Introducing the Nelson Rotator R2000FX, a completely new style of sprinkler that brings to the market a unique combination of low pressure operation, greater radius of throw, lower application rates and higher irrigation uniformity over the whole farm.
The R2000RX is a low pressure sprinkler that enables significant energy savings at the farm level. It operates very well at 20PSI. Low pressure sprinklers are available on the market today. What differentiates the R2000FX is the radius of throw and the use of flow control nozzles.
The design and mode of operation enables the R2000FX to have a radius of throw up to 50% greater than existing low pressure sprinklers. Greater radius means wider sprinkler spacing, lower application rates, smaller pipe diameters. These factors make for a more economical irrigation system that is more gentle on the soil. In the case of portable irrigation systems, less labour is required to install, move and remove the system from the field, because fewer sprinklers and pipes are required.
The significant disadvantage of low pressure systems is that the allowable window of pressure is quite small. If 20PSI is used, the pressure at every nozzle in the whole farm must be within 18-22PSI - that's a plus or minus 10% range of pressure. This makes design difficult, and the project more expensive. The current model of R2000FX has a trajectory of 24 degrees, and can be used for field crops, vegetables, freeze protection and cooling of fruit crops.
The mode of operation combines an off-axis movement with slow rotation technology. The rotator technology has been proven in the field for over 30 years. No seals or moving parts are exposed to pipe water pressure, ensuring reliability and durability. A new generation of flow control nozzles is used in the R2000FX.
