- Learn "Morrison's Jig", a very common session tune all over the world associated with fiddler James Morrison, with Tunes From Doolin. This tune was requested by Chris Alley.
"Morrison’s Jig" is a very common Irish session tune associated with the great fiddler James Morrison from Sligo, who emigrated to America in 1915. I associate this tune with my friend Adrian McMahon, a great flute player from Kilfenora who learned many tunes from Peader Reilly. Kevin Griffin, the great banjo player from Doolin, recorded this tune on the album Across The Pond with Roger Burridge (fiddle), Roger Shorrock (bouzouki) and Quentin Cooper (guitar and mandolin).

It is a great tune, sometimes people won't play it because it's a "beginner tune", but even if it's not a difficult tune, it's still a great one!

I am a piper from Lume de Biqueira pipe band. Due to the pandemic we don't give concerts and I decided to learn concertina, i have been a year and half...i adore irish music,in my band we play many song(watch us on RUclips)

You probably get this often, but what make is your concertina. It has a great sound.
At the moment I play a 7Mount concertina, made by Ralf Schlimm. I've been so happy with this concertina, it's a proper concertina (not a hybrid) built the traditional way, super responsive and light. I'm not sure if Ralf is taking orders at the moment, but it's worth checking them out!
@@TunesFromDoolin the one i have thats close to what you have is a Carroll, its 10 played years old now, but it only sounds good when the humidity is right. Mostly it just hurts my ears. Should sell but it's very easy to play; my old Crabb is much better. Thank you for the reply.
