I'm not sure, but I read somewhere, that Lifetime = 160.000 km. I replaced mine at 100.000 km. That is kilometers, mind you.. The old oil was slightly darker, but it didnt look terrible.
It's worth getting rid of the clutch delay valve too (as long as you don't do clutch dumps!!!), it gets you back the precision BMW gave away to bad drivers
I just put in BMW's owm MTF-LT-3. It's supposed to be a 75w/90 - GL4. I was looking for a Castrol oil, but in the end, I didn't dare use a non recommended oil 😅 I'm not a mechanic.. edit: Didn't notice how old this comment was.. sorry 😏

Did you manage to solve it? Do you mean the car kicks out of 1ste gear? Then it's possibly worn engine mounts or worn shifter linkage.
Pretty common issue to lose first gear in the 17bg it seems. happened to me and seems im not the only one
As i understand it from the animation, 6th gear is direct. Does that seem right? I thought it was 4th gear..

Wish they would do the 1 to 2 shift better.
Its now as bad as my Swift Gti lol. But indeed, our Z4 has a slight hesitation going into second. Its better after an oil change
@@ringbimmer Mine improved a lot with Redline Mt-LV gear oil.

@@233kosta Did that, didn't make an lot of difference. Changed oil to Redline MT-LF shifts much better now.

No this is a 6 speed gearbox.
Used in a range of their vehicles, 1er and 3er.
