Bro you literally just explained this waaaay Better than my teacher did in class and I have a test tomorrow and I actually get it now! Much appreciated man...I'll be back for more.
I know you probably get thanked quite often but I really had to personally say thank you for creating all these tutoring videos, I've yet to find a channel that is as helpful as yours! Much appreciated! (Helping me survive my University Functions class haha)
best tutor ever... my teacher only teaches us this once and its so compolicated and i was always afraid to ask him so i only studied here for better understanding. thank you so much without you i may never pass in math
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! After watching and using your video "simplifying rational expressions" as reference for our test, I was able to be one of the highest scorers in our class. God Bless U!
My teacher in my Math 3 class is trying something new called a flipped classroom where we go home and learn the material and then we show what we know the next day and you really do a good job at explaining all of this. it's quick and I can pause the video at anytime to write things down and process them however long I need to. Thank you very much for your awesome videos!
Mannnnnnn! YOU ARE GREAT, u explain every type of problem and whatever curveball might be thrown at us. U demonstrate how to solve problems that vary in difficulty man i like that. keep it up
Thank you Sir!,Tommorow is our exam so this video help me too much So thank you so much Sir !! God gave you such a wonderful blessing in life!! Hope that upload more Math Lesson Tutorial Lesson :D
Thank you Fort Bend Tutoring for showing this video because its a great help for me teaching Grade 8 students and i am sure this will be understood by my students. Besides there are a lot of examples
So far this has been the biggest challenge! I think I struggled to just work one step at a time, and to take the time to analyze each one. This is my fourth viewing and I am almost there. You did put a six before a five though ,,,,sigh. 8 ) thanks for your clear teaching.
Thanks so much! I finally understood Algebra cuz I always have a hard time understanding my teacher back at school XD I wish you could be our teacher though, you're so good at this! :3
Thanks for offering the free lessons. All the students in the classroom don't have same capacity or the level of interpretation of the instructions within a fraction of a second. There must be a couple of seconds of interval during the instruction. The students must have sometime to interpret the instructions, put them together and frame a concept. The teacher proves his excellence in fast solving the problems but needs to review the way if he has been still teaching. It is sure to add one more feather on his hat.
My hat is overflowing with feathers. Students that need a second to interpret the instructions or review the problem can use the pause and rewind buttons on their RUclips player. ;-)
Thank You For Sharing This Video!!!(: I Actually Hate Math But You Make It Look So Easy That I Might Start Liking How To Do Some Math!! :D I Will Definitely Be Using Some More Of Your Videos!!! I Will Also Be Recommending Some Of Your Videos To Math Teachers!! They Don`t Teach It This Good & Easy!!
Hi Mr Whitt! I have a question about example 4. When we are done with factoring and then when we start simplifying, Why cant I simplify the denominator 4 with the other denominator 12? Is there a rule that doesn't allow simplifying the denominator of two fractions.
Somebody asked this question already, but mine's a little bit of different. On your first example, you cancelled 3 and 6 then went to 8 with the 2. I would like to ask why didn't you cancelled the 3 to 9 instead of cancelling it to 6? And what if since there's no "2" if I cancelled the 3 to 9, then I won't be able to cancel the 8. Will the final answers change?
As long as there are factors that can be simplified diagonally or vertically, you can continue to simplify the problem. Both ways will work just fine. If you simplify the 3 and the 9 first, you can then simplify the 8 and 6. The result after multiplying will be the same.
After understanding the steps, pause the video and work out each problem until to you get stuck and then play it to see what step is next. Keep using this process until you are able to completely do it yourself.
Hi,problem #1 why didn't you also simplify 9x4 if top was 3/1=1 and the rest of them also simplified if nine would've been 9/3=3? I'm confused with that
+Fort Bend Tutoring yes I got that down, but in the video you just reduced the 3 except for the 9. So instead I end up with 1/3 *4/3 with same answer thank you.
They took the factor (1 - 3a) and factored out a -1 which allowed them to rewrite the numerator as -8a(3a - 1)((3a + 1). From there, you're able to simplify like the problems in this video.
You can't cancel them out because the numerator and denominator aren't the same. Also, due to the fact that the x's and y's are not being multiplied together in the result. Check out this video for further examples: ruclips.net/video/zBjjL-17ItU/видео.html

Hi Mr Whitt!
I have a question about example 4.
When we are done with factoring and then when we start simplifying,
Why cant I simplify the denominator 4 with the other denominator 12?
Is there a rule that doesn't allow simplifying the denominator of two fractions.
That's correct. You can't simplify (as in cancel terms) horizontally.
you are awesome!!!
+jon saad Thanks 4 the support Jon!
Wow thankss a lot😊
Somebody asked this question already, but mine's a little bit of different. On your first example, you cancelled 3 and 6 then went to 8 with the 2. I would like to ask why didn't you cancelled the 3 to 9 instead of cancelling it to 6? And what if since there's no "2" if I cancelled the 3 to 9, then I won't be able to cancel the 8. As long as there are factors that can be simplified diagonally or vertically, you can continue to simplify the problem. Both ways will work just fine. If you simplify the 3 and the 9 first, you can then simplify the 8 and 6. The result after multiplying will be the same.
Mr. Whitt how about your multiplying unlike bases?what will you do with the exponents?

You explain this so much better than my teacher.my problem is when I try to do it my self I get stuck

thank you

In problem #3, how did xy+y factor to y(x+1)? What happened to the 2nd y?
+Beryl Moreau Check this video out: ruclips.net/video/JPYfGMeqzzk/видео.html
What does the dot in the center mean?Does it mean to multiply?
Yeah it does
+austin s That result is not completely factored and would at best at additional steps and at worst give you the wrong result.
Hi,problem #1 why didn't you also simplify 9x4 if top was 3/1=1 and the rest of them also simplified if nine would've been 9/3=3? I'm confused with that
+jr fun Maybe this video will help! ruclips.net/video/IOcUsW49CW8/видео.html
+Fort Bend Tutoring yes I got that down, but in the video you just reduced the 3 except for the 9. So instead I end up with 1/3 *4/3 with same answer thank you.
+jr fun It was just a matter of preference. As you found out, both ways work! :-)
the best one

+Micheal F Great vid btw!

Thanks!
sir why did you not divide the 3x/9x it can be =1x/3x
+joy Reel Hello Joy! You could have done that. I chose to simplify the 3 and 6 instead.
I need a problem where when I factor I have something like this 8a(1-3a)(3a+1)(2a+1)/(2a+1)(3a-1)(3a+1) the answer I was given is -8a\2a+1
They took the factor (1 - 3a) and factored out a -1 which allowed them to rewrite the numerator as -8a(3a - 1)((3a + 1). From there, you're able to simplify like the problems in this video.
I just actually found your video where you you explained this!! Thanks :)
I got a math question. why does 5a/6a^2 = 5/6a? Shouldn't it be 5/6a^-1
+Kickz__01 No, it shouldn't. Setup a paid online tutorial at www.TutorMeMath.net.
why is that? can u explain pls?
+Kickz__01 Yes, setup a paid online tutorial at www.TutorMeMath.net.
+Kickz__01 This should help: ruclips.net/video/j-uzACUunrQ/видео.html
I know you keep repeating it, but I don't get why you can't cancel out the x or y in answer.
You can't cancel them out because the numerator and denominator aren't the same. Also, due to the fact that the x's and y's are not being multiplied together in the result. Check out this video for further examples: ruclips.net/video/zBjjL-17ItU/видео.html
Whats up mga pinoy?😂
HAHAHA
In your 4th problem (m^-10m+25) i just thought the factor would be (m-5)(m+5)??

what app are you using?
Penultimate by Evernote.
Can there be a shortcut for this?
there is no shortcut for math
I think this IS the shortcut or at least the easiest way to make us understand
I feel like problem #4's answer should be m-5/1 or m-5
just my opinion
+Firewing Your opinion is incorrect.
