Been looking forward to working on this one. I wanted to be a bit more creative than the City Ruins remix and knew I wanted to give this a different vibe. Wasn't expecting to go more electronic with this, it's been really fun to work on as I've not done this sort of thing in a while -- it was good practise. Before I got more serious about writing orchestral music I was really into my electronic stuff so to me this feels like going back to my roots a bit. I isolated the vocals in this track as best as I could without damaging the quality of the vocals too much, everything in this track is made from scratch so it's not a dual mix. In future I'd like to be a bit more creative with the synth stuff I use but for the purpose of this mix it worked out well.
The name of this remix makes me laugh because it's actually something a character says in a game I really loved playing, if anyone can guess what that game is then...we both know that game is awesome and we'll be friends :D

I had some different requests for NieR:Automata, but this is one I've been wanting to do the most since I played the game. I've been wanting to do a combination of orchestral and electronic music for a while now and this has been a good little test run for it. It was fun! Not sure if I'll do more any more remixes any time soon, got work to do and also I'd like to release a smaller original album around next month so expect some new original songs soon (it'll be about 8 tracks but 4 of them will be originals I release last year). And then you guys will get to hear some of what 'The Iron Oath' will sound like which I'm excited to show. Cheers everyone!

It's a shame because these are probably the best remixes we're going to get from Nier Automata for a while, but this is a sick remix (totally unexpected) and it's one of the best songs in the game, so I'm glad.
I can't wait to hear it(The Iron Oath) :D

Silver Moon Same! I wasn't sure about it because I have never ever played a Japanese game before but when I played NieR: Automata... DAMN! Best game of my entire life! I absolutely adore it! It found myself in Japanese culture after that, it forced me to buy more games like NieR (the first one) and Drakengard 3; both on PS3! I came to Norway to get a working PS3 controller just to play those games! It was worth every penny! EVERY SINGLE ONE! Those emotions... Those feeling... That feel of being guilty... The sadness... The happiness... The tears of pain... The tears of joy...
ALL OF THESE FEELINGS ARE PRICELESS! All of these feeling will last me for the entire life and I'm going to bring them down to my grave!
NieR is art that you're happy to discover and sorry to feel.

@@matosz23 Thanks you. By the way I still haven’t finished Drakengard 3 so.... Dunno what’s gonna happen in branch D but as far as I enjoyed the branches from A to C I probably won’t be disappointed.
If you meant the branch A fight with One’s dragon - yes I enjoyed it a lot and the ending was really unexpected. The battle was really epic and just enjoyable... Well it probably wasn’t as much enjoyable for Mikhail...
Anyway I can’t wait till I find some time to work on branch D. I’m seriously afraid of it and that’s what I love.

Pretty much. With Taro's storytelling and Platinum's polish, this game is a Goddamned masterpiece.

They're more positive than most DrakeNieR games, though, in my opinion.
The story is kind of blah, actually. The main character, 2B Or Not 2B, should kind of answer why.

Honestly, having only recently gotten past this bit. I have to say you've really outdone yourself this time. the binaural aspect is such a delight and the progression is really just wow.

Imperious Knight Bardock fucking hell this boss is much deeper then you think, once you get into Route B and I love it.
I still think that this game didn't need a Route B and could have incorporated parts of it into A. Or have you choose A or B at the beginning (making A a little more unique to 2B) and go straight to C. Also some of the shmup sections are a bit long and bland. Apart from that the game is stellar...probably could have had more depth to the combat system and how you fight enemies but it played well throughout.
I don't mind route b personally I really do enjoy playing it from another perspective and I love using 9s hack because they remade the entire sound track in 8bit so I just love every bit of this game.
It was good, I definitely didn't mind playing it but I felt like it was unnecessary to do it again. I would have done it anyway, I just think it should've been an optional thing.

This is absolutely amazing. This is why Alex Roe is one of my all time favorite composers. From his work on Dark Souls to Bloodborne to this. I'm completely dumbfounded by how great it all is. Keep up the stupendous work Alex

I would go out of your way to play this game. it's a fucking incredible and it makes you question the morality of life and all ambitions.

Questioning the morality of life is kinda a theme with Taro's games.

The first Drakengard was centered on Taro coming to the conclusion that, when you think about it, to so openly kill hundreds and consider it an achievement, RPG heroes must be insane/homicidal. The cast of that game is made almost entirely of the scum of humanity, and the world it paints is wretched and full of broken logic.
Not to mention that the idea of the first Nier was Taro deducing from the events of 9/11 that he was wrong, and that you dont have to be insane to be willing to kill...you just have to think you're right. The first Nier centered on you doing things that seemed inherently justified from your perspective, only for holes in this thinking to start appearing the more you and the characters themselves began to question things.

Hey Alex, I doubt you are going to read this but I'm going to try to ask anyway. How do you make your remixes and what programs do you use? I love everything you make.
I use FLStudio and use sample libraries like cinesamples and 8dio. I just use my mouse and punch it all in, was never much of a performer.
Alex Roe Thanks for the answer, guess I'll have to teach myself how to use FL studio.
I would recommend to anyone to try out all the different DAWs (Digital Audio Workstation, it's just what FLStudio and the like are called). Some people just prefer different things. FLStudio just works for me and I like using it. And I'd recommend getting to know as much as you can about different samples, I know I'd like to upgrade/change some of what I use, and some people just prefer certain libraries more than others.
