Sorry, but nope the best is devinetly sam bur... Okay lets say, people can discuss about flavours... I just dont like this squared layout of the roads. Its really ugly (in my opinion).
Your videos are so relaxing to watch. Like a Bob Ross of city skylines 😜. Thanks for the enjoyable content and helping people learn about this fun game.
I was thinking of Bob Ross too while watching this. We'll put some happy little trees over here ... maybe a little light density over there just to break up the visuals a bit.
Generally I wouldn’t put too many two-lane roads that close to each other but I like your logic with road design. The only bad thing about curvy roads is the frequent direction changes will limit building capacity on the road.
You might want to consider reversing the two one way streets at the 17:30 mark. As it is they force traffic to cross over lanes which will more than likely create a bottleneck.
It’s also a bad idea to widen the road at 17:40 mark because the one way road he has at the beginning will force oncoming traffic to merge and go left making said bottleneck worse.

Really love your road layout skills mate!! gives me a lot of great ideas on how to escape the dreaded battery :)
Hi, thought I'd share a quick tip on measuring out the center point (ie. the action taken around 9:30) between two roads. Just simply click once where you think it is and then drag your mouse along the road to each edge to get the measurement, without having to commit the road. If you're off, just right-click and replace your cursor in the correct position.Keep making videos, I'll keep watching; thanks.
Your videos are actually amazing, I was watching them in a hotel, and you made me so motivated to play cities skylines I couldn't wait to get home, keep it up 👍👍😁
No joke, my cities always failed before I watched your videos. Whether it was the traffic or the electricity, something always went wrong. My city now contains 10k people and keeps growing so I just wanted to say thanks. No where near as frustrated with this game as before lol. xxx
Just recently got the game and I've already watched most of your videos. Such an awesome job with explaining and everything. You are a mastermind when it comes to city layouts. I hope you'll have time to do more of these tutorial like videos. Keep it up!
Great video I subd. I have a max height waterfall with dams in a star pattern around it falling down into an elevated (to the highest livable height) inverted tiered city with 2 giant natural canals out flowing to two waterfalls into the river. It’s actually my very first build lol It’s the reason I got the game, because I saw someone do an inverted tiered city and thought I could do way better. I placed all the hospitals, police stations, bus lines, incinerators, etc. I just need to know how to zone everything. I’m just going to keep my save and experiment. Go completely high density and reload and scale back as needed. Should be interesting.
And it’s insanely hard on console with no mods...... Took literally all weekend just for the landscaping.......... Took the guy in the video I saw 3 minutes. If that lol
I officially watch your videos whenever i am having trouble. Thanks for the vids. Keep up the good work. I downloaded this for free, and i am thinking of getting dlc. But cant decide which one to get.
Love your city! And your vids, but my city suffers when I connect the highway to avenue's, just a tip if you use one way streets going up and down your city connecting to the round about and to the highway makes my life a breeze, and separating the express lane and the turning lane was genius! 😂I can see you have experienced bad traffic in the past just like me,
Your videos are absolutely amazing! Only recently started playing C:S and I'm super jealous of your cities. Keep making videos so I can continue binge watching them :D
As we talk about realism we should grow up the city a little bit before installing a big transportation hub. 20 K seems not enough for me. Btw...very nice episode once again!
Curious as to what turns on those cool looking one way arrows? And that neat little thing that tells you how many units your road is going out. Mine only has the line that you have to look and count on.
You're the Bob Ross of Cities Skylines..."why don't we go ahead and put a little tramway line over there, there, see just minding it's own business, not hurting anyone"
I really like these "helpful tips/guides" videos that focus on growing/touching up an already existing (10k+) city, but I am having trouble finding them all on your main channel. Is there a playlist that organizes them all together? I found one for starting a city, but there doesn't seem to be one for videos like this one.
oh i think you thought they wont level up but i mean they wont even appear if you still dont understand i mean like when you build a house and its under construction i mean its not under consruction and its not growing-its not building
N00b here, so pardon the obvious. When you play "for the achievements" do you have to turn off all the mods? Or are there some mods that don't affect achievements? (edit: for instance, my version of the game doesn't have that temperature guage on the status menu. Is your "vanilla" different, or was that a diff edition of the game?) Also, at 29:54 (+) you mention that you haven't unlocked the crematorium yet, which unlocks at 16,000. Still looking through your tutorials, but would one of them happen to be the "how to be rich as f*k before 16,000 souls"? You started that video with 770k+ money units! I'm pretty sure I'm playing it wrong at this point, hence my search for tutorials where I can leverage other peoples learning curves. So far yours is one of the best I've seen. Finally, you give a list of the mods you use (thank you, and "OMG that's a long list!", but would you have an article somewhere about the assets you like best and why? Or would that be one of those "eek, there's how many???" lists that's probably mostly stuff you made yourself at this point? I can see how this game can get addictive. Got it at the recent Steam sale and I just did something I haven't done in *years* - forgot what time it was and was surprised by sunrise.
Hey there IJ. I'm new to the game, so I am loving all your easy to follow tutorials and guide. I think I am finally getting to grips with the terms units, etc. I noticed on this guide there was the length of roads in units popping up over your road. Is that a mod? If so, what is it please.
Page Up & Page Down control the heights of the pillars :) You can change the increments of the elevation on the lower left - it's a bar that goes through the circle on the left of the road selection options.
Thanks. Are you using it for length of roads. I hear alot of clicking and you are way more accurate than I seam ro be able to achieve. Thanks for the great vids you have given me some great tips.
Wish there was a mod that you could have a rainy day account... instead of all the cash in one account...also it would be nice to have is like detailed reason why my citizens wont expand more.... I get to about 50k to 70k then it drops to 40k to 50k...
ok what's the deal with HD Commercial? My city seems to never use them, They use HD Res. & Offices just fine, but the Commercial zones always say "not enough goods". I have some reg. Ind. zones near them, but I still get the same thing. I just use LD Commercial & I don't even bother with HD Commercial, they never work for me.
It's thanks to the Precision Engineering Mod - steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=445589127 Super handy!! I've also got this list of mods here which is more updated! www.reddit.com/r/CitiesSkylines/comments/6ixot3/list_of_useful_game_mods/
+Edwina Joy Nakitende thanks for the feedback :) I use Shadowplay to record, but you'll need an Nvidia card for that - I use OBS for games that Shadowplay won't work with.
hi, I'm just started playing the game, but I see you having the green arrow sign when you design your road, may I know to do so to adjust the direction of road...thank yoy
You are the Bob Ross of cities skylines
I think I've found channel with the best content for Skylines.
This zoning is a piece of art.
oh why thank you!
Glad you found me :)

If you guys want me to make an episode out of growing the city a bit more before the transportation hub just let me know!
As many of these great vid. as possible ;) :D
Well alrighty!
:D
Do you also have problems with your road extension mod? I only have the standard roads :/
nice videos, keep them rolling... Oh and consider this as letting you know :p
In wait I'm 2 years late
i fell asleep to your tutorials last night. best bed time story ever. thanks man. subbed!
Same here; watched the tutorial on the transportation hub. After some 10mins or so, I was on my way into dreamland.
Glad to see I’m not the only one who implements collector/express lane for on/off ramps.
I was thinking the same thing! XD
WOW, I was thinking and exact same thing and commented above just before I saw your comment.
I was waiting for him to say "Maybe you have a happy little park in your world." Bob Ross is definitely missed! This is a close second. 😢
Generally I wouldn’t put too many two-lane roads that close to each other but I like your logic with road design. The only bad thing about curvy roads is the frequent direction changes will limit building capacity on the road.
Just subbed. Thank you for showing me that you don’t have to have straight line roads everywhere. Time to get creative!!
Clicked on this expecting "Helpful Tips for High Density - Zoning & Planning" not a lets play.

3:22 "Ooh, delicious." His commentary is literally the best. It's humorous but informative. Kept me entertained the whole video.
You mean 30:22
If you have the Move It! mod, you can ALT+click pillars and delete them. Makes building underneath highways etc. so much easier
you are super particular about the measurements of your road. You would hate my city lol xD
this is one of the best Cities skylines channels / guides on youtube. it has it all, good commentary, nice design and traffic management
Great video. The express lane idea has changed my life. thank you, keep it up.
where are the tips? I'm having a hard time discovering a thought process at all. Video title is misleading. the collector road is nice though
Yeah, quite :-/
The complex road designs here are fantastic. Great work
Oh man, great idea having collector lanes. I drive on them all the time, but I never thought to use them in the game.

my office builds wont grow and ive been waiting for about 20 minutes and my speed up is on three
You might need some public transit in the area - I find that always helps me get some stubborn buildings to level up!
thx ill try it
but do you mean buses or taxis or both
oh i think you thought they wont level up but i mean they wont even appear if you still dont understand i mean like when you build a house and its under construction i mean its not under consruction and its not growing-its not building
No I mean that public transit will get you to the highest level of your building's development :)
oh ok thx
Express lane is great until some idiot in a BMW wrecks in it and you are stuck with no escape!

I'm totally red/green colour blind so when you put in the high density residential, it just looks like you're painting nothing.
I only got 13% traffic flow after doing this

Its real.don't do 20x10 units.do 35~50x10unites

Do the bigger houses(the dark green zone) take longer to build?
Edit:talking about that they apear
Merry Christmas @ImperialJedi . May I ask what map you’re using? Thanks!
This guy talks like Mc loving it’s great 👍
Why do you have a feeder road leading to a feeder road
how come you have so many streets options? my city skylines does not gave these tram streets
30 minutes for "tips and tricks"? This video is essentially a let's play.
+ImperialJedi Which map is this as I love it. There must be 4-5 people asking the same question below. BTW, Hello from Hamilton, Ontario.
Without trying to sound stupid( I'm new to this game) but how do you get it so you can see how many metres long your roads are etc.
It's thanks to the Precision Engineering Mod - steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=445589127
Super handy!!
I've also got this list of mods here which is more updated!

I may be dumb, but is it a mod that allows the trams or is it part of the game now, cause I can't see them in my game. If its a mod, which one?
+Matt Brown it's part of the Snowfall DLC :)
The map your using for these vids a default map or a custom map?
+Kpen97 the map is called Blackwoods - I believe it came with either after dark or the snowfall expansion. Not 100% sure though.
Nope, it was one from the starter set. I know because I played a city on it too.
You seem to have a lot of abandoned buildings that need to be destroyed.
How do you get your highways to have such right off/on ramps? Mods?
Whenever I try to make a ramp, it snaps to like a 45 degree angle.
hi, I'm just started playing the game, but I see you having the green arrow sign when you design your road, may I know to do so to adjust the direction of road...thank yoy
hi may i know what is the mod to have the road with tram? i have been looking for it for so long omg
+Rasley Wei it's part of the Snowfall DLC :)
What I hate, is that, right after spending all that time on creating an awesome high density area, you have to do it again......
which map is that?
