    In this video, I show you the Delonghi Dinamica Plus - so far the best superautomatic coffee and espresso machine that I have used. With this machine, you can grind fine enough, and dose high enough, to get what I would classify as an actual espresso. It is quite impressive. On top of that, the milk frothing texture, true to Delonghi's form, is quite awesome, and delivers a super creamy, sweet texture for milk based drinks. I go through some of my favorite coffee drinks, then show the user interface, and in the second part of the video, I show some popular milk drinks. And yes, to answer the question, this does make hot frothed milk on its own. It can even make a carafe of coffee! Finally, it includes user profiles and drink customization, to round out a sweet machine. Oh yeah, it also includes stainless steel burrs, and can be dialed in quite fine - finer than other superautomatics I've used.

      Hi Tom,
      I'm at the verge of getting this model due to your experience and review, thanks for that. It seems that the 380.95 has replaced this model. The max pressure went down to 15 bars from 19. Would this make a difference. Also do you have any 'inside info' due to your experience in the coffee-world on if the espresso is as good on this model?

      @@heroprodygee The machine looks the same to me. Delonghi just uses a bunch of descriptors for the same model, but sometimes with different colors/trims. They should perform just the same. And neither produces coffee at 15 or 19 bar. That's just confusing. Cheers!

    Definitely a consideration for my wife. Both her and my in-laws, who spend a lot of time with us, love to drink coffee but hate to make it. My wife won't touch the espresso machine either. As of now she uses the nespresso machine and nano foamer but doesn't like it as much since I got an espresso machine. So, something that could get her 90% of the way there but be her go to when I am not home or busy would be great. While I have considered something like the Impress touch, I think that is more work than she wants and not enough manual control for me, lol. Besides, I already have my "toys". Flair, picopresso, bambino plus etc.
    Thank you for always considering everybody and not just making reviews on one type of machine! It is super helpful.

    Great review, thanks a lot, it encouraged me to order the Delonghi Dinamica Plus.
    If it was just for me I would have gone with a sage oracle touch, but my wife wanted full automatic.
    I’m a bit annoyed though, as I wanted the profiles with the app to set the different drinks we like, & from my research I thought the plus meant it could connect to the app. I was wrong and the one I ordered doesn’t have Bluetooth or Wi-Fi so I can’t set up different users and I didn’t realise until I’d set it up and had made a load of coffees.
    Never mind, the coffees seem nice and it foams oat milk ok.

    I bought this device as new in August 2020. Whit in 6 months, the milk frothing did not work properly anymore so I had to send it in for repair, 3 times before it was repaired properly. Since then it broke down approximately every 6 months. I try to do the repairs myself because it would cost me a lot to have someone to repair it for me. I’ve had a water leak repair, an electro valve repair, a blockage of the milling device due to foreign material in the coffee beans
    and at this moment I have again a problem with the milk frothing. I ordered a new the frothing nozzle and I am going to try to install it myself. Really not satisfied with this DeLonghi Dinamica Plus ECAM 370.95T. Luckily there are some repair videos on RUclips to help to repair it myself.

    Bought one, I have developed taste for Nordic style roasted single origin coffees because of a coffee shop near by, beans are dense, low-medium roast so harder to extract. Surprisingly this machine have me a great espresso after tweaking a a bit, increased coffee amount, lowered grind size, increased temperature, it is almost the same taste I get in the coffee shop. I was using an eletta cappuccino top before this, but grinder was not doing well after 5 years, and I never did receive flavorful coffee with the same beans. Dinamica is good.

I also tuned my old Magnifica S to make it grind finer, and tried different doses using pre-ground option. But it still a bit weak and watery. Seems like their machines are using very similar parts inside, like brewing chamber, same pump, similar (if not the same) grinder. So what exactly making this machine better in coffee making?.. Well, you can manually do an Americano, by doing an espresso or doppio first, then moving your cup over for hot water. But I'd probably opt for the Caffe Crema, myself. Cheers!

    • @TomsCoffeeCorner
      @TomsCoffeeCorner  6 месяцев назад +2

      This machine comes closer than any other SA that I have tried to making an actual espresso. It grinds so fine you can choke it (i did it several times), and with the "Doppio" it'll make 14-15 gram pucks. The result with fresh beans is actually a nice espresso. But of course you are limited in temperature, you cannot do any puck prep, and I feel like the machine might struggle over time to bring the pressure needed. With that being said, I still feel the BTI is better of course, but this is by a wide margin the best I've tried that makes drinks with a press of a button.

    Thanks Tom for the review. Just got that machine for x-mas as a replacement for a 13 year-old Magnifica 3300. Quite an upgrade indeed. Just a question though. It seems that the newer machines waste a lot of fresh water in the drip tray "while" making the coffee. And I'm not talking about the rinsing. I'm very careful on always putting something under the nozzle. But there is a lot of water accumulating and according to the website, it's "normal". Would you (or anyone reading this) know why it's wasting so much water?

    • @TomsCoffeeCorner
      @TomsCoffeeCorner  6 месяцев назад

      It might be over pressured water, getting diverted into the tray. I haven't really noticed myself, but I haven't been monitoring it. Cheers!

      Hi there! Well, it's really user dependent. I like to use the hottest setting, and set the 'Aroma' to 5 beans, and limit the water, to get a nice concentrated drink.
      My favorites:
      Doppio+: 5 bean aroma, hot temp, stop at 40ml
      Cappuccino Mix: 5 bean aroma, hot temp, 30 seconds milk froth
      Caffe Crema: 5 bean aroma, hot temp, 150ml water

    Hi Tom, LOVE your channel, very interesting, and honest.
    We are looking for a new machine right now - mainly drinking cappuccino/latte, espresso - we have a little issue. We think this machine looks amazing (for this pricerange - tbh it seems like the only really nice machine in this price range. BUT, we also like the Gaggia Brera - which is not making the drinks automatic, but with the steamer, it seems like its possible to get a similar foam, and a (maybe) better espresso shot? I know its maybe hard to compare them. But what is your opinion? :-) Is the Brera making a similar espresso/cappuccino ?

    Great reviews, love your channel. In Canada, the Dinamica Plus is double the price of the Magnifica EVO. I've tried the EVO and I am really impressed with the shot, much better than the Philips 5400. I think the EVO has all the drink selections I need, but do you think the Dinamica Plus is worth the upgrade and additional cost?

    • @TomsCoffeeCorner
      @TomsCoffeeCorner  6 месяцев назад +1

      The biggest advantage in my opinion of the Dinamica over the Magnifica are the larger pucks. But yes, the Magnifica Evo is already much better than the Philips, imho. So, if you're satisfied with the Evo, stick with it. For me, the Dinamica would be worth the upcharge, but it's also not much of a price gap between the two in the EU.

    • @CechMtl-gm9yq
      @CechMtl-gm9yq 6 месяцев назад

      @TomsCoffeeCorner I think the puck size should be the same considering the brew unit in the machines are identical. If you are comparing the dopio option in the Dinamica, then that can be achieved by pressing the 2x button before the espresso on the EVO. I've just tried it and it seems to pull an 80ml shot. Actually, it was overextracted as it came out very slow due to the fresh lighter roast beans I had in the machine. Something the Philips was never capable of doing.

However, in your video the first couple of milk drinks you made, you adjusted cup or frother at machine, which for me defeats appeal of using app from away from machine. Delonghi gave us a brand new Dinamica to replace a failed refurbished Magnifica. The Magnifica failed in 2 months, and the Dinamica failed after approximately 2.5 years. Normally it would have had a three year warranty, but since it was a warranty replacement Delonghi determined it only had a 6 month warranty which likely leaves us paying out of pocket for a new transmission. We impeccably maintained both machines. The original Starbucks Magnifica we had was comparatively bulletproof! The newer machines build quality is very poor (both the Magnifica and Dinamica). We have multiple friends who’ve had similar reliability problems. For now, we’re using our daughter’s Nespresso Vertuo which is great except pods are ridiculously expensive, and the reliable old grinder and French press! Good luck with any newer Super Automatic!

    Great review! I'm not much of a "coffee snob" (sorry for using that term, but hopefully you know what I mean), but I do enjoy a nice cup of coffee... I've been using a Keurig for 10 years, and a Tassimo before that (I liked that MUCH better than the Keurig), but admittedly, those don't make good coffee. Now that I'm permanently working from home, I really need something better than the brown water the Keurig gives me. This sounds like it's exactly what I want... And, the thought of being able to make my own flat whites, is a big selling point for me. I got hooked on flat whites, on some business trips to Australia (that was the first time I'd ever heard of then). I also like the idea of buying whole beans and having freshly ground coffee every morning.

      I am using delonghi superautomatics since 2009, cleaning never been an issue, they are really accessible unlike say, Juras. They are quite user serviceable, you can pop open and remove brewing unit and clean it. Descaling depends on your water, I am using filtered water and almost and neglected descaling a year, and my coffee was still hot and nothing came out when I finally descaled.

      By an issue, I mean a messy chore that takes too long for my tastes, and when I descale I flush a lot to feel confident that there is no descaling chemical contamination left in the machine. Hi there! No plan at this point to do the KitchenAids...to empty the hopper, you'd have to vacuum or scoop the beans out of this one. Rivelia has interchangeable hoppers.

      Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately DeLonghi has no information on when they may release the Rivelia in the US sadly, but I appreciate it

    I just got this machine. Any suggestions on how to make the best regular cup of coffee with it? Thanks.

      Freshly roasted beans, soft water, and hot temperature in the settings. Cheers!

    Hey bro, just received the machine today and I was looking for the, "Coffee Crema" that you mentioned in the video. After watching your video again to try to find where you found the drink I noticed that it's just a simple coffee. Did you tweak it in order to make it a "coffee crema" or something?

      The semantics are a force of habit. It's called a 'Coffee Crema' in Germany, but on this machine it's simply labelled a coffee. Cheers!

    Just bought the machine and it’s still not as hot as I would like..where is that setting to make it extra hot that you mentioned in the video? I run a rinse cycle warm my cup and have the temp in the settings to high as well..I’m in Canada so we have the US model here. Thanks very much for a great video!

      Hi there! I just tried mine again on a Coffee (coffee crema), and it's very hot for me on the 'hot' setting. Nearly too hot to drink at first. That being said, make sure to warm your cups first, as this is important with any machine. Anyway, which drink on the machine isn't hot enough for you? Cheers!

      Thanks so much. The warming of the cup with the hot water is key along with a machine rinse prior to brewing does the trick for my coffee setting! Even the espresso is hotter but not to the point where you can’t just do a quick shot and go. Great channel and your videos are awesome. I’ve learned so much watching 😊

      It can add another shot, if that's what you mean.

    Any downsides to using this in an office setting with the interface? Can less savvy people still easily come and hit a couple buttons and get the coffee they want without too much thinking?

      Yes, I'd say that's the ideal setting. We've been using Delonghi superautomatics at work for years. Cheers!

    I have a similar machine but when i select flat white it begin by the milk than the espresso, so it tastes and looks like a latte machiato, does anyone know what goes wrong with it and how to fix it? Thank you Tom

      Just choose the 'cappuccino mix'. That's the only one that does the espresso first. I am not sure why they programmed the milk drinks that way. Cheers!
