R1 2000 5jj ,#01, first time look around, fuel sender,air filter, fuel pump and hoses....

This is just a quick first time look at my new bike, it is an yamaha R1 2000 5jj, it has been looked after cosmetically but what lurks underneath ?
a few surprises I am sure...

I've got the same bike. Likely the same issues eventually. There's revision kits for the 'pitcock'. Didn't work for me because it was leaking around the brass out pipe, which eventually also came off.

Hi after all this time I ordered a new tap from Ali express 😳 but the one I ordered has a reserve setting too just in case, I have repaired the low fuel light and it works a treat but doesn't hurt to have a back up ..

Wow if you think the floods and everything look bad on that bike you should see the piece I'm working on but it does look as dirty as the fluids though

Hi Yes it was Del Boy, I was quite shocked when he fired the bike up and fuel went everywhere.
It's funny nowadays admitting to watching a Del video is frowned upon :-)

thanks for video really useful. I'm getting one of these. the example I'm looking at has very low milage, from a collector, but will ask to open the bike up and inspect some of the areas you're looking at.
