Why didn't you disconnect the battery before upgrade the hardware. Dell service manual says it is one of the important step. You are upgrading the hardware while it's connecting to the power souce. I hope this helps to anyone. Anyway this is a very good tutorial. cheers

Thank you for this video. I bought the 5567 and upgraded the internal hard drive to a 480gb ssd drive. It's truly amazing how much faster the machine is now! 👍
Disconnecting the harddrive from the SATA connector is the hardest part for me actually because it would just be stuck. Broke my cable during the repair but was glad that it is still able to work
Like you simple technique of lining up the case screws for the different sizes and location. Great video showing how to get inside the machine. Thank you.
A pain to take all those screws out but at least you don't have to detach the LCD screen to get to everything. I was able to test that I attached the MB cables back correctly for the SSD I installed before putting it back together. Initially it wasn't reading detecting it on boot. Very helpful video. Thanks!
Had the pleasure of experiencing this tear down myself last night. I installed a 1080p matte screen - as the 720p shiny screen wasn't cutting it for me. Fortunately, separating the actual screen bezel from the casing wasn't remotely as hard as separating the bottom from the main chassis.
A useful video. I was able to open my Inspiron 5770 17" laptop thanks to it; the case of my laptop looked exactly like this one, the screws were at the same places, and it opened just like in the video. (I was installing an M.2 SSD drive.)
Thank you so much. You explained everything very well and I was able to change my memory for the first time ever. The only thing I would ask is to add powering it on and making sure you hit continue when the warning comes up that the memory has been changed. I hope that was what I had to do.. BTW I didn't take my battery out and my laptop is working great.
Why do they make the battery so difficult to replace when its the first thing of the laptop that needs replacement after a year of use ? Copying from service manual: Prerequisites 1 Remove the optical drive. 2 Remove the base cover. 3 Remove the I/O board. 4 Remove the hard drive.
Thank you so much for the video. Didn't know the plastic cover has to pried off. Managed to get it off by hand. Somehow, I lost a screw when installing it back. 😁

Does the RAM upgrade require any sort of setup when the machine boots or are these type of upgrades all plug and play? Your video makes this sort of operation look very straightforward!
Good news is that it's 1 x 8GB rather than 2 x 4GB. So I just need to get another 8GB RAM board and it's then maxed out for memory. An awful lot of screws. No room for 2 SDDs so external SDD is backup. Then image the primary drive in the backup and create a backup script to update the backup every hour and push the changes up to the web server archive. Could also use an M-disk in the optical drive for important data. 3-2-1 almost.
thanks for the video. i was stupid enough to offer a neighbour a hand in upgrading their laptop. I'm not used to working on cheap and nasty laptops which this invariably is. I would have been stuck trying to open it without your guide. Although I did manage to cut myself for my troubles
I had to replace the power jack on mine. You need to actually remove the motherboard to be able to get to it. I was able to figure it all out though and get it back together.

You commented in the start that you were going to upgrade to dual channel memory, but you added one and left existing memory. Is one dual channel and one single now?
Dual channel means installing a matching specification DIMM on each memory channel - each slot is attached to a different channel, so you want a DIMM installed on each to give full performance.
Upgrading to Kingston A400 SATA3 2.5" Internal SSD to drive bay and moving the original 1TB 5400 RPM SATA hybrid drive to the DVD Drive chamber using a 9.5mm caddy adapter. SSD to improve performance and I wanna utilize the 1TB drive for storage. Is this doable for Dell Inspiron 15 5567?
Hello sir I'd like to ask. If I do open this laptop by myself. Will it void the warranty? or no? I wanted to see the inside of my laptop (same model, i7 Kabylake with R7 M445) and clean it. I just don't want to void the warranty (which will expire next year. Which is still a long time ahead) Thanks for the vid and nice works sir!
You should always assume that by opening the laptop you are going to void the warranty. That said I don't recall any specific warranty stickers or seals on my example, so if you're careful and use soft plastic pry tools it should be possible to open it up without any obvious signs that you have done so, but I can't take any responsibility for damage or loss of warranty.
I did open it and left some dents on it (which I kind of regret) But a colleague of mine assured me that I won't be having any problems in terms of warranty as long as I don't replace anything yet nor ruined anything inside the laptop (rams and such) I'm confident that they'll still honor the warranty despite some dents because I haven't done anything that would cause the laptop to malfunction.

The 3 little screws below the cd drive are stuck, only one came out the other 2 seem to start getting stripped Plus when I inserted the pry tool on the back edge and slightly started separating the plastic, the plastic was getting bitten and deformed ... is there a specific way to do all this without compromising the aesthetics?
I upgraded my 5565 form Amazon to a 512 SSD and a great little UHD Blu Ray ODD...then it died 24 hours later. Every time I so much as TOUCH the power adaptor to the laptop power port, the green light on the adaptor (brick) goes off. WHAT THE HECK ! Is this one of the infamous DELL power issues they had a few years back? I thought they got that fixed !!! Any ideas how to fix this power issue...can't charge the battery, laptop won't run now. ANY help or ideas would be helpful before I send this to DELL for $$$ NON-Warranty work.

Hi! I am having the same laptop, do you have any experience with dual boot windows 10 - Ubuntu, because I have a problem?
can i upgrade processor of my dell inspiron 5567 laptop plz tell me
Only by replacing the mainboard.
Should be if you have a optical drive in your laptop, yes.
Can we add 8 GB RAM into dell 5567?
Hello sir
I'd like to ask.
If I do open this laptop by myself. Will it void the warranty? or no?
I wanted to see the inside of my laptop (same model, i7 Kabylake with R7 M445)
and clean it. I just don't want to void the warranty (which will expire next year. Which is still a long time ahead)
Thanks for the vid and nice works sir!
I did open it and left some dents on it (which I kind of regret)
But a colleague of mine assured me that I won't be having any problems in terms of warranty as long as I don't replace anything yet nor ruined anything inside the laptop (rams and such)
I'm confident that they'll still honor the warranty despite some dents because I haven't done anything that would cause the laptop to malfunction.
Hi,
i have a dell inspiron 15 5000 series 5567 model (Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7200U CPU @ 2.50GHz, 2701 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)).
It only has 4GB ram and i want to add another 8GB.
You think it will hold 12 GB?
Thank you for your respose
Should work fine.
What RAM you used? Any links or description might get more likes.
This model support M2 ?
No, 2.5" SATA only.
My Dell laptop is Dell Inspiron 15 5567 Intel Core I3-7100u. What are the upgrades I'm going to do? I hope you answer this. Thank you :D
If keys got damaged how can we changeit ?
What SSD should I buy? or how can I make sure it will be compatible?
2.5 sata ssd 7mm thickness
The 3 little screws below the cd drive are stuck, only one came out the other 2 seem to start getting stripped
Plus when I inserted the pry tool on the back edge and slightly started separating the plastic, the plastic was getting bitten and deformed ... is there a specific way to do all this without compromising the aesthetics?
What single upgrade is most important to make this laptop faster for video editing? Is it upgrading it to SSD? I bought this laptop in 16gb ram only for that function but it's slow!
Depends somewhat on what application you are using.
Brue Computing I'm using adobe premiere pro Cc to edit but it lags during playback. I bought a dell inspiron 15 5000 2tb 16gb ram and amd 4gb card. I'm not what to update to improve performance so premiere pro doesn't lag during playback. Thank you so much for your help!
thanks for the video sir.I have a question...there is any M.2 or mSATA slot or just a single way with 2.5" ?
Thanks
I believe the only M.2 slot is the small one for the wireless card, there is no support for an M.2 or mSATA SSD as far as I'm aware.
@@BrueComputing the optical drive slot conector is a mSata right?
@@BrueComputing Is there any way I can put a ssd SATA on the optical drive slot, kinda a caddy, I mean, the connector to the motherboard isn't a SATA, i think it''s a mSAta, am I right?
