It’s crazy how one of the best stories of the entire kingdom hearts franchise is being told through a mobile game. In my opinion they need to release Kingdom hearts 3.5: KH3 remind for current gen, KH melody of memory and a cinematic like X back cover that tells the story of Union Cross and Dark Road.
This might be my biggest gripe with the series, I literally can care less about playing this game on my phone, I’d rather watch and play it on my Current Gen
@@apolloforabetterfuture4814 To be fair, I think an LN is most likely. Union X (as well as some other games from the series) has already been adapted into a light novel format. I'd say it conveyed the story of UX pretty well, though barely had anything in terms of visual representation.
1:04:53 That lend me once to a theory how back in KH3, Ansem (Xehanort's Heartless) was trying to find Subject X who we assumed it could be Skuld, and if that's true than maybe he wanted to seek for her because she and his mother look the same, perhaps he thought they could be connected. Ansem DID says in KH3 that part of him wanted to defy his fate, thus he must have tried to seek his mother (maybe). Also, someone needs to say some words for Woody, you know, after what he said to Young Xehanort in KH3
Aqua was a fully trained master. Upperclassmen were still in training and had a "Practice Trip". And it seems that extra strong resistance to Darkness is one of conditions for passing Mark of Mastery (Riku literally passed his exams due to that). Also it is implied that Corridors of Darkness have very high concentration of elemental Darkness (hence you need Coats or Armor) but Realm of Darkness had quite a large quantity of its Darkness compressed into Pureblood Heartless - which are dangerous due to their aggressive nature but at least concentration of Elemental Darkness is lower. I mean Sora with "D" in Darkness resistance while extremely exhausted was pretty fine in KH2 taking his time on the dark shores chilling out with Riku.
@@Ghostel3591 Or, you know... there was an extremely strong dark being that the classmen weren't aware of that surprise attacked them and killed them before they could react? I feel like that's a much better explanation since Aqua only had the Heartless to deal with in the Realm of Darkness.
@@lukasruston8618 the ones who got attacked by Corrupted Baldr in Corridors of Darkness were underclassmen - and only ONE pair was attacked - Xehanort and Eraqus collapsed with their armor on w/o being attacked. He just went there like a Light knife through butter and picked kids up w/o ANY PROTECTIVE GEAR. That's Keyblade MASTER for ya - Truly an example of "fear an old man in a profession were people die young".
@@Ghostel3591 Yeah but this person was talking about the underclassmen... also, no, all of them were attacked by Baldr/Darkness, you see all of the upperclassmen die because of them, you see Hermod and Urd killed by them and you can clearly see them stood by Xehanort and Eraqus when they collapse, you can even see them warping around in that scene, specifically throwing darkness at them. The only reason Xehanort and Eraqus survived I assume is cus Baldr was hesitant to kill Xehanort and Odin showed up before he could get himself to do it. The reason everyone died is 100% because Baldr/Darkness surprise attacked them and not because of any darkness in the corridors.
@@lukasruston8618 original comment was comparing Underclassmen and Aqua's performance in terms of handling toxic environment. Not their survival when attacked by being of Darkness in every possible place. STRICTLY IN CORRIDORS OF DARKNESS/REALM OF DARKNESS. Which I pointed out considering presentation throughout the series apparently work differently. If Realm of Darkness is a giant stockroom for dead worlds with Darkness condensed into sentient forms while low to medium concentrated Elemental darkness slowly corrodes Heart of anyone who gets there (because high concentration lumps became Pureblood Heartless and they don't spread Darkness via "Air") then Corridor is like a vent between with higher Elemental Darkness concentration but no Heartless in it (because you don't live in a ventilation shaft - you need to have standards) Also we were discussing specifically THIS moment - an event between Baldr's killing spree in Enchanted Dominion and massacre in Scala Ad Caelum. Not about Baldr going out of his way to shank 2 out of 4 stuck there but their general resistance to a place compared to Aqua's - all 4 underclassmen who ended up in Corridor of Darkness (courtesy of Hades) were showing signs of fatigue even BEFORE Baldr showed up to kill one group - what happened to Eraqus and Xehanort (losing consciousness) would've happened to other two anyway but Baldr sped up the process by breaking their armor and leaving them at Death Door. Basically if we want a more solid comparison just compare how well Master Odin handled this place compared to kids - which means KB Wielders with Mark of Mastery are supposed to have such levels of resistance to environment - hence Aqua being a master lasting so long in most likely less aggressive environment should be a logical end result of her achieving the Master rank.
Your reaction to this always makes my day! Your reaction to Bragi as Luxu and Xehanort is the descendent of Ephemer was spot on, pretty much how we all reacted. Great job on the reaction Cynical. 😊
It has been stated time and time again that Sora was the Understudy who was promoted to Leading Man. First taking up the Kingdom Key meant for Riku, and now the title of Child of Destiny meant for Xehanort. Kind of makes me wonder what other failed heroes Sora is going to need to take up the mantle for.
Sora might not be Special but Riku is, and Kairi is, and Ventus is, so Sora is special by Proxy. And this is because the Master made it so. So the Master took someone ordinary and he wrote them into a Story where their Role is special.
I think people misinterpret the child of destiny as being a chosen role the universe gives for some reason. But I think it's really just a description of someone from the book of prophecies, in basically the same way as the traitor. The person mentioned wasn't destined to be special, they just did those things, and that's what was written down. So Sora isn't special because a magic book said he is, he just chose to do good and because of that, managed to succeed, and that was written down as a prophecy.

In Sora's case we even don't know Sora's predecessor / his parents. The mystery since KH1! Maybe they are someone from KHuX similar to Xehanort or from a more near past, like KH Dark Road or BbS or maybe an even more distant past like pre-KHuX?? Or it was just a story plot device and there is nothing to worry about 😅 xD But overall, Dark Road is a great story, which connects KHuX and all the present KH games very well, especially KH3. But man, this story would be an amazing movie, if it was a ~3h animated movie instead of a 2d gacha visual novel 😭 Great video!
I just realized. Xehanort doesn’t have any friends, He was a baby in missing link so Xehanort thinks he has friends but it’s the player friends that he want to see. Xehanort was looking inside the player ❤️ so Xehanort thinks he its his friends but it’s really the player friends he looking for. Wow ! and at the end of dark road it’s makes it clear
I still believe in the theory of Vor being Kairi's Grandma. If someone can have more than one lifetime in KH, in other words REINCARNATION, Vor could still technically be Kairi's Grandma.
22:41 There's 3 spaces when he says his name, my best guess is Asa (meaning Morning), or Rex ('cause Verm Rex?). IDK, but his man is messed up and I LOVE IT!
I am going to laugh if the MoM's name is Arumon or an anagram for Nomura lol. Because Nomura is JUST LIKE him, he knows all the answers and enjoys toying with us lol.
God I’ve missed you. You doing videos, ESPECIALLY KH videos! And the many voices! #JaredforVAKHVillain I love you so much you have no idea! Definitely among my fave RUclipsrs
The Master of Masters seems like he's there to deviate the path of the child of destiny. I wonder if Riku was supposed to be the chosen one then he embraced darkness. It would be awesome if the Master of Masters approached Riku in KH1 or before the events if KH1 and talk him out of his path. Which is why the keyblade took to Sora.
Remember the Child of Destiny has the power to become one with other Hearts. And Riku becomes Sora's Dream Eater, and bonds his Fate to Sora. In KH1, the Light you see when they go into the Darkness is Riku Light touching Sora's Light. So they are the Child of Destiny as One.
35:53 I still can't believe you completely skipped over the start of that scene cause you thought it was old 😭 had some real profound lines, too Damn these kids for always hanging out in the same place :^p
it killssss me too how its all on mobile!! but I am so glad I waited for your reaction to this ending, it was all too worth it seeing you get crazy hyped over Luxu and the bloodline!! Also I listened to your voice acting just as if it was a part of the original , 10/10 xD
Well there has to at least have been 1 child of destiny prior to Xehanort otherwise Old Man Player wouldn't know about it. I think personally that Child of Destony simply refers to people like Xehanort and Sora who can sense what's in people's heart it just depends if they are egoodnor evil and if they ach8eve their destiny.
28:26 and also, now I know why and how xehanort can't mentally controll Terra from hiw own body unless xehnort inserts himself like the puppet master he thinks he is. aaand now I'm even more confused, not to say tooo much but is Riku's stereo type more related to elsa's cuz I don't get them at all but to see that stereo type as distantly farther from earth than normal.
I think the "Child of Destiny" is Sora but Xehanort was thought to be since he had similar powers, in a similar sense to Luke in Star Wars being the Chosen One but they all originally thought it was supposed to be Anakin.
48:42 no sinacle, you got it right the first time, Baldur is afraid of the darkness, since elsa isn't born yet, and he might be related to herm but if she gets possesed by that darkness then a Witch is the problem all along with maybe a demon mashed potatoe. that looks like poo.
Your reaction to Luxu and the player was pure bliss 😂 Also, people keep saying the MC from Missing Link is the player in his second lifetime, but I don't think that's the case; Nomura tricked us into believing Xehanort was the player and look what happened. At this point, I'm expecting the player to actually be the villain of Missing Link 😂
When old Xehanort says his hair loss is a "demonstration of my resolve" he is suggesting that he is so dedicated to his task that he has continued his quest into old age.
I think pretty much everyone thought that the Child of Destiny was Baldr, or Xehanort, or possibly Riku (silver hair? could he also be a descendant of Ephemer?), but then it turned out to be this random kid in Sora. It still keeps Sora as this random normal kid that Nomura wanted (and Riku being related to Ephemer would make that even stronger, since he'f be of the Specialest Bloodline) while also solidifying his role for the Lost Masters arc. When you make a character see the future, its impossible to NOT have them see your protagonist, so I think this walks a good balance between making Sora special (which he's always been, Ansem talks about it all the way in DDD, this isnt a new concept), but not making him a classic Chosen One. He IS, but he's not the expected one. He came out of left field. I like that. (So Nomura wouldn't be full blown lying, the truth is just a bit more complex than what we expected. It's not that surprising given that it's KH, lol. If this doesnt convince you, heck, he's changed his mind before. Saying that Roxas had Ven's heart inside him and thats what caused him to regain his feelings is an obvious example -- Roxas wouldnt be able to be his own person if his feelings came from Ven!)
On that ending conversation, I think Sora's "Special" I do not think he's "Unique" I think Dark Road is meant to show us that there are many others like Sora who go on varied different paths. (Xehanort/Baldur) I think what sets Sora apart is just a never say die attitude, and the fact that he has what I think is the MOST FORESHADOWING ITEM IN THE ENTIRE SERIES... His basic Keyblade. Nomura goes back and makes freaking everything important... So why, tell me why. Does Sora (and Mickey for some reason?) have the Kingdom Key? Literally a "normal" key compared to other keyblades but the most ominous in it's name "Kingdom Key" literally "The Keys to the Kingdom" it's a term for having permission to do ANYTHING. But I've always suspected there's a more literal meaning. I think there is a "Kingdom" that only the two Kingdom Keys can unlock. It's not Kingdom Hearts (we've proven that can be opened a MULTITUDE of ways) or if it is it's a MUCH more literal meaning of it because that keyblade is SO important and stands out to me so much.
Random thought, the white hair is showing some link to blood lineage, maybe riku can be a descendant of the ephemer tree, making xehanort a distant cousin uncle lol would make a little sense since he resonates alot now with Ansem. Very entertaining thought 🧐
A thing about the Child of destiny I've always considered is that maybe it might've been BOTH Xehanort and Sora, the two of them fulfil the condition the old player said, and they both had a hand at changing fate. Edit: Not sure why I only watched this after 4 freaking months but here I am lol
11:35 They gave us Dark Road which should have been at least a cinematic movie that would have been such a badass to watch and instead they gave us KH3 with their budget went to slowmo Sora in Realm of Darkness so that he can show off in front of his boyfriend Riku. Smh
this has convinced me that even tho the phone game looks like complete shit, im going to have to play the new one 100%. its going to be irritating but i have to for the story because it feels like 50% of the whole story is in the damn mobile game at this point and that fucking sucks.

But overall, Dark Road is a great story, which connects KHuX and all the present KH games very well, especially KH3.
But man, this story would be an amazing movie, if it was a ~3h animated movie instead of a 2d gacha visual novel 😭
Great video!
Xehanort’s great grandfathers 2nd brother, twice removed’s butler thats sora’s great grandfather XD. I’m joking obviously
2:59
You can't believe it, Jared? Well don't worry, cause it looks like you're in good company.
I mean at Eraqus and Xehanort there :v
Listening to you read in character impressions made this the best dark road reaction I’ve seen on RUclips
I don't know about that one, Chief.
22:41 There's 3 spaces when he says his name, my best guess is Asa (meaning Morning), or Rex ('cause Verm Rex?). IDK, but his man is messed up and I LOVE IT!
1:01:33 "That's MUSHU! Obviously he traveled in the past and got a keyblade yeahh.
I am going to laugh if the MoM's name is Arumon or an anagram for Nomura lol. Because Nomura is JUST LIKE him, he knows all the answers and enjoys toying with us lol.
1:19:10 Bro, what if Sora is a descendent of the Master of Masters?
Fantastic video! Love your reactions to mind blowing lore
God I’ve missed you. You doing videos, ESPECIALLY KH videos! And the many voices! #JaredforVAKHVillain I love you so much you have no idea! Definitely among my fave RUclipsrs
Really love four description for this video! So good I think!
Master of Masters gives me such Joker vibes 🤔. Can't wait too see him being a full fledged villain in kh4.
so happy to see your back uploading content ❤
THANK YOUUU FOR UPLOADING
I guess this confirms that Olympus collesium's underworld is where everyone goes when they die in Kingdom Hearts? Is Mufasa there I guess?
35:53 I still can't believe you completely skipped over the start of that scene cause you thought it was old 😭 had some real profound lines, too
Damn these kids for always hanging out in the same place :^p
I can't believe you edited out Eraqus walking like a carpet.
it killssss me too how its all on mobile!! but I am so glad I waited for your reaction to this ending, it was all too worth it seeing you get crazy hyped over Luxu and the bloodline!!
Also I listened to your voice acting just as if it was a part of the original , 10/10 xD
You skipped the best part 💀
'Is that eraqus ?'
'Yep walking like a carpet'
Thats right were not Xehanort we’re Xehanort’s foster parent
So basically Jared wants Baldr to have James Earl Jones' voice?
5:02 is peak Jared 💀💀 this is the content we are here for 😂😂
Well there has to at least have been 1 child of destiny prior to Xehanort otherwise Old Man Player wouldn't know about it. I think personally that Child of Destony simply refers to people like Xehanort and Sora who can sense what's in people's heart it just depends if they are egoodnor evil and if they ach8eve their destiny.
I swear when Eraqus does his tantrum, it looks more like he has to pee.
This ironically came out on my birthday... I had an awesome day because of this reveal
The realization at 1:01:24 is Chef's Kiss
Your reaction to Luxu and the player was pure bliss 😂
Also, people keep saying the MC from Missing Link is the player in his second lifetime, but I don't think that's the case; Nomura tricked us into believing Xehanort was the player and look what happened. At this point, I'm expecting the player to actually be the villain of Missing Link 😂
I like how xehanort amor is basically his xemnas amor in kh2
Still rewatching this until we get anything for kh4 😢
He has a full grown mustache now brilliant
I was SHOCKED with all these plot twists!!!
We were THE OLD MAN?! XEHANORT IS A DESCENDANT OF EPHEMER?! WHAT?! THAT IS NUTS!!!
interesting, i think i've just genuinely cried for the first time in like 6 years
On that ending conversation, I think Sora's "Special" I do not think he's "Unique" I think Dark Road is meant to show us that there are many others like Sora who go on varied different paths. (Xehanort/Baldur)
I think what sets Sora apart is just a never say die attitude, and the fact that he has what I think is the MOST FORESHADOWING ITEM IN THE ENTIRE SERIES...
Baldr’s heartless looks like an Occuria
Totally forgot about dark road. Makes me said I can't even play the other mobile game anymore, I really liked that one.
Yea it cuts deep to know knowing that we raised the person that started all this trouble
Skipping to episode 7! Priceless! Lol
Random thought, the white hair is showing some link to blood lineage, maybe riku can be a descendant of the ephemer tree, making xehanort a distant cousin uncle lol would make a little sense since he resonates alot now with Ansem. Very entertaining thought 🧐
Man, I hope they make a book about these. I think that would be fire
The Lumiere voice caught me off guard and is SO GOOD.
love the reaction :)
If it wasn't 3 in the morning, I would be SCREAMING right now!! OMGGGGGG
Me getting to this part in God of War Ragnorok where the dark and light elves are fighting over the light.
If you get it, you get it.
Imma eed you to do another lore video after this information
Xehanort is like Anakin in stars wars as both were meant to be heros and save the worlds but fear and worries made them take the path to darkness.
Make Jared the master or masters after this immaculate voice over 🤣🤣🤣
Xehanort fits pretty well as a twisted perversion of the Child of Destiny prophecy.
You have drip with that mustache
WE THE PLAYER ARE THE OLD MAN!!!!!!!!!!
i think its really cool Johnny Depp is a huge KH fan
What music did he uses in 11:11 - 11:15?
A thing about the Child of destiny I've always considered is that maybe it might've been BOTH Xehanort and Sora, the two of them fulfil the condition the old player said, and they both had a hand at changing fate.
Edit: Not sure why I only watched this after 4 freaking months but here I am lol
I just loved the baldr voice
ngl when you voiced baldr, you sounded like plankton from spongebob lmao
Baldr: Noooooooo
Also, what I think Baldr would say after.
Baldr: But who would I eat ice cream with?
IT'S BEEN A HOT MINUTE!!! Welcome back, Cynical!!!
4:31 imagine being called bald, by a mirror.
I really enjoy these upper class man character. Hopefully they get fleshed out in a few future.
1:01:23
THERE it is haha
