cheaper) and it was much more pleasant. The only time I'd recommend sitting higher up would be if you went to see a panto of 'Peter Pan' as when I went as a child and sat in the dress circle, there was a scene where the audience got to throw foam 'rocks' at the pirates, it was more fun being higher up as you were able to gather up and throw the 'rocks' that the upper circle and gods hadn't a hope of getting near the stage. I'm glad the children enjoyed their first theatre experience.
Really loved this vlog, just wondering if Will might like the Underground game for Christmas as he loves that kind of Knowledge, he would probably win. Possibly a bit too difficult ult for the girls yet. My adult children enjoyed the original game that came out in the 90s, it is out of date now.
This is amazing, my children love Musical Theatre, I have a Star in the making who is studying Music and performing arts, She has autism and is so talented x
You might want to answer this question on your main channel, but I wasn't sure which one to post it on now. I recently was made aware that there is a law, I don't know how different it is in each individual part of the UK, now in the UK for a number of years that makes it basically illegal to take children out of school without express permission from the teacher or school administration. Some people say this is to prevent parents just taking their kids out of school to get cheaper vacations by going at off-peak times instead of when school is let out. Do you really pay a fine in Wales when you go on your trips every time or do they always give you permission and you never have to pay? I can understand the law as school in the UK is based on a different metric of measuring how students have learned and it's more focused as children get older, so you'd miss things you can't make up for that wouldn't' quite matter so much in the US system. I just found it very interesting to learn of a law like this.
It was half term for this trip, meaning they weren't in school anyway. It really varies county by county and even school by school as to whether permission is granted for days off during term time x
I’m not sure that restaurant is for me. I love the Hard Rock Cafe thou and have stayed in the hotel. Your husband may like that if he’s into music. I love London we live quite close in Essex. Xxxxx.
Loved the vlog! You captured the Theatre Cafe Diner so well, too! Looking forward to checking it out soon :) Glad you all enjoyed Wicked x

I think it's great if you're into musicals, not much good if you're not 😂
@@MummyofFourUK no. Lol. X
Did you tell the girls that the original Elphaba is Elsa? 💚
I told them that she gifted her voice to Elsa using Disney magic. I then had to explain that it's not like Ursula and Ariel and she could still talk 😂
@@MummyofFourUK I love that explanation!! Keeping the magic alive x
Question can you please do more 4k content? I love the quality
Now I've experimented with the settings i will. Do you find it's really noticeable?
