  • Today we are trying a local authentic Chinese Restaurant being the Dumpling and Hot Pot Co Authentic Chinese.
    I chose the prawn dumplings along with spring rolls and sweet and sour pork, all was absolutely delicious, piping hot and not bad on price!
    Whole feed for just under $44!
    If you are ever in Canberra and around Belconnen I would highly reccomend.

    Food looked really good Tim, nice one getting the tray. Handy addition for the food reviews. Interested to know what the food items were in the open counter at the restaurant? Do you choose what you want and they cook it there or is it takeaway and you cook at home? Hopefully you can let me know if you know.

      @@GiuseppeBasile ye mate those ingredients are for when you want to make your own hot pot or soup. They are fresh ingredients and you can choose whatever you want. Not sure if you can buy them for home though.

      Might have to try that whole combination one day! Ye the food was definitely on point and like I said I am happy to pay the price if it’s good quality.

      We have arguably THE best Japanese restaurant where I live. The food is superb. I think you'd struggle to get it as good in Japan!

    I love a good prawn hargrow. Apparently they're not hard to make, but they look fiddly, so I'm happy to buy them, or cook the frozen ones at home.
    Initially I thought what you got was a bit pricey, but I don't mind paying a bit more if the food is really good. All that food looked really good and you clearly enjoyed it. I much prefer sticky sweet and sour pork, than the really runny stuff. I think I would have enjoyed that pork.
    I use several places here. It depends on what I want. One place does great beef in blackbean, another sucks. That place may do the best spring rolls, whereas the blackbean place sucks.
    Great video, and I'm glad you finally got your tray!

      Ye it’s hit and miss when it comes to multiple Chinese places so I am glad you have got a few options where you are. I can’t say I have had prawn hargrow before so that might be another thing on the list to try!
      Ye the tray isn’t too bad, have to work it in as it isn’t the best fit on the steering wheel!

    • @IamJaneS
      @IamJaneS Месяц назад +1

      @@Rapid-5 Your tray looks very similar to the one my husband bought. Fits absolutely perfectly in my medium sized hatchback. Doesn't fit quite so well in his medium sized 4WD. The steering wheel must be slightly larger than mine. You can get it on easily, but it sits at an angle.
      I wonder if 2Aussie puts his tray over the top of the wheel, rather than the bottom, which would show the food off better, without having to tilt the camera down? Due to opposite shifts, I won't have access to my husband's car until Tuesday, but I'm going to see if that makes a difference sliding it from the top down.
      As for the prawn dumplings, I get mine from the freezer section at Woolies or IGA. They often come on half price, so I stock up. I just whack them in a microwave safe container, sprinkle over some water and then nuke. If you get the Mr Chen brand, it comes with a dipping sauce included. They are a nice easy Sunday night dinner.

    Canberra/Belconnen local here. Have you tried Chinese Inn at Kippax? Been going there for 20+ years.
