Considering the box was not made to hold cards and was intended as a artist box, I think that Broken Token did a great job making it work. I found out later that Broken Token makes one that sorts the card vertically which gives one whole extra row and because the cards are sitting upright, they are taller and fit closer the the top of the lid. I did try many different options to fill in the top and the foam was the best option. I tried plano boxes that hold the tokens and tried to find one that was skinny enough to fit in the lid, but nothing would fit just right, either too thick that ended up crushing down on the card dividers, or too much room on the sides to allow cards to slip out when moved. The foam was the perfect thickness and I could cut it out to fit the top exactly.
@@noreviewplaythrough4051 I see. The new "model" might be interesting if my collection grows that far. I have been making board games, from boards. I can't post a picture but I made a monopoly sized game out of a 1x10 (I got Hobby Lobby disks for the pieces. Haru Ichiban, Qawale, and Splendor Duel (I had to get the game for the cards.) in one 2" thick game with a "board" in the middle. I can't post pictures here, its ready for paint,. It has 3 internal boxes and the "insert" is the gameboard.
Did Office Depot cut your dividers for you? And it looks like you had them use the laminated that sticks on the whole card and not just the kind that requires you to leave an edge on them in order to keep them together (if that makes sense). They look very nice. Also, are the dividers the correct width as printed, or did you have to have them cut down in width and height to fit?
They did not. My wife had a cutting board, but I think they would have. (Probably for an extra fee). And yes the lamination is glued to the cardstock itself so I didn't have to leave and edge around the cardstock. The person who made them did a fantastic job.
@@noreviewplaythrough4051 I tried having the UPS Store do some for me and I had less-than-desirable results. For one, I don't think they printed at 100% - I think they let it expand to fill the whole page, so they are not the size I really wanted. Also, they didn't use the good lamination. And the did the cutting but they were worried about leaving an edge around for the lamination, so they kind of suck. I guess I will use Office Depot next time. Thanks for your feedback on this!
I made sure to ask that the copy was printed at 100%, they even printed the first one only just to make sure it was the right size. And I told them what I was using them for, and they guided me to the right card stock and lamination. Maybe I just lucky and had a really good employee that day.
Super awesome. Thanks for the rundown.👍
Your welcome. Glad you enjoyed it.
Great video thank you!!
Your welcome. Hope you found it useful.
Case is too big so you need the foam? You should build a latching door over that cavity to keep the rulebooks in .
