- This themed cabin rental is really taking shape. Today I start the floor system of the wheel house for this boat themed vacation rental.

As someone who's never built a boat shaped cabin, or anything.....I have compiled the following list of suggestions.... 1. Should have been born into a richer family 2. Should have had 4 Amish sons 18-20 yrs ago so they would be able to help 3. Being Taller could make many of these tasks easier 4. Stop wasting time sleeping, try to avoid that at all cost. 5. Add a waterfront view, redirecting the River would be ideal 6. Don't crash your Drone

Kleeman, don't listen to the nay sayers, I love the cabin, any one can build a simple box and put a bed in it, this is much more interesting, and you're right every one who stays there will remember it,

You know, there might just be a few people that will get their thrills from staying at the “beige box” inn who will write in the guest book just how exciting it was to have the extra square footage….nope, but it was just worth a shot. 😜

Ha ha, I noticed that as well. Then I realized his logic was long term and that he didn’t want to regret it later when there was limited to no access. This structure needs to be as headache and worry free as possible. As he said, glue is cheap and that it seals well…that comment depends a lot on having sufficient nails to force the permanent bond. He also talked about the clips being extra “insurance”.
This is a “one off” build that has his brand all over it. Since it was financed by viewership, he will want to have it represent quality. Although he says all the time that his labor is free…there is the real investment. Because he wants to protect against future (unexpected) “free labor”.
Turned some of those 2x4’s into Swiss cheese 🧀 really unnecessary.
When using a nail gun it is easy to throw in those extra nails. When using a hammer, you become more conservative.

Too many build to minimums and then complain when it begins to fail. Builders should stop being so cheap in the structure. Nails and glue are inexpensive. Higher grade sheet foods is inexpensive in the grand scheme of things. Pay up front or pay in the end. You're gonna buy it one way or another.

I believe youve said several times that the point of doing a themed cabin is to set yours apart from the many other rental cabins in your area.
Your RUclips Yacht certainly fits that bill.

Hello Mike. I can't write a short story here so I will keep it short. Folks can adjust their volume so they don't hear the air compressor. I hear it but know that it is needed for the pneumatic nail gun, I don't notice it really until you bring it up. Folks that say you are losing space have not been on much more than a canoe if that. Have good days!

It'a hard for an old man, to imagine the energy you have to get all the things done that you do. At 71, I don't think of myself as real old, but I work (tinker) at things a couple hours in the morning, and might get a couple more in after my ,after dinner nap, but if it's physical work, 2 hours a day can easily be my limit.

Having a time... I must say, original maybe but guts for sure. Watching wes work, he mentioned as a random thought... around fifteen thousand nails in a house... kind of wondering how many you will drive and make this a viable place to stay. Just wondering as you will get it done. Very happy to hear you mention a lift of dirt perfect will be a part of this struggle. I won't advise you as everyone else has spoken and sure enough, just let them talk and see if they can pack your water at the end of the day

As I was watching this video I got to thinking about people telling you how you need to do it. I wish I could help you, and give you some good advice/suggestions, but I can't because 1st I am not a carpenter, 2nd I am not a carpenter, and 3rd it's not costing me a dime, I just enjoy your videos. So you keep doing what you want to do, and you keep making videos and I'll keep watching them.

Maintenance on your foam gun goes a long way. I have one that's 9 years old. I neglected it for several years and yet with some maintenance it works like new. Use the can of gun cleaner. Spray and wipe off the tip after use. Close the valve when you're done.
Ive been using them for a long time. I leave the can on if short term. I put on cleaner if storing until next job. Never an issue

I think you best talk to your labourer about how they keep leaving timber in your way all the time. I guess that commenter doesn't realise that themed short stay rentals can fetch a premium compared to a box standard box with windows and doors

Nice to get back to the cabin. How about a pond, bridge to camping spot, animal barn, headquarters gym, stream crossing update. Just an easy vid about where it's at and next steps type thing. If open to content requests.

The Kleeman Khronikles continue....good progress of the rafter framing. Looks like that Vevor nail gun is getting a work out. I'd like to be the nail salesman for this project, a man could retire off the volume of nails being shot through that gun. As always, great content, great channel.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas and videos. Always find the dialogue with your shadow incredibly entertaining. I think the takeaway from this installment is the next cabin to be built will have to be a simple beige box with a view of the parking spot. I definitely appreciate that you lower the volume of your background music for your viewers. Was going to ask why you haven’t borrowed the power bank from the shop but I realized that that would mess up your established background music. Really appreciate the direction and details your putting into the build. When your finally completed with your build the bridge might be a great place to put a pan, tilt, zoom camera that the guests can control. You could even build a realistic set of controls as if it was a real bridge for them to see from the camera. Would be a great place to hide channel Easter eggs for them to find hidden amongst the charts and logbooks. Wishing you and your family the best.
