+jamielusions Exactly! There are millions of ways to make it sound good. You could have one in open tuning that you strum occasionally whilst soloing in standard on the other neck, or do a similar thing with basslines, using a capo or tapping. You just have to get creative

How in the world do you get near perfectly straight cuts with a hand saw? Every time I try to cut something with a hand saw (be it a hacksaw or a wood saw), the saw always goes wherever it wants to go. I usually have to use some kind of guide such as a miter box to make straight cuts and even those lose their efficiency over time. Please let me know your secret. And don't tell me to hold it down and go slow, because, and I don't say this out of disrespect, but it's quite obvious that you're struggling to hold down the instruments as you're cutting them. I can only imagine because you wouldn't want to crack or damage the guitars in other ways by applying too much force holding it down or cutting it.

Cool AF ! I'm not sure what the insults are for - jealousy and pettiness would be the 2 top reasons. I just saw this and a few years ago - I thought about taking to 300.00 to 500.00 acoustic guitars - one 6 & one 12 and cutting em just like this and putting em together for a double neck. I wavered back and forth - now I know it can be done ! Great job ! There are reasons why someone would want a double guitar - clearly some of the bozos that have commented on here - are too narrow minded to know why one would want a double necked guitar ! Ian Meadows some are 6/12 but there are also some that are 6/4 (guitar on one side bass on the other) some are 6/8 (guitar and mandolin) some are 6/6 (twin necks tuned differently or have different pickup/bridge combos or 6 standard and 6 baritone or bass vi style) and a 6/8 (guitar and lap steel) also with bass it could be 4/4 5/4 5/5 fretted/fretless (ive even seen a 7/7) or a 4/8 (standard bass and 8 string “octave” bass) not to mention various types of harp guitars. There’s really no limit.

Uh dude the purpose of a double neck is 12 strings on one neck for rhythm and one 6 string for lead.

The first guitar was quite a complainer, didn't care for vivisection at all! But it all worked out well in the end. Didn't it?
Yeah I was surprised contact adhesive kept them together. They resonate quite nicely and seem to hold tune.
It was cool to watch, but the point of a double-necked guitar is that you have two different styles to bring variety, like a 12-string and a 6-string.
The leftover pieces of guitars could have just as easily been turned into a mountain dulcimer. The have the right shape.
