As far as I know, this June 1992 recording is the earliest complete recording of Zebinetta's aria "Großmächtige Prinzessin" from the opera "Ariadne auf Naxos" performed by Natalie Dessay. The recording comes from a concert that took place at the Hôtel de Matignon in Paris on June 21, 1992 as part of the "Fête de la musique" festival. Natalie Dessay then sang only this one aria with piano accompaniment. Apparently, this was an opportunity for her to test her interpretation of the aria "Großmächtige Prinzessin" in a public performance, since at that time she was already studying the role of Zerbinetta for a production at the Théâtre Graslin in Nantes. After the success in Nantes in January 1993, Zerbinetta became one of the pivotal roles of Natalie Dessay. As Zerbinetta, she performed in Vienna (Wiener Staatsoper), in New York (The Metropolitan Opera), in Bilbao (Teatro Coliseo Albia), in Salzburg (Salzburger Festspiele) and in Paris (Opéra Garnier) and she also recorded a CD.

There is another early but incomplete recording of Zebinetta's aria performed by Natalie Dessay. On July 31, 1992, the opera "La prova di un'opera seria" (Gnecco) was performed at the Montpellier Festival. In this comic opera, among other things, two rival singers show off their singing skills. Natalie Dessay in the role of one of them (Violante Pescarelli, seconda donna) sang part of Zerbinetta's aria.

Before Natalie Dessay became famous for the role of Zerbinetta, she sang the small role of Najade in the opera "Ariadne auf Naxos". It was at the Montpellier Festival on July 28, 1990.
