I made this quilt several years ago and gifted it to my daughter for her wedding. The pattern book is awesome, with clear directions and illustrations. And, yes the quilt is stunning!!!
OMG, the side of the box needs to be a pattern for a bed runner/wall hanging, etc. While you were talking, I kept envisioning my Tula fabric on the side of the box! When most people get out 'winter' quilts after Christmas, I get out my rebel Nebula to brighten the dark days. ❤
I just finished the original version of this quilt using plain Kona fabrics as suggested in the pattern. I love it, but I wish I would've seen this new version beforehand. The fabrics are gorgeous and add so much depth and more interest. I may have to make it again with these stunning fabrics!
I'm surprised at how different the quilts are between the Kona and the Stonehenge versions. They're quite different and it will probably be worth it to make both versions. I love them both!
Love the king size addition!! I'm currently making the gravity quilt using kona solids but only have the queen size. How can I get the instructions to make it larger? Do I have to buy another book?
Good question! We've been considering different options for how to make the king size directions available. Currently, these directions will only be available in the book that is exclusive to the Northcott kit. If we made a PDF version of the king size directions available in our PDF shop, is that something that you would be willing to buy?
@@jaybirdquiltsI was wondering the same thing. I have owned the Gravity quilt pattern for years but gave up trying to source the fabrics but bought this kit to make it now. I would be willing to buy a PDF copy of the king size expansion option. My bed is king size and so is my Nebula so I’d like it to match and to be able to swap them out. 😊
I do not recommend starching as there may not be enough fabric. The kit is for queen size and can be made king size with the addition of a few more yards of background fabrics.
Can't wait to get my box! This is gorgeous.
It's so nice!

I purchased this pattern a few years ago and can't way to start.
Julie, if we have the original Gravity Quilt book, do we need to purchase the new one, if so, where can we purchase it? Thanks
You can join us for the sew along with the original Gravity book. No need to purchase another one!
Can the fabric be starched and is there enough fabric in the kit to do either the queen or king?
I do not recommend starching as there may not be enough fabric. The kit is for queen size and can be made king size with the addition of a few more yards of background fabrics.
Will we be able to flip it so the lighter backgrounds are on the outside? Just curious..
You could, but you'll need additional fabric as there is not enough of all of them to do a switch like that without additional fabric.
