The first time I tried to watch someone play this, I didn’t even get 3 minutes in before I had to stop watching because of trauma flashbacks. I love how the game very subtly foreshadows that you actually got k1lled by your alcoholic father. “Red face” - alcohol makes your face red. “Loose neck on the doll” - your father str4ngled you. “Closet brings you to another dimension” - you got stuffed in The closet when you died. The scene where they move the alcohol bottle - The dad getting drunk. “Dad has been taken away” - your father fled to a motel after k1lling you. The kids were hiding in places where they died. Your mother finding you hiding in the closet - your mother finding your corpse. It’s genius, and the story is amazing (ironically)
Here's a little piece of environmental storytelling that I think you missed Yub. At the end when Ron appears with the other kids, noticed that the closet is there too. The closet was were his body was hidden. Look at the other children with them, if you pay attention, the places the kids are reside on, are the ways their bodies were also hidden/gotten rid of. The little girl on the right buried, the boy on the campfire burnt, the boy on the car trunk well... Hidden in the car trunk. I think it's such a genius way to do storytelling without a full exposition dialogue box. Oh and of course it's not bad to be into messed up stories, as long as the stories handle their subjects with care like this game did, I don't see a problem with that. And no, you're not bad for liking them. You are a really sweet and kind person, so liking stories like these doesn't make you "evil" or anything like that

Hey YuB you should check out Endoparasitic. This isn’t really related to Bad Parenting but I don’t really have anything to say about Bad Parenting that hasn’t already been said (it’s a really good game, story’s phenomenal, etc) You play as this scientist dude who had both his legs and an arm ripped off so you have to crawl around on one arm with a bunch of guns and try to make your way off the lab you’re on. It recently got a sequel that also seems pretty good, probably better. It honestly feels a little like a rage game sometimes because of how unforgiving the inventory management can be at times. You run out of rounds like right before a big boss thing usually lol
I noticed that at the end all the kids where in spesific spots because thats how they died/where their body was left, because if Ron is in the afterlife theyre all dead too, and at the end Ron is seen sitting in a closet in his friend circle, just like he was when his body was discovered.
One thing that's totally not important but I wanna mention anyway. There are many very healthy couples out there who sleep in separate beds. Everyone has different sleeping preferences and if one or both partners are unable to get a restful sleep because of temperature, movement, noise, medical equipment, etc., it can actually help the relationship a LOT if they sleep in separate beds or even separate rooms. Couples report having more restful sleep and waking up less irritable or stressed. So, yeah. The parents in this game sleeping separately is supposed to be a "hint" at problems, but in real life it's not solely indicative of that.
Yeah when I first saw the separate beds I was like "erm yeah that's not very surprising becauseeee bad relationship" but I think it's a nice reminder that partners sleeping in separate beds doesn't always mean something like that Especially since I'd probably end up sleeping in a separate bed too (as much as I love my boyfriend)😭 cuz it gets way too hot when I sleep

i’ve been wanting to watch a playthrough of this game, but i’ve been hesitant because i grew up with (and unfortunately still live with) an abusive mother. i didn’t know how triggering a game like this would be for me, so i held off for a while. i’m 20 and in college now, but i’ve been watching yub since i was in high school, and i felt comforted enough to watch this playthrough because i know he’s a good parent himself. thank you for handling the subject matter well while letting us enjoy the game experience too, yub ❤️

The main kid died in a closet, the girl died in a ditch, the kid with the green shirt died in a fire. And the diaper kid died by suffocation in a trunk. Hope this helped YuB.
1. Dad and Mom had an argument, which led to the mom leaving that night and the dad did him and hid him in the closet. 2. The dad left the house the next day due to guilt / to freed from his crime. 3. The mom came home the next day late as always but didnt't see the dad, so she thought he left due to her threat. 4. Ron's ghost could only be seen at night, which meant everytime she came home, her son was always there, so she didn't realize he was already gone. 5. The doll / Ron's inner self tried to have Ron made peace with what happened, but since the horror was too traumatizing for the child to bear, he just repressed that memories again and again. This is why the mom talked about how Ron talked different stories everyday, but the doll had always been a common factor of them. 6. As a last straw, instead of having Ron experience the horror of what the dad did to him directly, the doll created the Mr. Red Face's version of his dad and made Ron defeat him to save his parents and establish a bit of peace of mind, so hopefully, Ron didn't break and reset once again. This worked and Ron finally realized what happened. 7. At the final day, the mom decided to stay home with Ron. However, when she woke up in the day, she didn't see Ron at the dad's bed ('cause he couldn't appear at day time). She searched for him and found him in the closet. As for the medications, she probably thought of his stories as nothing more than just a child's hallucination, hence the 'I don't know what's wrong with you' dialog. So maybe the pills were to treat hallucinations? 2. to cure his 'sickness'. The mom prepared food for Ron everyday, but since Ron can't eat for obvious reason, the food left untouched (or just a bit), hence 'Lately, I've noticed you've been getting lazy about eating' in the note. Maybe she thought he was sick or something, so she brought medicines for him in hope of improving his eating habit. Also the box that ron found the doll in, in his room represents casket in the end The place that he found the other kids was afterlife, and the condition the kids were in, was from I suppose is how their bodies were taken care of and hence in the end ron was in the closet
Random lore I made up 2 seconds after watching: at the end the boy is in the closet with the other kids, but notice how they each are inside smth that is their portal meaning each child had their own doll baby in the truck girl in the hole and the other boy in the fire meaning they are all in a loop and they formed that little group to try and break the loop. Really hope I become famous for this lore

Interesting how the kids at the end were all in pretty strange places. -the girl is in a small hole dug in the ground -the boy is in the fire -the baby is in a car's trunk(I think?) With the ending twist taken into account, it's pretty obvious what this is hinting at.
Not obvious to a lot of people, they think it’s how the kids died which is fair to think at first but if you really think about it that’s not quite right. It’s really how the kids bodies were hidden/destroyed, Burning, hiding in a car, and burying are all ways murders do that. It all makes perfect sense because Ron did not die from a closet

The reason this game is so close to home is because my dad had an abusive father growing up and this shows how bad being a bad parent is. My dad is a good person and he works as hard as he can to keep us going

Hey YuB you should check out Endoparasitic. This isn’t really related to Bad Parenting but I don’t really have anything to say about Bad Parenting that hasn’t already been said (it’s a really good game, story’s phenomenal, etc)
You play as this scientist dude who had both his legs and an arm ripped off so you have to crawl around on one arm with a bunch of guns and try to make your way off the lab you’re on. It recently got a sequel that also seems pretty good, probably better. It honestly feels a little like a rage game sometimes because of how unforgiving the inventory management can be at times. You run out of rounds like right before a big boss thing usually lol
I noticed that at the end all the kids where in spesific spots because thats how they died/where their body was left, because if Ron is in the afterlife theyre all dead too, and at the end Ron is seen sitting in a closet in his friend circle, just like he was when his body was discovered.
It's crazy that all the other RUclipsrs are all scared and traumatized after playing this game but when Yub plays it he just looks uncomfortable
One thing that's totally not important but I wanna mention anyway. There are many very healthy couples out there who sleep in separate beds. Everyone has different sleeping preferences and if one or both partners are unable to get a restful sleep because of temperature, movement, noise, medical equipment, etc., it can actually help the relationship a LOT if they sleep in separate beds or even separate rooms. Couples report having more restful sleep and waking up less irritable or stressed. So, yeah. The parents in this game sleeping separately is supposed to be a "hint" at problems, but in real life it's not solely indicative of that.
Yeah when I first saw the separate beds I was like "erm yeah that's not very surprising becauseeee bad relationship" but I think it's a nice reminder that partners sleeping in separate beds doesn't always mean something like that
Especially since I'd probably end up sleeping in a separate bed too (as much as I love my boyfriend)😭

for the part where you meet those kids in the afterlife their environment is based off how they died, one got burned alive, one buried alive, and one suffocated in the back of a truck

the kids in hell are in the spot's they got unalived, including ron in the end.
the reason ron doesn't know he's dead at the start, is because he's too innocent and young to.

27:46 I think the end with the kids shows where or how they died. They probably shared the same story as Ron and did the same thing, making up stories. Ron is in a closet, where he was left. The black haired girl is in a hole, probably where she was buried alive or just buried after she died. The baby looking one is in a truck of an old car, probably got run over, crashed, or left in the truck and, the orange-haired kid is near a fireplace, probably where he was burned or cremated.

i’ve been wanting to watch a playthrough of this game, but i’ve been hesitant because i grew up with (and unfortunately still live with) an abusive mother. i didn’t know how triggering a game like this would be for me, so i held off for a while. i’m 20 and in college now, but i’ve been watching yub since i was in high school, and i felt comforted enough to watch this playthrough because i know he’s a good parent himself. thank you for handling the subject matter well while letting us enjoy the game experience too, yub ❤️

Exactly, many people did not catch that
The main kid died in a closet, the girl died in a ditch, the kid with the green shirt died in a fire. And the diaper kid died by suffocation in a trunk.

1. Dad and Mom had an argument, which led to the mom leaving that night and the dad did him and hid him in the closet.
2. The dad left the house the next day due to guilt / to freed from his crime.
3. The mom came home the next day late as always but didnt't see the dad, so she thought he left due to her threat.
4. Ron's ghost could only be seen at night, which meant everytime she came home, her son was always there, so she didn't realize he was already gone.
5. The doll / Ron's inner self tried to have Ron made peace with what happened, but since the horror was too traumatizing for the child to bear, he just repressed that memories again and again. This is why the mom talked about how Ron talked different stories everyday, but the doll had always been a common factor of them.
6. As a last straw, instead of having Ron experience the horror of what the dad did to him directly, the doll created the Mr. Red Face's version of his dad and made Ron defeat him to save his parents and establish a bit of peace of mind, so hopefully, Ron didn't break and reset once again. This worked and Ron finally realized what happened.
7. At the final day, the mom decided to stay home with Ron. However, when she woke up in the day, she didn't see Ron at the dad's bed ('cause he couldn't appear at day time). She searched for him and found him in the closet.
As for the medications, she probably thought of his stories as nothing more than just a child's hallucination, hence the 'I don't know what's wrong with you' dialog. So maybe the pills were to treat hallucinations?
2. to cure his 'sickness'. The mom prepared food for Ron everyday, but since Ron can't eat for obvious reason, the food left untouched (or just a bit), hence 'Lately, I've noticed you've been getting lazy about eating' in the note. Maybe she thought he was sick or something, so she brought medicines for him in hope of improving his eating habit.
Also the box that ron found the doll in, in his room represents casket in the end
The place that he found the other kids was afterlife, and the condition the kids were in, was from I suppose is how their bodies were taken care of and hence in the end ron was in the closet
Random lore I made up 2 seconds after watching: at the end the boy is in the closet with the other kids, but notice how they each are inside smth that is their portal meaning each child had their own doll baby in the truck girl in the hole and the other boy in the fire meaning they are all in a loop and they formed that little group to try and break the loop.
Really hope I become famous for this lore
the kids at the end said earlier in the gameplay that they were also looking for their parents, yet at the end we see them:

on fire
in a truck
and of course, ron in the closet, where HIS body was stuffed.
this means that a child was either buried alive or died in her grave, one was burnt alive and the other was murdered and stuffed into the back of a car. and we saw ron's cause of death, which is disgusting. this game makes bile crawl into my throat.

You didn’t notice this, but almost every RUclipsr who played this noticed it at the end you’re in a closet because you DIED in a closet the girl in the hole was burred alive,the guy in the fire was burned to death,and the guy in the trunk was kidnapped and killed

With the ending twist taken into account, it's pretty obvious what this is hinting at.
Not obvious to a lot of people, they think it’s how the kids died which is fair to think at first but if you really think about it that’s not quite right. It’s really how the kids bodies were hidden/destroyed, Burning, hiding in a car, and burying are all ways murders do that. It all makes perfect sense because Ron did not die from a closet
