This song is such a brain-twister, after knowing their sound all these years...yet it still works. These guys are good songwriters. They seem to get better and better.
Idk. Ive been obsessed with them for years but tbh they're out of balance. They just feel gross. Guy was pretend Christian preaching Jesus saving him while doing meth. His hair is thin as shit. It's just desperate to keep people past their expiration dates and the entire band lost all of their integrity
I'm seeing Underoath live tomorrow night with some friends, I'm stoked because I haven't seen them in quite some time. Reliving Myspace profile song days .
I don’t think this is as experimental as people are making it out to be. This is still clearly Underoath. The breakdown, you could argue, is harder than ever.
The only other Underoath songs I know are Writing on the Walls, Hallelujah, and Pneumonia. This makes me very keen to do a deep dive because I can see they're not afraid of evolving and experimenting. I love bands that mix it up!
Yes ❤ no matter what when you stay true to yourself you put out amazing work… I was just at the show in Chicago last night. It was my ninth show… My first show with underoath was March 2005 in Milwaukee you guys are fucking incredible.
They’re cashing out. I’m sure Underoath as a whole think a 401k is a type of laser. Think aboot it.. If From First To Last is to Emily. Skrillex is to a mop head that can look like Sonny. #freejames #elderemo #wutang
Just saw them play this live in Seattle without having heard it before and was really into it. Studio version is awesome too. Spencer kept asking if people would come out if they came back on tour. The crowd was really lame but that’s Seattle. First time I’ve seen them live and I’ve been a fan since 04.
Like what the fuck dudes. Magical. What a fucking twist. People called them out copying BMTH, and this is their answer. Don’t ever compare underoath to anyone else. You’re gonna get bitten.
I don't even know how people could say that, their sound is so much different than BMTH. BMTH has wayyyy more pop elements than Underoath. (Not that that's a bad thing, I love both bands individually in their own ways)
I'm so glad I stay off social media and can't hear the insufferables who expect a group of 20+ years to sound the sound. I've loved every era of Underoath since I discovered as a teenager over a decade ago. I'm just happy one of my favorite artists is still making good music. Other fans aren't so lucky.
Don't care what people say or think been og fan since Dallas days and this is right out of their play book of left field and it is amazing keep it up guys I'll see you dec 3
Took me a few listens because I was not expecting this. Sounded more like one of the songs you’re featured on than a true Underoath song… I think the last time I felt this way was when you dropped “Unsound”. I am totally here for this. The intro, the vocals, the drums… feels like the MuteMath, Underoath and (newer) Korn collaboration that I never knew I needed. Can’t wait to hear more! I think your evolutions are why you’ve been my favorite band for nearly 20 years.
The Mutemath name drop is so unexpected yet weirdly accurate. They were the kings of using sampling in their work. One of the most underrated bands of all time.
Comments on social media and reddit made me think this would be bad and unrecognizable as underoath but of course it was just classic fans not wanting to let artists be artists. 'Why doesnt the band sound like they did five albums and 10 years ago' vibes... This is nice and fresh take on underoath. Excited to see how it fits in an album with other more traditional songs and maybe even more experimental songs? Good stuff.
@@NefariousHourOfMusic 100%, you could even argue that every album since TOCS to Disambiguation was different, minus the gap between LITSOS and Disambiguation (those had very similar dark themes), but everything post disambiguation has been hard to swallow as even remotely "good". i get it influences and styles change, but this is dog ass
@@mikehancho7172 I agree that the last 2 albums really arent that good but even Voyeurist had a few moments that shined and felt semi-underoathy (if you could call it that) but this doesnt have any hint of UO at all.
@@NefariousHourOfMusic voyeurist only has a few moments that sound like underoath? What?? Whether you like the album or not, wow, what a take. I'll be sure to weigh your opinion on this new song not being underoath at all accordingly.
Always come back to Underoath. Old and New. This is absolutely phenomenal and layered. Aaron and Co. never cease to hit me with something new and special that resonates. "Feels like forever since I've had an ounce of hope. Want it to be over, but I'm learning how to cope." Both in the context of the narrative as well as out of context and being open to interpretation is a line I just needed to hear. Makes me feel less alone lol. I hope to hear more like this from the gang. So happy they're still with us. ❤️

we got underoath drum n bass before gta6
I wish we didn't.
when new underoath drops life is great
This song is better than anything underoath has ever written. Its not whiny emo bs. @Gooman130

this is what makes me love music….when GOOD bands experiment and it works
Heard this for the first time in concert the other night, definitely a great way to be introduced to it. Lights and lasers everywhere!
So glad to see you wonderful still kicking it. So far, Thorn and You're ever so inviting I tend to keep on repeat.
I love so many Underoath songs, but Thorn really has a special place in my heart too. It is an emotional engram on the soundtrack to my life.
If Sonic the Hedgehog was in a band with Shadow, this is what it would sound like.
This song hit ABSOLUTELY HARD live!
im here for anything from UO, they're the best!!!!!
