Failed Muso same with the castration scene, I heard toyah was getting cold feet because she knew nothing about punk, sex or drugs so she was really confused and scared because it was like a new world so she just broke down crying and Jarman left it in, he was a very experimental filmmakers
If i'm well informed this whole movie was an experiment of Derek Jarman: only firsttakes (allmost at least) and the 'actors' had to improvise their lines. So i just think Derek was thrilled with the pure natural reaction of Adam Ant who could not stop laughing.
Best reason to own this film, really. :) Why is it when Jimmy Fallon breaks character constantly it's annoying as fuck, but when Adam Ant does it it's cute?

I would consider what you call a "real antfan" to be someone who follows the band through all of their changes. It's not like it's a different singer, Adam did both those punk style songs, and his style changed quite a bit over the years. A fan is someone who sticks by the changes. And yes, I have both of those songs, as well as 'Dog Eat Dog' and 'Wonderful' for that matter.

Seeing as Adam & The Ants pre date the Pistols by about 3 years, I'd say it was the other way around ;o) Adam was an influential part of the punk scene from it's very inception and Malcolm McLaren saw the potential early on. Thing was, Adam was too strong minded to bow to McLaren's svengali shenanigans and knew his own direction. In the end Mclaren had to steal the original Ants away from Adam (to form Bow Wow Wow) and preyed on talentless others (Rotten & Vicious) to get his way.
What a load of hooplah. The rubbish that was Bazooka Joe had a dramatic impact on tee punk scene. But it was all made possible via that Pistols first gig in 1975. And said pub rock band formed in 1970. Adam and the Ants formed after that Pistols gig. And Adam donned all the pirate stuff specifically due to McClaren. There is no need to embellish the history.
