In the streets of Thessaloniki (1974)

Description:
Moving on October 30th street, shots are taken by the White Tower or "blood tower", which for 400 years was an Ottoman prison, then views of the building of the Society for Macedonian Studies in Thessaloniki, which houses the theater and the gallery and we also see many vehicles passing by.
Continuing the course on the main road of Thessaloniki again, the OTE tower, with its panoramic view stands in front of us, built in 1970, and then the exhibition center. On the Egnatia Road, the Triumphal Arch of Galerius also known as Kamara (building of the Roman tetrarchy of the 4th century) and then the Rotonda of Thessaloniki or Agios Georgios with its characteristic circular shape and the minaret on the side (306 AD).
On the Metropoleos street, shots from the "Lambropoulos" department store and the city center. Then we approach the White Tower with the waterfront on the side.
Views of the city from the hotel, as the lens wanders on the waterfront of Thermaikos Gulf and then the facade of the hotel "Makedonia Palace" as the cinematographer prepares to enter his car, heading to the Upper Town.
The film ends with footage from "Ano Poli", where we watch narrow labyrinthine alleys, small stone-built white houses, neoclassical buildings and the famous closed balconies.
"I love Thessaloniki" sign. End of film.

Ετσι λες φιλε; θυμασαι πως μυριζε ο θερμαικος; τωρα εχει βιολογικο, τα φορτηγα που περνουσαν ολα απτο κεντρο τωρα πανε απο περιφερειακο, 2 καινουργια νοσοκομεια παπαγεωργιου κ 424 δεν υπηρχαν, πεζοδρομησεις ουτε για πλακα, παρκαρισμα κυριολεκτικα οπου ναναι, πρασινο ελαχιστο, ιχ χωρις καταλυτες, αποχευτευση μονο στο κεντρο κ οχι παντου, εμπορικα εκτος κεντρου κανενα, ο δρομος για χαλκιδικη καρμανιολα πριν γινει κλειστος αυτοκινητοδρομος και αλλα πολλα

Στα πιο πολλα στιγμιότυπα δεν υπαρχει σχεδον καμια διαφορα με σημερα..50 χρονια μετα!!!..η βασικη εικονα της Θεσσαλονίκης παραμένει αναλλοίωτη!!
