  • We brought JD to Southern Ohio to meet with a county rep to test the soil for Septic. While we have the tractor here it's a good time to start clearing around the old cabin. What is causing that terrible vibration on the ride home?

    In New Jersey, where we just moved from, you have to pay an engineer to design your septic system. The engineering plans start at about 3 grand. The septic system can cost you 30-40k. One of the reasons why we left and relocated in NC

    As I'm sure you know, Flag off the drain field once designed so no heavy equipment is driven across the area. An excavator can quickly compact soil and ruin the site.

    Interesting how each county does things differently. In Pike county (OH) the guy came out with a core sampler that he pressed in the ground and looked at the layers of soil from that. Fortunately, we were able to install a basic system with no pumps or aerators which was an essential thing since we are off grid.

    Had to replumb my entire house; both supplies and drains.
    Pipe sizes vary depending on whether it is PVC or CPVC and who the manufacturer is.
    All potable water supplies are to be CPVC per code.
    There are different adhesives for each type.

    I have a 2015 14’ utility trailer. After years of kicking around putting insurance on it last Summer I called my State Farm agent and asked what it would cost to insure my trailer. I have full coverage on my trailer just like my vehicles including road side assistance. It cost me $15 a year. Purchasing a spare tire was one of the first things I did after purchasing my trailer.

    Sounds like the pvc water line is CPVC which is a smaller diameter than pvc water pipe.

    Wow, that's one of my worries is that I'll have a flat on trailer. I do carry a spare. But a jack I do not have with me.
    Did you also install a rear tied down? The front ones where nice. Be watching for next video. God Bless, stay safe.

      I have not put the rear tie downs on yet. I do have decent tie down point with the backhoe on, but I could see using either or.

    I never liked plugs so yea use a patch. 😄 I'm kind of a trailer nerd. My last one came with Goodyear Endurance radials and I see no reason to run anything else. I usually try to go up 1 load class over recommended.

      I prefer a "plug patch". myself. :) I'll second the Goodyear Endurance, seems to be best trailer tire for the $$$ these days. Carlisle HD aren't too bad either, but not any less $. Best to avoid ANY China bomb, they are just waiting to explode like yours did!

    Just curious, why do you not want your video over 18 minutes ?

    • @ataleofthreecabins1025
      @ataleofthreecabins1025  Год назад

      15 minutes is the norm for us. It take a good bit of time to produce and edit weekly. Going longer invites more skipping or switching. I also wanted to devote more time on the subject of trailer tires.

    My neighbor had to put in a 30K mound system for their new house on 2 acres. The county ran a sewer line down their road 2 years later. They condemned the 2 year old septic system and made them hook up to the city sewer! Local jurisdiction can make you do anything they want and then change the rules later. I hope you have good luck with your improvements.
