Fallen motorcyclist fatally run over by hit-and-run driver in L.A.

- Two hit-and-run drivers remain at large after a motorcyclist was struck and killed in the Lincoln Heights neighborhood Saturday morning.
The crash happened near the busy intersection of South Avenue 20 and North Broadway at around 7:40 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department. An investigation revealed that a suspect, possibly driving a Ford F-150 truck, ran a red light which caused the motorcyclist to fall off his bike and onto the street.
The suspect did not stop and continued driving away. Seconds later, another oncoming vehicle ran over the victim's body and also sped away, authorities said.

It’s UNBELIEVABLE to me that there are so many people with no conscience about killing someone, and they could care less and drive away. UNBELEIVABLE. Society is broken and demonized. Sad.
This was my wonderful cousin Manuel “Manny” Mercado. He was the kindest, sweetest, compassionate, caring, unique and such a lovable human being. I just can’t believe that anyone could just do this to a human being. He was a psychologist and I’m sure he helped many people in his career. He is so loved And will be deeply missed.

Yep. My sister has been rear ended twice by vehicles and neither driver spoke English. First time was in LA and the second time was in Miami.

This was our friend and marriage counselor. My fiancé and I loved him so much!!! I knew when he was 5 min late to our zoom call something was wrong. I instantly felt sick and thought about his bike. When I didn’t hear from him the next day I called around, asked his job to do a wellness check, We did not stopped looking for him since he missed our zoom. I saw this and knew it! And thankfully tracked someone down who was able to confirm.
We were so lucky to have known him!
He was silly, smart, compassionate, considerate, understanding and funny!
He was charming and a beautiful soul.
He truly saved us together and separately from so much. Taught us how to love better and forgive.
Idk how to explain it all….these people had no idea the person they carelessly left alone on that dirty street. I can’t imagine what he was thinking in his last moments!!

I know that area very well. It's near I-5.
They TOOK AWAY LANES and made them bike lanes.
It was already crowded BEFORE they did that. Now ALL of those roads crossing Broadway are ONE single lane.
I never saw people riding their bicycles in those lanes, so it was just a frustrating experience to get through there.
Those STUPID bike lanes have KILLED people by creating this unnecessary burden to drivers, causing them to do stupid things.

Well then that’s your fault, e scooters aren’t allowed to go over 15mph in California, those things don’t get the same mph privileges as cars do. You need to respect the road, as much as the terrible car drivers do. And that’s exactly the problem and why it sucks so much out there on the roads, nobody gives af, ignores speed limits and traffic signs, and treats the road like it’s a personal playground.
