Fun Fact Rory dedicated their new album dark sun to his father Dennis also he wrote 5 other songs on his dad's passing on the album along with the birth of how daughter Hazel. It's so beautiful and I cried throughout the entire album complete emotional rollercoaster lol
Besides a cancer uncontained and this one, what other songs? My dad is currently fighting cancer as well and I just found this band after seeing them live.
I don't think a full cd reaction would be inappropriate. This whole album was very good.
Man I have not stopped listening to it for around 2 months now. Ever since I found them.
I have seen them live about 5 times now and every time I get goosebumps. Rory's vocals live are out of this world! You should definitely check out their new album Dark Sun.

Uh hi, I'd like to lodge a complaint. My wife and I stayed at your bed and breakfast about a year ago and we could hear heavy breathing from outside our door in the middle of the night. Also a man with a bowl cut stared at my wife throughout the tour and never said a word to either of us. I think his name was Moses or something

Lost my Dad Dec 14th to cancer, 9 days before his 64th birthday, which he was striving for. This song hits me hard, in multiple way. Rory's voice is amazing !!!
This entire album is pretty much a masterpiece. This song came out after I lost my mum, so it hit twice as hard and I just started sobbing. Whoever said that music is what emotion sounds like was pretty spot on. Aside from "Pain Remains 1" by Lorna Shore, I think "Constance" by Spiritbox is the only song that's ever hit me as hard as this one did.
Dayseeker are really amazing live. Neon Grave was my favorite song live. The entire set was amazing
I just fell in love with this band after being awakened by their cover of Immortal. Had to wake up and find out who they were and get into their library. I was so hoping I would find you guys reacting to them. Then, to hear the live version of this blew me away. I'm so glad to see you guys again reacting to this

If you do react to more Dayseeker, it would be awesome to hear “Parallel” and then “Afterglow” in the same reaction video. These are the 2 last songs on their new album… Parallel is a hauntingly beautiful song from Rory to his father, almost a final goodbye and realisation that his presence on earth has ended but he hopes that his father is living out the next chapter of his life, wherever that may be in the universe… and then as the final song Afterglow kicks in (with a slightly more uplifting instrumental) Rory dedicates the final song to his daughter Hazel. These last 2 songs have me sobbing like a baby but I think its really cool to have them played one after the other as a reminder that as one door closes, another opens and with death, we often see new life arise elsewhere. I probably haven’t explained myself very well but it will make sense if you ever react or even just listen to the new album ❤

I agree 100% with Rory being better live. I saw them at blue ridge rock fest this year and their equipment messed up so he did an acoustic set. I had literal goosebumps head to toe the WHOLE set! Then again on the tour of the concrete jungle. Perfection live! Dont miss their tour this year with Silverstein!

Yeah, that is exactly what I thought it was but I then I read "dayseeker" and remembered, oh yeah not everything is tøp related lol
This song hit me really hard when I first heard it. Especially since just 2 days before it was released, I lost my dad 3 months after he had a heart attack. The fact that my dad managed to survive for 3 months was insane and it made the line in Neon Grave “you cheated death but now it’s real” hit that much harder for me on top of the song as a whole hitting me really hard. This song absolutely was my favorite song of 2022 and probably was the one that got me through the year the most out of all the songs I listened to.
You guys are so awesome. I am so blown away by how good you both are about feeling the music and understanding the message behind the song and instrumentals. I myself have lost a parent at the young age of 18, before I graduated high-school. All this music that has this specific message hits me on a very deep level because of that and makes me grateful that I still have my mom. She is my rock and I hold her near and dear to my heart. So thank you both for being such amazing people. Love to both of you and your family.
my mil passed two and a half years ago and my husband still can't listen to this song because it hits too close to home. this song is always playing when i think of her.
Thank you guys for giving this song the respect it deserves. Other reactors haven't seemed to show much emotion... So thank you for not just treating this as just a "cool/good song", thank you for actually giving a fuck about what this man went through. Losing a parent, or child isn't easy.

I saw them this past Sept. I drove myself 2.5 hrs and they closed with this song. I screamed my voice out so hard

Saw this live when they came through San Antonio. He was super emotional when they played this song and it made the performance more intimate. The crowd definitely felt what he was feeling.

I lost my father this past January. He was a vocalist and had a intense love of all music. And he raised me to understand that music is truly the universal language in this world. This is a amazing song that proves that statement is true.
Such an amazing song. Their song “Burial Plot (reimagined)”hit home for me when I lost my father. It’s one of two songs I listen to when I am missing him that explains exactly how I feel.
My dad is still here and this song gets me emotional, this just shows how amazing this band is and how amazing his voice is.
it’s not on the album, but rory has a song just completely for his dad called continue your song. and it is a roller coaster

Second (and less sappy), you guys should check out ‘Without Me’ by these guys. Fucking incredible, their most ‘pop’ song by far but easily my favorite along with ‘Drunk’ and ‘Crooked Soul’ (I think you’d have some really great experiences reacting to those two songs, incredible lyrical depth).

There song parallel Is a slower song about his dad but that one hits deeper taking about watching the color fade from his dad in a hospital room

Hope you react to the album dark sun. Without me dreamstate, midnight eternal, dark sun, quicksand, homesick, parallel, paper heart, crying while you're dancing and afterglow Hazel's song with Neon grave are all on dark sun. He did a stripped down version of sleep talk it was awesome

I love that you guys pay so much attention to lyrics. Rory is an amazing lyricist. He is great friends with Garrett Russell from Silent Planet who is also an amazing lyricist. I would really suggest checking out some of their songs as well. Panic Room has some of the most well thought out lyrics I've heard in a song.
