I really wish the story mode replaced that boring journalist with Lei! He would've fitted way better and would've made the story more bearable at the very least.
But then they couldn't bring him back later as DLC to gouge money out of you
Good idea, definitely a missed opportunity. They could have done it like Kolin in SFV, she was part of the cinematic story mode and then in Season 2 she was a playable character.
Well, this might be an unpopular opinion, but I get where they were coming from regarding the reporter. He and his family were supposed to mirror and contrast Heihachi and Kazuya. Lei has no wife nor children, so he wouldn't have fit the role. As for the monotone voice, part of me thinks the reporter is currently telling the story to someone (doesn't matter who they are) after all those events occurred. And due to him being generally depressed, his voice is monotone. However, there are times in the story where he's supposedly agitated, but he maintains that tone. Maybe the voice actor was told to intentionally go for such a bored voice but they went overboard with it.
@Mico Media True, but you can just change it so that he's explaining the story to the press or something of the sort. It would still be more meaningful than whatever that narrator did.

Yes but still has more unique costumes for each characters. In tag 2 they mostly share all the same tshirt. Tag 2 is only more because of the clown items, halo, balloons, etc. But in terms of realistic clothes, tekken 6 has more. You can even change their shoes separately. In tag 2 it's only top and bottom.
I don't even care if they start selling Tekken 6 Costumes DLC, Tag 2 Costumes DLC, Hairstyles DLC, etc. I'll buy them all, just release them! But no, it's been 3 years already and Tekken 7 is almost dead already. Does people really care about Noctis or Negan?

My biggest problem with this game is the offline/single player content. Yes, I care about that stuff in a fighting game, online is cool of course but I've always loved single player content in Tekken.
They took out team battle, time attack and survival, arcade mode is only 5 stages, and on top of that the AI is absolute trash, it doesn't even know how to do combos, most of the time it does a launcher and then one hit and that's it. It's just a fucking joke. Playing this game on the hardest difficulty is like playing Tekken 5 on normal. It's weird because I've been playing Soul Calibur 6 lately and the AI is fucking brutal on the hardest difficulty, I just wish Tekken 7 had an AI like that.
It's such a shame that Tekken 7 has all of these issues because gameplay-wise it's the best game in the series IMO
To be fair, Time Attack was literally the same as Arcade Mode. They could just save the time you get on Arcade and put it on the leaderboards instead of making another mode for it. It sucks that Team Battle and Survival (for those who like Survival) got taken out though.
And I can't even choose who will I fight next in Ghost Battle. What the hell?
sc6 ai is brutal because it counters your moves with step or a faster attack, but they still cant punish just like in tekken
The arcade mode bosses are also a joke. Devil Kazumi doesn't even do combos and float mid-air like her treasure battle counterpart. Akuma is just the same, not even the boss Akuma from story mode. Their moves are boring and nothing game-breaking (but still possible to beat) unlike Jinpachi, Azazel, and Unknown. These previous bosses were intimidating and gave me a really intense feeling when fighting them. Meanwhile I'd rather sleep while fighting Akuma and Kazumi.
Also why still stick with 5 stages, and not even make Akuma and Kazumi separate bosses instead of a chanced encounter?

for me big killers are
1. Lack of character themes
I feel that since tekken 3 the characters have sometimes lacked character especially the newer ones and back in the day character specific stages and themes really gave you a feel before you even went head to head with an enemy and even if the roster is too big just have day and night stages for different characters in arcade, like there is so many new characters and only one of them seems interesting while the others are forgetful for not even having a proper story arc or any noticeable personality traits aside from claudio feeling like a jojo homage.
2. arcade mode/endings
The arcade mode is like 5 fights and done two of which are sub boss and boss battles that are easy as shit. idk about you but i want my arcade mode to be a gauntlet through the roster where the final boss is challenging and rewarding to beat. also arcade used to come with a non canon ending for the game which again if you go back to T3 were teaming with character, xiaoyu's anime ending, Mokujins ending, eddy's yoshimitsu. there is this feeling of care that just seems gone from the franchise as they have doubled down on the competitive aspect of the game being the focus.
3. story mode
It was horrible, we all want an explanation of why akuma is in the tekken universe (shit just say this is an alternative reality from the SF canon where this version of akuma exists in the tekken world and you have your reason). having heihachi be a protagonist isn't too bad when you realise they made an intermediate execution character the main character which will scare off newcomers to the series, have a protagonist like lars where his execution is easy at least. the way the story jumped around at points was jarring.
4. Story mode difficulty
This one did me in, i'm all for difficulty in games but that difficulty should never be artificially enhanced as padding. i noticed from my first fight with nina she had more health than usual and seemed to abuse super armor. then again with claudio abused super armor and an unstoppable projectile this early? worst off you can't even use the projectile in actual play so it's just a fuck you and if you tone the difficulty down the game seems intent on you using auto commands so you can spam electric god fist with a single button.
gameplay is great but the depth in offline and extra's is lacking for a fighting game.

Yeah about the lack of offline modes, what happened to Tekken Force Mode? It doesn't have to be as elaborate as Scenario Campaign from Tekken 6, but works well when players are given a generic setting to beat up Force soldiers like in Tekken 3 and Tekken 4.

I agree, that Season 2 ranks doesn't mean anything. I am average player and easily can get high light blues, while in season 1 I had trouble keeping on to purple ranks.

@@supersonicstep I'm guessing, that if people can see the ranking points, it makes easier to avoid harder opponents and beat weaker ones. Fact that you can gain anything by beating 15+ lower rank opponents are sad weird and calls for cheating. Combine that with people who use PC system, that stores save game on your own hard drive and you have high ranks full of average joes who know nothing about the game. That makes ranking for real players incredibly easy and also devalues everything what Tekken rank use to meant.

The movement of the game has been very nerfed ( what i most like of the game), now you just block almost all the time, the most funny part was to dodge like in tekken5 sidestepping away from a variety of moves and all that cool stuff, now fights are more boring even to watch

This Tekken is the laziest installment yet.
All of the older games character endings took place outside of the stages.
They couldn't even be bothered to use much CG, almost all of the cut scenes use ingame models.

How hard is it to add survival mode, time attack or team battle when all the assests to create those modes exist in the game already.
They only had to change the rules for the matches, it's not like they had to recreate anything from the ground up.

Overall they actully nerfed Gigas... His buffs dont outweigh his nerfs.
They removed most of his + frame on block moves, made his df1 the worst in the game and gave his useless moves buffs that still don't help them from being any less usless.
His character design is still badass tho, especially if you're a Gantz fan.
Everything except for the gameplay is fucking embarrassing.

1. Offline content. C’mon man it’s poor.
2. Story. Bad story and include a non-Tekken character to a CANON storyline.
3. Guest characters. Way too many guest characters (4 including Upcoming Negan) when we should have more legacy staples like Julia
4. Anna and Lei being paid DLC where it shouldn’t
5. Poor customization compared to TTT2.
6. BAD soundtracks. NO soundtrack in the game impressed me like T5DR Snow Castle (which was a masterpiece) or TTT1 Ogre.
7. Ranked. Since season 2 in particular. Many things are wrong, too lazy to list.
8. Lucky Chloe. A random idol with no power or actual fighting style. Why is she a fighter? I will never know.
Everything else I’m fine with. There are characters that have dumb moves as mentioned in the video but this is one of the most balanced Tekken to date so I’m ok with them.
6- About Soundtracks, Give a chance to Brimstone & Fire both rounds. Heat Haze Shadow (1 and 2) is amazing. Fight Night, Mishima Dojo, Aloneness, Kazumi's Theme, Devil Kazumi's theme. Give a chance to Story soundtracks, I've been enjoying them ever since T7 got released.

Here’s everything I don’t like about Tekken 7
1. Soundtrack is really bad. It’s just a bunch of dubstep, & it doesn’t really sound like Tekken music for the most part
2. Customization is actually really really bad & limited for people like me who like making cute costumes
3. Characters like Anna being DLC when they should already be in the game
4. Offline content is meh
5. The replacements are like..why ? Gigas ? Josie ? Master Raven ? Why did they feel it was necessary to change them. & I love Josie But I would’ve preferred Bruce.
6. Adding characters like Shaheen & Katarina but giving us absolutely no reason to like them. Seriously, who is Katarina ? We don’t know because they don’t explain her; she’s just there.
7. Why is Eliza a KoF / SF character now ? This is literally one of the most random things I’ve ever seen like why she was fine before..

Alief Prophet “For the most part” means some are good. Infinite Azure Round 1, Jungle Output Round 2, Devil’s Pit Rounds 1 & 2, Midnight Closet, Solitide, the first 15 Seconds of DEVIL KAZUMI, & The Long Goodbye” are the only good ones in my opinion.
The music in this game makes my ears bleed. The customisation is so limited and my main Anna doesnt even have a proper character episode. And dont even get me started on the offline mode or stages.

I love Tekken 7 but still uninstalled it due to the toxic playerbase.
Latency abusing, disconnecting, macros, lag switching, spamming, rage quitting, hate mails... the players ruined the game.

Changing the privacy setting doesn't change the rest of the problems I mentioned though. I mentioned the saltiness in particular to provide a fuller picture of the bad sportsmanship I have been experiencing, but would consider it the smallest problem on my list.

I can agree with most of this. The general lack of modes; particularily for offline really sucks penis, and even Tekken 6 had better customization options then this.

You lose points quite badly and appear with a coloured username so u get exposed to the community.
However, I do agree its not very Harsh on PROMO MATCHES.
That's only if you do it wrong. If you do a DESYNC, rather than a DISCONNECT, there will be no punishment and the other person won't even get a win.

DC penalty is also in the save file...you can just load with an old copied save and get your normal color back.
@@bigsteve1894 you can easily dodge RQ penalty by disconnecting your modem/wan cable from your router. This way the game knows you are still connected to your router and that "it isn't your fault" you disconnected
Can we make a "True Tekken" Mode that *DOESN'T* have rage art, so these lazy ass players have to EARN their damage please? I am also disappointed they are making Lei Wulong less Jackie Chan-y, and more of this corny american voice

I wish it was Lei who was in the story and not the reporter...because as a DLC there is no role that he plays and that is real sad....it would have been nice to see him in the end standing with Lars,Lee and Alisa with Jin heading of to fight Kazuya...also it would be nice to have a fight scene with him and Kazuya...just my thoughts...it just sucks he wasn't in the story.
They should also put cameo characters in Tekken 7 story mode

Too many cutesy characters for a fighting game, horrible episode endings, short KO animations (for people who can't handle the post KO hit disrespect), no KO replays and the worst music ever in a Tekken game (thankfully they included the dukebox).

i disagree with the win quitters. before there was no rematch option and you'd most likely move onto somebody different (which i preferred). i prefer a fresh opponent at the end of every match and because this new revenge rematch option is here makes a win quitter if i win and don't want to rematch and a rage quitter if i lose and don't want to rematch. that's some bs.

In my opinion, they made this game completely wrong. I would’ve been fine skipping T7 and playing Tag 2 until T8 releases. I would play Tag 2 instead but my PS3 controllers are shit and not many people still use their PS3.
I always find someone on rank battle really quickly. My main team is Armor king and king.
You can connect your ps4 controller to your ps3 with a USB cable. That's what I do because my ps3 controller isn't that great either. Just make sure you have a long USB cable haha

- *Poor customization:* Yes; It's been going downhill ever since T6. Not having decals really, REALLY hurts, especially.
- *Fight Money:* Yes; I generally disagree with the idea you can have too much but I do agree it doesn't have enough uses.
- *Eliza shouldn't be in the game:* No; You can eat a fat dick. Eliza is sugar, spice, and everything nice.
- *No frame data:* Yes; Harada continues to be a big, fat meanie when it comes to making frame data available.
- *No X-play:* Yes; Feels Bad, Man. But ultimately out of Bamco's hands.
- *Hard to get games as beginner:* Yes; I thought it was just me, but it seems to be a legit issue.
- *A.I. is trash:* Yes; The CPU does a piss-poor job of preparing us for the woes of online play. It's a true disservice to us.
- *No punishment for RQ'ing:* Yes; Unfair. But at least there's D/C rate transparency. For that, I'm HELLA grateful!
- *Rematch system is a blessing:* Yes; Agreed in full- with that and all subsequent points.
- *Nerfed movement:* Yes; I have a hard time creating space and forcing whiffs to punish 'cause my KBD isn't yet flawless.
- *Fugazi leaderboards:* Yes; Kinda kills your drive to aim for the top.
- *Lack of offline modes:* Yes; I couldn't agree more. Why can't I fight the CPU in VS mode to get better at the match-up?
- *No practicing against DLC characters you don't own:* Yes; It is a dick move on Bamco's part.
- *#BuffLars**:* No; He's had two straight games-NEARLY A DECADE-of being a royal ASShole. He can sit this one out.
- *Unused characters ranking up across the board:* Yes; I can see why they did it this way, but I'm not in favor of it.
- *Online ranks saved locally on PC:* Lul; Glorious PC Master Race.
- *Infuriating attacks:* Yes; But that point isn't unique to Tekken 7. IMO any unseeable low that either *a)* does considerable damage on its own, or *b)* can lead into a combo that does significant damage, is an "infuriating" attack. It's cheap. And Hellsweep has always felt cheap to me, regardless of the Mishima performing it. It just took a top player saying so for everyone else to jump on the bandwagon and take it into consideration.
Tekken Tag 2 really did have better customizations but it was too much

However it's impossible to side with a dbag like heihachi or a mass murderer like Jin.
Kazuya is easier to root for, he is like Tyrone lannister and his suffering makes people want to see his journey to the end.
The comics really ruined his character

3. have a annoying trope of him "just wanna be strong " as a character trait with a personality of a brick wall.

You forgot: 4 skyscraper stages with a helicopter in it. The two gcorp helipads, mishima building top, and twilight conflict
Fortunately, this game constructed its gameplay and mechanics very well, because if it wasn't for that, this would be the absolute worst Tekken ever. Sorry but a fun gameplay and online experience for me is not enough to call this a good Tekken game.
i dont like how the game looks on this engine, i prefered t6/ttt2 graphics engine, t7 looks way too candy for me
and as i really love Dubstep and DnB, i think the soundtrack doesn't fit to the game at all imo
