The PPG wave 2.2 Synthesizer from the year 1982 is one of most fascinating synthesizers ever. You can find a lot demo videos, sound tutorials about the Wave and the Waveterm in the PPG wave playlist.

Ah, vocal creativity. And a toy is like a super computer. Very mesmerizing.
:)))
Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Propaganda.
Just mental how advanced for the time!!! Thanks for showing us.
thank you
Alles gut!
jep :D
Thanks for the video. I love seeing people doing sound design on these rare machines.
thank you for watching :)
This is just beautiful!!! Really.
I can even imagine Keith Emerson playing this one on Karn Evil 9 mid 80's. Though, it would extend the playing time for another 30 mins to reach the intended sound. However... it is marvellous.
thank you :)
fascinating instrument. thanks for sharing
thank you :)
Awesome piece of electronic music history !
Amazing, professional, creative sound treatment features available in ... 1982... way ahead of its time !!!
Thumbs up & thanks for the visual & musical moment through this rare PPG Wave 2.2 / Waveterm A Sytem demo... especially in this great cosmetic & functional condition !
Teilen Sie Ihre Leidenschaft durch diese magischen Momente ! ;-)
thank you so much my dear friend :)
You're welcome my dear friend !
Fully deserved, once again ! ;-)
That’s beautiful.
:)
Thank you. This is so cool! 💥🚀💥
Thank you for watching
I feel home, thank you
home computer. :)
What a great video ; thanks
thank you
Another interesting upload. Does this take a lot of maintenance to keep it working, or is it built with good old reliable components?
what a freaking cool machine!
:)
Beautiful stuff, thanks!
thanks :)))
Cette machine est incroyable !
:))
That's neat, strange too, PPG wave had some interesting stuff or add one, a complimentary little sound studio to go with it.
:)
used a wave 2.2 at MusicLand Paris (Francis Mandin shop and mixing studio) for our 3rd EP and mixing our 1st LP project. Frederik Rousseau was my mentor, then. Amazing machine even if, sadly, we never had the Waveterm!
yes agree with you
Looks like computer from Aliens ))))
:D
Yeah It does. Game over man, game over! We're in some real pretty shit now man!!
Peace ✌️ out people
It's a pity that we can't see the Ppg Realizer!
The grand grand grand dad of my Waldorf Quantum.
yes
Wolfgang Palm is should win the Nobel Prize.
agreed :)
Ein Traum!Warst du einkaufen?Das Teil ist hart.Bitte mehr davon.Hammer!
Ultravox....
That was good.
:)
The UVI Waveterm library is a good source for those without the budget - but sadly lacks the editing features of the original.
yes its only a sample player for the library
I think the PPG Waveterm and Fairlight CMI are the only devices I know of that use 8" floppy disks.
yes indeed
Anything special needed to be done on the 2.2 to hear the sample properly? have the same setup and cannot read the sample yet. Just got the Waveterm working 2 weeks ago.
load the factory program in the 2.2. program 80 is reserved for the communication with the Waveterm
Other than the waveterm, fairlight + synclavier...were there others that were capable of 8-bit resynthesis in particular?
well done. have you figured out the sequencer? the English instruction manual is very hard to follow!
thank you.
the sequencer is for masochists
RetroSound good thing I am one.....but alas, only in the bedroom
Watt a Treat
:))
You should do "Daisy" by HAL 9000 from the movie 2001 A Space Odyssey.
o yeah :)
Endlich können wir mal sehen, wie fett der Oberheim wirklich klingt ... 😉
Ja sehen statt hören....:D
Didn't Patrick cowley use one of these?
I think yes
You can now do this today on an iPad with AudioShare, WaveGenerator, and WaveMapper!
yes but without the charme
@@retrosound72 No offense, but at least in the American dialect, we spell charm without an e at the end.
No offense but atleast the rest of the world took the effort to learn another language,
So whenever u feel the need to whine about spelling or grammar, feel free to reply in German
@@XHALE303 Sorry
U are forgiven :) But realise that the WWW doesn't mean USA, but is refering to the remaining 95% of the world,
thank u very much
👍🏻 Any famous track/artist using this device?
Most FgtH tracks , Propaganda, Robert Palmer, The System, Ultravox, Gary Numan....
