Acorn armor also increases enemy aggro, so it makes you louder and more attractive to enemies. Not the greatest advice for new players

Yes and no mate. Unless your playstyle is to sneak, then it's still the best early armor for melee combat. Combat is necessary to progress.
If sneaking or the bow is your preference, for tier 1 I'd go Grub Armor. Easy to get, more stamina, and still moderate protection if you get in trouble.
@@That1Guy4Never I didn't say there was absolutely no merit to the advice, just that it's not the greatest, especially as you didn't fully inform them as to the downside and it's easy for me to envision someone who's avoiding combat looking for armor tips and stumbling into this and being misled.
Honestly even if you can perfect block everything in the game you typically don't want to attract extra attention, imo the acorn armor is just kinda for groups with a dedicated tank.
Agreed, I’d suggest going with the grub armor
I have my base right by the first research station. A little close to the anthill yeah but spiders dont bother me and I have an abundance of ant parts.

Well the acorn amour now need berry chunks so you may as well just make the ladybug amour
I prefer grub chest, aphid slippers, and eyepatch. Big damage big speed

Disagree the acorn armor gives you aggro, instead I think grub armor is best gear to get if you are going to the oak tree. When you spawn make a clover armor set, then go to tree and get acorn resources and make a shovel and get grubs.
When I first read this comment, I agreed full-heartedly and was planning to change this in future content.
However, since then, I have started two new multiplayer playthroughs (2 players and 4 players), where our day 1 goal was just that- get everyone Grub armor. I can say with confidence, that it's not possible to outfit 2+ people with full Grub armor without waiting several days for enough Grub to respawn to farm their hide. Takes even longer for 4 people.
In the time we wait for grubs to respawn, I've already got an Ant Club and Ladybug Armor.
So, if playing solo, yep Grub is the way - totally agree. 2+, no way.

What do I anyliayze to get dew collectors?
Silk rope. Collect some web fiber, build a spinning wheel, then use the wheel to produce the silk rope.
How do unlock the dew collector to craft??
Unlocked by analyzing silk rope. You can make silk rope by putting web fiber in a spinning wheel.
