I would love to get into UT, that would be amazing. I’m stressed if I will get admitted. I have a 1010 SAT and a 19 ACT. I’m not the best test taker but hey, I tried. I have a 3.9 GPA, and will have completed 30 hours of dual credit by graduation. I’m captain of my cheerleading team and am a member of a college readiness program. I am rank 56/432 and have some community service hours. I know this is a lot but any advice or words or encouragement through the college admissions process? **Update I got denied :(
Aaliyah Rose dang, I’m just seeing this but to be completely honest I think your test scores are a little low, but besides that u seem like a great, well-rounded student
Hi, Kevin, I am an international student from New York. I really want to apply UT Austin. I got 3.8 for GPA and I did do some extracurricular activities and service hours. But I just got 1100 for SAT. Can you tell me how many percentile I will get into this college, please?
I'm a junior in high school applying next year. My unweighted gpa is a 3.7 and I'm involved in many activities including baseball, football (freshman year), national honor society, key club, and the school youth ministry. I take two AP classes and have two dual credit college classes. I am in the top 10% of my class but not 6% I need to been in for automatic admission. I've been on an official visit for the university and the Mccombs school of business. What should I do to improve my chances of getting admitted. Texas has always been my dream school and I've grown up being a Longhorn 🤘🏼
Do you think top 16% in 5th hardest district in Texas, 1560 SAT, 3.9 GPA. Starting and being co-pres in a robotics club, making nats in that once, and state twice and 125 volunteering hours. 2 good teacher rec letters and a good essay. Is that enough for class of 2022
Question: I just got admitted as a transfer student to Sociology. My 1st and 2nd choices were Psychology and Health and Society. My goal is to become a physical therapist. Even if Sociology is a BA degree, would I still be able to take additional science courses to fulfill my prerequisites for PT school?
Definitely :) you can search "pre health professions." Most people think only of pre-med, but the office at UT covers all of the health professions like physical therapy, physicians assistant, ophthalmology, etc. Anyone can take the prerequisite courses and there are advisers on campus who can help with this.
I really want to attend ut but i don't have a good gpa and sat score and my ranking isn't too well but it was because of personal problems not academic will i still have a Chance?
I applied to UT by the priority deadline and I cant stop thinking about receiving my acceptance or not in February. My SAT score is not as high as the avg for UT applicants, but my rank is 86 out of 756 (top 11%) and I've been involved in sports and clubs throughout high school, as well as 40+ community service hours. I really wanna get in, but I don't know if I have a decent shot or not. help ):
Sorry to hear you're worrying about your admissions decision. It sounds like you could be competitive for admission. It'll just be a matter of waiting. I know it's not easy.
Guys I’m scared. I’m a freshman in a private high school and my GPA was very bad this first semester. So bad that I was south of a 3.0 in this first semester of my high school career. I play sports and I’m in a few clubs but I’m scared about my grades. I really want to go to UT Austin but I don’t know if I can get in now. I’m not in any honors or AP classes. I’m turning it around right now but I just want to know if there’s still a chance.
I guess if you're from Texas then trying your best to be in the top 6% of your class will give you a big chance of getting in by auto acceptance... But international students who takes IB like me have to stand out in that 8-10%. Don't give up buddy
just keep trying man, you have plenty of time to adjust your gpa & get your academics like you want them. just know when it’s nearing the end of your junior/senior year, it’s too late, so do the best you can now! i got in & i’ll be attending mccombs this fall, don’t doubt yourself! best of luck!
Will I automatically get rejected if UT sees that I’m only in the 35% percentile of my class? I have a really small class, only 85 and it’s competitive and I’m so sad bc UT Austin is my dream college ):
do you know? I think my uncle is giving me money but I think the college will help others with fanancial support like loans but it depends on the college so you may have to look on their website and do research or find others that go there

What if I'm top 11% with theatre and choir and Uil under my belt, and I'm graduating with 25 college hours. 3.4 gpa.. my act score is horrible.
Daniel Garcia just try man!
What if I have a 4.0 gpa, but a low sat score, so will I still be able to get in into this school?

Is it difficult to get accepted if you are from out of state?
only 10% of students are out of state or international, so it isn't easy
