  • In this video we will show you around some of the most beautiful spots we visited in Szczecin, Poland. It was an absolute treat!
We visited the beautiful Promenade which looks over Poland's second longest river, the Oder River. People were out enjoying the sun and spent some time fishing in the river.
We made our way down the Promenade and walked past the stunning Waly Chrobrigo. We were in awe of the stunning architecture everywhere we looked. It made us feel like we were in Paris! Whilst walking down the street, we saw this vibrant American restaurant called Colorado. We just HAD to go check it out, and i'm so glad we did!
We then went for supper at the Hay Market Square where we finally found a Polish restaurant! Hay Market Square is known for its beautiful architecture, colourful buildings and a variety of restaurants. We had Poland's traditional Pierogi (which is basically a dumpling), and a traditional Polish beer.
We fell in love with the vibrant streets, the beautiful buildings and the friendly people!

Ruthenian dumplings are made of potatoes, onions and curd. This is a traditional Polish taste. He brought them from Ruthenia to the crown of St. Jacek Odrowąż in the 12th century. Ruthenia is commonly confused with Russia. This is a great historical mistake. Ruthenia (today western Ukraine) was part of Poland for nearly 1000 years.

Dumplings - every restaurant has a different recipe and tastes different, my favorite ones are with cheese and blueberries with sour cream, these are eaten like dessert and watch out for teeth and tongue turning purple. My favorite Polish beers are Tyskie, Lech, and if you like porter, Baltic is better than English. A little caution in Poland you can't drink alcohol in public places only within restaurants or designated places, usually fenced. In large cities, Poles speak English less in small towns, although young people also understand English. Traditional Polish food is not dumplings, although it is known and associated with Poland, but we don't eat it every day, it will be more like a pork chop with potatoes and salad, it is good with red beetroot or pickled cucumber. In the summer, my favorite dish is new potatoes with scrambled eggs and chilled kefir or buttermilk. I don't know if you know what buttermilk or kefir is? . I am glad that you feel good and safe in Poland - good luck in further exploring my country.😄

@@BB.Beyond.Borders Hard to tell cuz every one has different taste, but IMO the best food are polish sausages can't go wrong with kiełbasa. Gołąbki are also awesome.
BTW The best Polish food you don't find in restaurants BUT in Bar mleczny means Milkbar but has nothing to do with that, in Bar mleczny you get traditional polish food made by polish Babcia=Granny, you cant get better Bang for the buck. If they don't speak a lick of English, your at the right place.
So do yourself a favor & check out a Bar Mleczny.

Good pierogi are well stuffed with a tin dough, here dough is not so tin and there is still space for a filling, so you've tried not the best one. Is good to check places in trip advisor or just in google for opinions before order. Choose next time place with not less than 4.5 stars, maybe it will not be the cheapest in the city, but this will be accurate experience that you will enjoy.

Always feeling leisure in Szczecin, for some reason. Puszcza Augustowska - Polish Shire, as I call it, is possibly most desolate place in Poland, void of tourist. Yet stuff of dreams, I feel like in fairytale being there. Hidden Gem, and King's Forest since 1500s, richest king of Poland Sigismund August. Very North East corner of Poland, go deep inside the forest, may use an Augustow Channel as form of locomotion - kayaking. Wild yet quite amendable.

Not in the political sense , but in the cultural one in general: large in area and population ( for European measures ) yet still a pathetic, postprussian VILLAGE. Probably because during the forced resettlement after World War II people from rural eastern, uneducated Poland appeared en masse in Szczecin/ Stettin. A Polish intellectual elite from Lviv, for example, flowed into Wrocław /Breslau. That's why today's Breslau is the informal intellectual, bright and open civilizational Polish capital - and not provincionally Warsaw at all. (I'm not from Wrocław , to be clear 😝)
