Alice’s speech hit too close to home for Jax. He knows he’s failing his sons by continuing in the life and letting them stay in Charming. He couldn’t bear hearing it any longer and shot her. Kurt Sutter wrote an excellent scene there.
That and Venus is pro-actively taking steps to ensure the boy is far away from Charming as possible, raised in environment more healthy than Venus'. Meanwhile, Jax can't admit that he's too stubborn, too blinded by loyalty to his own club, to do the same for Abel and Thomas. It's another area within Jax where Alice's speech hit hard.

The way that Kurt Sutter wrote her in or brought her back through ties to Nero was ingenious. It is a small world, after all. It definitely goes to show what a decent man Nero is or has become. I've always liked Wendy way more than Tara. Lying to the cops was never a problem for Wendy. What she couldn't handle and pushed her towards the drugs was all the lying the SOA family did to each other. Gemma likes to tell everyone what to do, especially the women that's with Jax. She tells them they can only make a relationship with Jax work if there's full disclosure. But then she's always telling them not to say anything or bother Jax with anything that happens to them when he's not around. Especially when she takes her own advice and stops lying.

@@NikkiStevenReactIts really not that hard to imagine. How many conversations do you want her to have? She is literally fighting for her life and the life of her children. I would go further. I would execute Gemma and bank on Jax concealing it. I’m not torn on what Tara is doing at all. The way fans turned on her during this season is outrageous.
@@sebastiianfelipe Dude…did you not see what happens at the end of the season? Lol. When you are dealing with someone that you know is capable of that and you are trying to save your children and yourself, there is no such thing is too far. Gemma literally called them her kids.
yeah the psychotic one is the one that wouldn't retaliate against a pregnant woman.. but the one lying to everybody including her man, staging a pregnancy and miscarriage to manipulate everybody including the police and courts into sending the grandmother of her kids to jail for something she didn't do and then lying about it to her children's father and making him think he lost a baby all just so she can get what she wants is totally not a psycho at all
Minus the fact she probably gave Jax severe depression and rage for like an episode and a half making him believe he lost his unborn daughter, Gemma refused to back off so Tara just did what Gemma taught her
Tara caused unnecessary problems. She knew what she was saying up for when she got with Jax. She should have been like Carmela in the sopranos and it would have been fine.
@@akabbossking3414 Carmela was pretty volatile tho. She eventually started loving the luxury and the life Tony was giving her and started giving less and less of a fuck about her kids. She was also a GIANT hypocrite, giving tony shit and defending her kids from his wrath, just to fall back to enjoying the materialism of the mob life.
What I don't like is all this violence happens in Season 7, and while it's still ongoing, Gemma gives Abel an SOA ring and tries to fill his head with the idea that he needs to follow in Jax's footsteps and join SOA and eventually become President (and maybe Thomas be Vice President, or flip stuff so Thomas is President and Abel is Vice President). Then throw in how offended/angry/upset Gemma gets when Abel starts school. Gemma is HIGHLY against that. What kind of grandma is like that? Gemma is actually a terrible grandma and shouldn't be raising those boys IF something were to happen to Jax and Tara.
I just watched the sound of freedom. This particular episode made me think of it. If you watch it, be prepared to be angry at our government and what’s happening at the border
24:22 So... in case you guys or any one didnt get why Jax cries here , it's because he is listening to Alice like if it's someone saying all those things to him about the future of his sons ... yeah he took that too damn personal, he relatates to that speech
16:23 i LOVE the way Nero responds to hearing about Venus. He’s a guy that truly and genuinely cares and is extremely loyal. He made mistakes but he paid for them and came out the other side a good man just trying to do right by his son.
Here's the thing, the faster you get comfortable with the fact that every character on this show is a piece of shit human being, the more you will be able to enjoy the show. Every one of them. So stop asking questions decent people ask, you will never be at their level. Just enjoy the darkness, because it only gets worse.
When you realize that Alice was monologuing to spite Venus, and Venus heard it, but the words were FELT by Jax instead…THAT is impactful writing. Even though Alice was talking about Venus, she unintentionally spoke TO Jax because of her anger, and that’s what drove him to shoot her. He couldn’t stand hearing the bitter truth from a complete stranger, even if the words weren’t meant for him. He knows they apply to him regardless. Also: Walton Goggins is a terrific actor. Dare I say underrated.
My take…..in “normal”circumstances Tara’s actions would be extreme and over the top…but their lives are full of extremes. I think Tara is fully aware of how messed up it is but she’s doing what she has to to protect her babies. To quote one of my favorite movies..”I’m a parent…I haven’t got the luxury of principles.” 🤷♀️
Always felt like that look on Gemma's face at the end calls back to the end of S4, when Tara said to Gemma 'I'm smarter than you'....felt like Gemma started to believe it there
1 thing with Jax I noticed.. he never questions Tara.. whatever she says he believes.. I really don’t think he read those papers lol…but again Gemma Karma comes back.. do I agree with Tara’s tactics nope..but I get it 100% and again Gemma is a sociopath and Jax lies nonstop and promises nonstop!!
Hey guys just wanted to mention that if you can find the collectors edition box set for sons it came with a mini replica table of the reaper anyways love yalls reactions ✌️🤘
That was something I always wondered too, how Tara would have passed off the "miscarriage" without one of the doctors realizing she wasn't even pregnant.
Don't forget that Tara still believes that Gemma was the one who turned her in for giving Otto the crucifix. In addition to everything Gemma has done, Tara blames her for facing jail time, losing her kids.
You might need to pay closer attention. In the first episode of the season, Toric tells Tara he called the police on her. It's mostly done so that the audience/viewer gets answers on who called the police on Tara, especially since they had to wait like 9 months for the next season and it was one of the bigger questions everyone was asking when going into Season 6.
@@reaps8807 I totally don't remember that. I've watched the entire series three times and I don't remember that. I always thought Tara still blamed Gemma. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
I thought there was about 2-3 kegs. Maybe one was hooked up, but I think there was one or two more next to it on standby for when the one hooked up ran out. Plus knowing how often they drink and how many people are there (not just members), they probably go through a keg quickly. So it's normal to stock up and get a couple at a time.
There was a lot of foreshadowing this episode. "The only way i could start a new life is be reborn." Jax basically had to die to cuange the club. "Hes gonna grow up hating you. Not because of me or his dead mama, but because of you." We know what happens to Tara and Jax even makes sure that his sons will end up hating him.
Ugh me waiting for ep 13 like 😢😢😢 this is one of my faves tho. Venus for life ❤😊 tara is a g theres no talking to jax cause gemma is the issue and i love tig and venus. Also f gemma

It’s a really good Fours season episode about the nurses and doctors from the Vietnam era, and what they had to go through😮😢❤😊. Just a suggestion and an FYI heads up thank you for sharing. Take care and be safe.❤🤠
Tara is feeling desperate at this point because, as you pointed out, Steve, Jax has promised over and over that he wants to get out of the life. Unfortunately for Tara, the MC is his first "old lady", and will always be a priority over everything else, including her and the boys.
I don't know why Tara never showed or told Jax about Gemma's involvement with JT's murder cause I guarantee that would've given Tara exactly what she needed to get her and the boys out of Charming.
@@NikkiStevenReact the actor for jax has a British accent and he hid it better in the early seasons but you can tell in the later ones his accent coming out its funny
The thing about Tara that a lot of people forget....Tara has been manipulating her way in, out, back in, around, in again then trying to be out of Jax's life since season 1 when she first appeared. Understandable that she's had to go to great lengths to "do what she felt was right" given everything going on & that has gone on but it doesn't change the fact that other than Gemma, Tara is the most manipulative character on the show
Yes, Tara had to go that far. Its the only way she could make sure Gemma could never get custody and the only way she knew Jax would sign that restraining order wothout question.
Gemma definitely forced Tara’s hand in all this. I think jax would’ve been understanding in letting her leave with the kids and for him to meet up once the club was sorted and he’s literally said as much in earlier episodes but Gemma being the possessive manipulative person that she is hasn’t allowed that even though she has no say 😂
I think sometimes, in certain circumstances you have to learn to let go, even though your heart may break while doing it, but like you brought out, you want the best for your children and you want them to be better people for a better world along with productive people and living in that type of environment sometimes we are products of our environment, children will get desensitized with violence. Violence, begets violence you don’t want them to be in such an environment to where hurting others is a standard, that is just my opinion, and my observation in life as it goes, but sometimes you do have to let go if you don’t have that right kind of Wholesome environment to provide for your children. You want to do what’s best for your children. And in certain cases, it is better for them to go to a place that is more peaceful. That means letting them go if you love them that much for their betterment. ❤😮😢😊
What Tara did was horrible. But I understand that she is being told she’s going to prison, the court date has been moved up, Jax and her are not in the best place (by their own doing), and she knows if Wendy doesn’t get guardianship then Gemma is ultimately going to be raising her kids. She feels trapped and her kids are more important than anything else. “Desperate times comes call for desperate measures”. I don’t think that she thinks it’s right, I just think she doesn’t know what else to do. Just my opinion.
Tara learned the art of lying and manipulation from the queen Gemma herself 😂 And for Gemma, it's her own fault cause Gemma gonna Gemma. She never think things trough, she just acts.
I think Tara's actions were somewhat inevitable at this point. She's tried for several seasons now to convince Jax to leave, he won't. Gemma is making it impossible for just her and the kids to leave. She's been pushed to the extreme, especially when it comes for how to deal with Gemma. It'd be nice if she didn't have to manipulate Jax, and he'd just let her go, but it'd be naive of her to take that chance. I respect her for being the only person truly putting the children first.
@@NikkiStevenReact that’s what I was asking by…how old was it. Have you started on season 7? I watched you guys for Walking Dead and Game of Thrones. I’d love to see your reactions to season 7..
Okay, as a mom I do 100% get Tara’s motivation and do not at all feel bad for Gemma. But, I did not like this or Tara this entire season. Before she went to jail jax told her to go to Oregon and he would follow. Perhaps if she had had another conversation with him, reminding him of the car accident and everything she’s been thru he might have agreed to whatever she wanted. 🤷♀️maybe not but I don’t think this was the only way.
Everyone blames Jax for Tara's transformation into Gemma 2.0, but I think that's unfair because of two reasons. First, Tara has been this way from the very beginning. Back in the very first season, she ran back to Jax when she got involved with her psycho ex. She knew how badly Jax fell in love with her and she knew that she could use that to get Jax to protect her. Remember when she shot her ex? It was completely justifiable. But did she call the cops? Nope. She called Jax. Because she knew Jax would get rid of him permanently. Secondly, while Jax hasn't been totally successful at it, he has legitimately been trying to turn SAMCRO legit since he became the Prez so that his family would be safe. Look at everything he's done up until this point to get the club out of guns. Jax lost it and shot Alice because he knows better than anyone what its like to hate your father based upon someone else's lies and manipulation. When he heard Alice telling Venus that is what would happen with her son, he decided to make sure that it wouldn't. And speaking of Venus...Walton Goggins is such an underrated actor. He absolutely kills any role he's given. His range is the stuff that legends are made of. I know I've said this in the past, but you all really need to checkout the show Justified if you haven't already. The chemistry between Goggin's Boyd Crowder and Timothy Olyphant's Raylan Givens is some of the best and most compelling TV you'll ever see.
As despicable as Alice is..everything she was saying hit Jax right in the head and heart. He’s a terrible person, in reality they are ALL terrible people. No better than Alice, just a different sin. Edit* obviously as you guys are reading this comment and you’re already finished with the show so you see why Tara had to do what she had to do 🫤
Now rewatching, I think Jax killed Alice cuz she got him thinking about his own life. With her whole “you kids are gonna grow up hating who their father is” speech I think got to him, I don’t think it had anything to do with Venus
I was and still am a fan of Sons. But not gonna lie. The fake pregnancy in Season 6 was REALLY soapish to me. SOA always had heightened drama, of course, being loosely based on Hamlet. Still, it seemed a really extreme ruse for Tara to get what she wanted.
So, I love SOA... I get what Kurt had in mind for Tera, but I HATED how they did her this season. Right down to the ugly Karen hair. But making her a rat and turning on people who saved her life... Worse than Juice IMO. Which was another thing.
The storyline with Venus’s mom Alice was one of the very few times I thought Jax didn’t shoot her enough. My goddaughter turned 6 on the first of the year, and I know both Nikki and Steven are parents, so I can imagine how they felt and how they would have handled that if it was them

I would execute Gemma and bank on Jax concealing it. I’m not torn on what Tara is doing at all. The way fans turned on her during this season is outrageous.
@@Redsdelightit’s understandable but also way too far to setup gemma to make it seem like she made someone have a miscarriage.
@@sebastiianfelipe Dude…did you not see what happens at the end of the season? Lol. When you are dealing with someone that you know is capable of that and you are trying to save your children and yourself, there is no such thing is too far. Gemma literally called them her kids.
yeah the psychotic one is the one that wouldn't retaliate against a pregnant woman.. but the one lying to everybody including her man, staging a pregnancy and miscarriage to manipulate everybody including the police and courts into sending the grandmother of her kids to jail for something she didn't do and then lying about it to her children's father and making him think he lost a baby all just so she can get what she wants is totally not a psycho at all
Walton Goggins is just fucking amazing all around, You guys need to watch Justified.......
For certain
Yes, I think justified is just as good, if not better the SOA!!! These are definitely my 2 favorite shows of all time!!!
Shield
honestly i totally get what Tara did what she did yes that was f up but Gemma is dangerous for those kids and even for Jax so she did the right thing
@@akabbossking3414 Yeah, cuz the clubhouse blowing up was "fine". lol
@@Nightwolf--og3du she didn't do it the right way that's for sure but she did what she had to do for her sons ..
To all the people attacking Tara, Nero said it best in the end to Jax, “it’s time to honor tara’s wishes”
Maybe some1 beat me to it, but the big dude at the table 12:07 min mark w/ the beanie was An actual Hells Angel-
I love you Nikki and Steven hopefully you guys have an excellent day
16:23 i LOVE the way Nero responds to hearing about Venus.
This is exactly how we enjoy this show and enjoyed it to the end.
Gemmas gonna Gemma 😂😂
The Patriot?
I think the moment Jax shot Venus's mother, I think his mind flashed to Gemma and that caused the nixed emotions.
Always felt like that look on Gemma's face at the end calls back to the end of S4, when Tara said to Gemma 'I'm smarter than you'....felt like Gemma started to believe it there
Jax killing that mom…. Just shows so much. And him wiping his eye afterwards.
This episode should have been called "Do two wrongs make a right."
Gemma is like ivvar. I fucking hate Ivarr lol but great actor! And actress!
Tara acting weird, Gemma attacks, and Jax is like, "I promise" to several people.
You must protect the cookies 😂😂😂
Yep, that was a crazy episode! Powerful reaction. 👀
Yeah, that explosion was massive 😂 typical Hollywood one keg blew up twice 😂
I thought there was about 2-3 kegs. Maybe one was hooked up, but I think there was one or two more next to it on standby for when the one hooked up ran out. Plus knowing how often they drink and how many people are there (not just members), they probably go through a keg quickly. So it's normal to stock up and get a couple at a time.
There was a lot of foreshadowing this episode.
"The only way i could start a new life is be reborn." Jax basically had to die to cuange the club.
"Hes gonna grow up hating you. Not because of me or his dead mama, but because of you."
We know what happens to Tara and Jax even makes sure that his sons will end up hating him.
Jax killed Alice because of her words. It’s like she was talking to directly to him and it hit a nerve
We're almost there!!
Ugh me waiting for ep 13 like 😢😢😢 this is one of my faves tho. Venus for life ❤😊 tara is a g theres no talking to jax cause gemma is the issue and i love tig and venus. Also f gemma
Tig gonna Tig....but I couldn't help but wish Tig didn't Tig so much about Venus. It was funny... then... it was... uncomfortable... then... urghhhh.... Tig... TIG... TIG.... WHAT THE HELL TIG.
Keep in mind that Tig was sexually abused by his father when he was a child. So he has that strong connection with Venus.
When he came in, they should have opened with "We've decided we don't want you as a Sons of Anarchy prospect anymore. Hand over your kutte."
The actor that plays the mayor in this particular episode, you should see him in another clip call ‘China Beach’ It depicts the Casualties of the Vietnam war, and he Played a Vietnam soldier. It’s a really good Fours season episode about the nurses and doctors from the Vietnam era, and what they had to go through😮😢❤😊. Just a suggestion and an FYI heads up thank you for sharing. Take care and be safe.❤🤠
jax was crying because he was relating to the speech.
Did Robocop have to kick the cookie off the table, ha!
Cooked or raw, you're coming with me.
Tara just wanted to protect her boys and even though what she did was extreme I get it.
Tara is feeling desperate at this point because, as you pointed out, Steve, Jax has promised over and over that he wants to get out of the life. Unfortunately for Tara, the MC is his first "old lady", and will always be a priority over everything else, including her and the boys.
Alice was speaking to Venus about her son will never look at how awful his father turned out, but the camera only focuses on Jax.
I don't know why Tara never showed or told Jax about Gemma's involvement with JT's murder cause I guarantee that would've given Tara exactly what she needed to get her and the boys out of Charming.
The characters in this show they so complex, that one of many points i like about this show, i miss shows like this.
19:26 Cold Stone cookies 😂

This is one of my fav episodes because of how they patched ratboy in. Such a W scene... lol
Im suprised they haven't commented on Charlie giving up trying the American accent it REALLY shows in this episode
Not sure what you mean
@@NikkiStevenReact the actor for jax has a British accent and he hid it better in the early seasons but you can tell in the later ones his accent coming out its funny

@@housebeats31 some folks including myself mix his bio with Travis Fimmel cause Vikings was on around the same time.
@@kathykay975 you are correct
The thing about Tara that a lot of people forget....Tara has been manipulating her way in, out, back in, around, in again then trying to be out of Jax's life since season 1 when she first appeared. Understandable that she's had to go to great lengths to "do what she felt was right" given everything going on & that has gone on but it doesn't change the fact that other than Gemma, Tara is the most manipulative character on the show
Right!!!!!
Yes, Tara had to go that far. Its the only way she could make sure Gemma could never get custody and the only way she knew Jax would sign that restraining order wothout question.
What type of cookie were those that you two suggest are excellent?
Alice had to go bro. Child corn = Meeting Mr Mayhem. Open and shut case Johnson.
Don’t you just love Venus and Tig?!😂❤❤❤❤
Ok fine Walton Goggins I'll watch Justified again. Highly recommend it after SOA btw!
I fully support Jax offing that monster. Good for him.
Venus is everything. She and Tig were my only ship for this show.
Yeah, the look in his eyes were scary.
Tara learned the art of lying and manipulation from the queen Gemma herself 😂
And for Gemma, it's her own fault cause Gemma gonna Gemma.
She never think things trough, she just acts.
Rat earned his cut I’m glad he got patched in
Happy New Year ‼️
If Gemmas levels of manipulation are disgusting as you stated then Taras are as well..no not insane...disgusting.
Venus is amazing..love the character
I think Tara's actions were somewhat inevitable at this point. She's tried for several seasons now to convince Jax to leave, he won't. Gemma is making it impossible for just her and the kids to leave. She's been pushed to the extreme, especially when it comes for how to deal with Gemma. It'd be nice if she didn't have to manipulate Jax, and he'd just let her go, but it'd be naive of her to take that chance. I respect her for being the only person truly putting the children first.
Alice isn't talking about you, Jax!
yeah , but he pictured like if someone talks to him about his sons...
Coggins is great ( with or without bOObs} Boyd Crowder is still my favorite but hes by far the best small role in this show
How old is this? I’ve already finished the series. Binged it through Christmas.

@@NikkiStevenReact and they respond!! You guys upload at the perfect time, everytime. Keep up the grind!
gemma is poison dont feel bad for her at all
Who still feels bad for Gemma?
Okay, as a mom I do 100% get Tara’s motivation and do not at all feel bad for Gemma. But, I did not like this or Tara this entire season. Before she went to jail jax told her to go to Oregon and he would follow. Perhaps if she had had another conversation with him, reminding him of the car accident and everything she’s been thru he might have agreed to whatever she wanted. 🤷♀️maybe not but I don’t think this was the only way.
Right!!!!!
Did you see Murphy from robocop.. Peter Weller.
Awesome reaction.
The alternate name of sons of anarchy should be smoke and mirror
Bobby's psychic shift
I clicked so fast lol
All this criminal activity going on, including, but not limited to the child video business and Robocop just stands there doing fuck all
The storyline with Venus’s mom Alice was one of the very few times I thought Jax didn’t shoot her enough. My goddaughter turned 6 on the first of the year, and I know both Nikki and Steven are parents, so I can imagine how they felt and how they would have handled that if it was them
Have you watched Andor, Clone Wars, or Supernatural?
fortunately i'm pretty sure yall both know that if Tara did this the way yall suggested that this part of the storyline would be boring AF.
Tara always acted like she was better than Gemma when she manipulated and used Jax just as much as his mother did.
Alic's speech hit way too close to home for Jax.
