Thank you for that great speech. I, still remember that day at the Paradise Pizza when I had my birthday there and you were inside the restaurant with your sister the late Alaisa, she's my friend. You gave me a hug and a $100.00. You are a kind, caring and a loving lady. I wish you well in your ticket & God Bless!
A very impressive speech, Mary, and you certainly are a much qualified candidate for our executive branch of government. I am happy to see a woman candidate on a ticket and I congratulate you for being so brave and best of luck. It is a lot of hard work but if you don't try, you will never know. God bless and alofa atu😊
Ha😮 I thought your name is Maria Ofoia. I remembered you as a little girl. Your sister Vainuu and I are the same age. We were in the Nuuuli band together. I left Nuuuli in 1976 right after graduating from Leone HS. I was the last one to attend Leone HS from Nuuuli, everyone else already gone to Samoana HS that yr. I'm living in the USA 48 plus yrs. First time back to visit Nuuuli was 2018. So funny looking at people now, they're much older than myself 😮 I'm like wow😮, they were young then.
Thank you for your speech, I was lost because you spend 10 mins talking about yourself and all the accolades you achieved. I wanted to hear more of what you are going to do for the people. You should have mention 2 or 3 things that you want to change and provide some facts on how to make those changes. Good Luck...

Can an American Samoan, a U.S. National, be subject to deportation while in the U.S.? This morning, 11/04/24, I had a telephonic interpretation with one of the Oregon Courts. To make the long story short, at the end of the hearing, the judge said to the defendant, who happened to be a U.S. National: a violation of this court order, could result in 360 days in jail, $5 ,000.00 fine, and, if you are not a U.S. Citizen, you will be deported. This question whether a U.S. National can be deported came up serveral times during my interpretion services in the last 40 yrs. Shortly, in my interpreting service today, I reluctantly informed the judge, knowing that it was not part of my service, unless the judge interrogated me. Nonetheless, I have stated to the judge that the the U.S. National, could not be deported since Am. Samoa in a U.S. territory or part of the U.S. From experience over the years as a Samoan Interpreter & translator, the lawyers and judges are not quite familiar with the status of my Am. Samoan clients. They are so ambivalent about the status of Am. Samoans in the U.S. Fonoiā Frank A. Peters
