I like clips when my hair is NOT braided...but I do need to add more or move the placement to make it tension free. When I have a braid down with leave out, I prefer combs. I just learned this recently. I am waiting on Black Friday so I can buy a second wig to put combs in all over.
Last May while I was on vacation in Miami I got my first and only silk press, trim, and curls. It was beautiful just like yours. I left the shop about 7:00 p.m., walked the streets of Miami to find something to eat all the while feeling myself and swinging my curls. About 10:00 p.m. while waiting on my to-go order I decided to take a selfie. OMG, the silk press was gone. Went straight to the hotel and got my wig together for the next day. LOL. Never again.

This is a wonderful way to stretch your silk press. I usually do a ponytail to take advantage of it’s straightness. That’s good you improvised and didn’t put additional heat on your hair. Very beautiful 😍 turn out. Your texture match is spot on.
When I workout with a silk press I just put my hair in two pigtails or loose buns and will wear a sweatband around my edges. Luckily, I don't usually sweat a lot on my scalp, but I don't wrap my hair up when I workout because that will trap in the heat and make me sweat more. I do wrap my hair after I'm done and fully cooled down.
I use to get my trim and silk press on Thursday.. I don’t workout on Sat/Sun, so I switched to Friday. I have 3 days to enjoy my silk press, and Monday it’s back to business!!!
That’s a great idea! I typically get mine done on a Sunday due to my schedule. But, a Thursday or Friday would be great so that I could keep it for a few days before working out on Monday 😅

I think conceptually these wigs are amazing but they need a few more years to figure out the kinks.... they tend to look bulky and it's probably best suited for kinky/curly textures. Also they need to design hair friendly wig clips until then if I had a unit like this id sew it down.

I think your silk press was crucial! Your stylist evaluated your hair, found tangling, treated your hair with good products & did a great trim💇🏽♀️. Your hair really turned out beautifully🙋🏽♀️ I think it’s important for protective styles to truly protect our hair as we wear wigs. The tangling can be disastrous to our hair, and could end up cutting all the hair off! I think it’s best to get a trim regularly to keep our natural hair healthy & growing. U-Part wigs can be a hassle, but the texture was on point!!

I really love how it turned out. I especially love the half up and half down. I see what you mean on the part area when you do the no leave out method and those combs do hurt. What I have done with my u part is take out VERY VERY little for the part and blend my hair with the heat blow drying brush on low (using heat protectant of course) and it worked out fine..no one could tell. This unit is giving me BIG HAIR GLORY and I love it. It was really the crawl out by hubby for me. He is so dog-on funny. 🤣

pin curls really help with making straightened natural hair last. I workout 5 days a week; pincurls + satin scarf + cotton workout headband. leave the satin scarf on until the hair dries bc it keeps the hair from having the opportunity to frizz up

I love this style. It's been my fav for a while now because it has a lot of bounce . By the way it looks good on you too but you already knew that anyway. Large hoop earrings with that style would make this wig look even more amazing. When you were trying to get the clips on I was like ouch that must hurt a little. I'd let you into a little secret regards to that style but I might disappoint you.😂
Haven’t had a silk press in a min but when I did do them reg, that week would be a lite workout week for me, otherwise I’d have the same results you got.

I'm loving this look! My go to edge control is She Is Bomb it will keep your hair laid alllllll day. I do not lie. Also my backup is the edge control by TGIN. The best so far for me are crochets, they allow my scalp to breathe and are 0 maintenance, the downfall si that they are synthetics and they don't look good after 3 weeks. I also have a headband wig but would love to try other styles.

I think that maybe if you make anchor braids at your part line and then insert the combs, you can do a no leave out look. Just a thought. But, you would probably still have to tease the roots. Hello. My silk press usually doesn’t last after a workout. Your has to be trained to stay straight. Meaning you would have to get it done every 2 to 3, weeks and eventually it won’t revert so quickly. Hope this helps.

Thats what happened to me recently. My hair was her length before but lost a lot when i got it trimmed and pressed because of this.

Try 'Honey Vera' Aloe gel. It's not hard, doesn't flake and will leave you edges slicked down for days.
