  • Learn how to crochet this VERY simple, easy, quick and beautiful crochet stitch - it's a lovely twist on the traditional Blanket Stitch, sometimes called the Sedge Stitch.
It's great for baby blankets, scarves, large afghans and more! The ONE ROW REPEAT aspect means that you can whip this one up without much trouble - a great one for beginners right through to the more advanced crocheter.
For the white baby blanket that I showed I'm using Stylecraft Bambino DK and a 4mm hook - I chained 128 + 3 for my blanket.
    Shop Stylecraft Bambino here: bit.ly/3CjuML4
I'm using Scheepjes Chunky Monkey and a 6mm hook for the sample piece but you can use ANY yarn that you like and whatever hook size it recommends.

Thank you for this most appreciated lesson! I have been crocheting for 40 plus years and have never found a stitch pattern that I absolutely love as much as this. Also, your beginning of the row ch2 alternative stitch is amazing! I have avoided patterns that require ch2 starts because of the awkward edge it leaves. Now the edges are straight and perfect. My project is special because my 10 year old granddaughter asked me to make a white blanket for her. Much searching found your video and it has been saved as my only “favorite “.

Love this! A (city)bus driver asked me to make her daughter a blanket from yarn she (herself/the driver)tried making a lap blanket out of. But found that crocheting just isn't her forte. She brought me 3 large skeins of super chunky gray yarn, including the swatch that she started which was plenty long enough for a twin size spread. But I couldn't duplicate her stitch. So this will be it! She's fine with whatever I choose.
