I tested both. Essential for me. Flip5 is more bassy and louder. But for me essential, it has more bright sound and wider soundstage because of stereo.

It's a shame it's not stereo. I have the 3 and 5 and the sound quality is definitely better on the stereo model.

Sound quality goes to flip 3 and flip 5 is a basser speaker and sound very heavy which hurt the ears if you listen for 2 to 3hrs
Please do this same review only for the JBL Charge 4 vs the Charge Essential
The essential sounds tiny stiil ok for price
For me Flip Essential has clearer and more detailed sound. Flip 5 sounded a bit muddy. I couldn't tell the difference in bass range. So I got Flip Essential.

Flip 5 is mono. Essential is stereo. That helped me make my choice.

@@jammin3375 He says that the essential has 2 speakers and flip5 only has one. outside it doesn't really matter whether it is mono or stereo. if you want a stereo effect then you have to wear the essential in front of your face. these are portable speakers, not stereo systems
@@aizeeeis6695 stereo became a standard since 1958, we have stereo headphones, why speakers have to be necessarily mono? Thus fusing 2 channels to mono tends to distort specially with the sound compression

My GG FLIP 5 had a ripped off minus button and was in for repair and today I got it back and it is a brand new one and a CS! A black CS!!!! How crazy is that? Even JBL themselves don´t seem to care because GG broken needs GG replacement xD

io ho l'essential e mi sto trovando benissimo, però lo connetto SEMPRE tramite aux (il cavetto l'ho comprato a parte, perchè non è incluso nella confezione), non so se questo incida e in che modo sulla qualità del suono rispetto al bluetooth.....
Una cosa negativa che noto è che quando lo metto in carica tramite il cavetto usb in dotazione al pc e contemporaneamente lo uso fa un leggerissimo suono gracchiante.... ma che quando partono le canzoni non si sente.... credo sia dato solo dal fatto che sta caricando, perchè da solo non lo fa.
I bassi li amplifica e si sentono bene, evidenziati, il suono in generale mi sembra pulito, in particolare la resa del vocale è molto nitida.
Il fatto che sia stereo non è da sottovalutare perchè crea un bel suono pieno e "vivo".
Personalmente lo consiglio, se lo trovi a un buon prezzo è un affare, io l'ho preso da mediaworld circa 2 anni fa, ma non ricordo quanto l'ho pagato......il commesso mi aveva detto che questa marca è molto buona e devo dire che ha soddisfatto comunque le mie aspettative.
Se vai in negozio, lo puoi provare, io ho fatto così!

The essential has 2 speakers for stereo playback, the flip5 is a mono speaker! Did you not test for this??? Its a major consideration. All music has been in stereo since the 60s!! Who wants to listen to only half of their music???
You dont hear stereo when speakers are so close to each other
But with speaker this small.. you wont hear the difference.
