Had one just like except it was fuel injection. Damn that car brings back memories. Same color, everything. Those were the days and I was very lucky to have had this car when I was 17 years old.
Congratulations on the purchase. With the time and care you take in restorations, this is a treasure trove of information, as well as an awesome car! Thanks for sharing.
Peter That's Brilliant... Buying this 63' Split-Window to use as a "Reference" for future Restorations/Builds, etc.👍Myself, I would have eventually "Clued-In" that it could be used for that!
I believe that's the same Mr. Snow who had a 22K mile triple black 1970 Buick GS Stage 1 automatic that sold for around $90K at Mecum back in 2018 or so. Apparently, survivor cars gravitate towards him. Sharp find!!
Keeping 40 year old tires to keep it all original is great but tires usually become dangerous after 7 years so driving that beauty with unsafe tires is a potentially dangerous game!!
A piece of history as a survivor for sure. But drive car cross country on 40 year old tires------are you crazy? You can kiss survivor goodbye if anyone tried that stunt. Either park it as is or put a set of modern durable radials on the car!
Sadly from 2030 on all the combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in EU :-( In Germany the Green party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing petrol stations to only one state owned peoples gas station per city or county. :-(

No, don’t. But, enjoy that car and as you said use it as a template of how the ‘63 Vettes were made. Great find and buy.
