Holy shit. 2 unskippable 15 second ads for a 25 second video. Without adblock, the internet is dead

This is awesome. I wish the course i just took used videos like this. Think this video would be a lot easier to understand if it better specificied the e-brake/parking break (lower spring part of the enclosure) is disengaged when it has air pressure vs the service break(upper spring) which functions the opposite when it has/doesn't have air pressure.
Or maybe I should have studied harder? Lol

I think you made a mistake there. "When you press the foot pedal, air pressure DECREASES" if you ment to adress the air pressure in the spring chambers. You increase the air pressure to engage the brakes, and decrease it to engage the parking brake.

Yeah, I thought of the same so I came here to check on comments.

Exactly, applying the brakes should increase the air pressure in the brake chamber causing the brakes to be applied.... Nice diagram

Yeah, they got that part a bit backwards.

Excellent, and simple to understand. Air brake system is almost counterintuitive tho right? 😜

Yep!! Your foot lets air out..and the brakes apply themselves automatically with their springs...then you take your foot off pedal and air rushes back in to fight the springs & release the brakes.
