BORDERTOWN TRAIL [1944] - Sunset Carson

The election to determine if Texas will become a state is near and men opposed are running contraband across the border. SUNSET CARSON and Frog [SMILEY BURNETTE] are Border Patrolmen and have an agent that tips them off by carrier pigeon. The Army arrives and the commander is Sunset's brother. When the agent is found out and murdered, his fake replacement then leads the soldiers astray.

I went into this movie with zero expectations, and was pleasantly surprised. A fun movie. I will have to watch some more. Thanks for posting!

Geno, your channel has become the go-to place online for Sunset Carson films. I'm sure Sunset is looking down from that big rodeo in the sky with a smile on his face because anyone anywhere can now easily see his films and appreciate his special charm. This one has a good supporting cast: Weldon Heyburn, Jack Luden, Rex Lease, and that dog "Baron". The song Smiley sings in his first scene was later the theme for his radio show!
