i own a 3060 Omen 17 6gb . It still handles everything well. i can play Hogwarts on Ultra without RT on. I will upgrade next year , I have a feeling these laptops are getting a refresh.
I just saw something in the news the other day or rumor mill that the RTX 5000 series might get a bump up and be coming sooner than expected and that the RTX 4000 Super or refresh might be cancelled. But take the rumor mill with a huge grain of salt. Until things are announced and on actual store shelves to be purchased, I don't put too much faith in these things. I'm assuming that you're playing mainly at 1080p on the 3060 right? If you don't mind using DLSS, it can deliver some pretty good results or even tweaking the settings a bit. I still don't find ray tracing to give some transformative experience in any game really.
Great video and Very informative…a big thank you …saw this when i was planning to buy one with i9 13900 hx 32 gb 5600 mhz 4090 gpu and 2 tb ssd configuration. Do you have any idea about upgrading ram to 64 ..is it expandable? I noticed it’s been 7 months you posted this video , what is your current opinion. Mainly planning to buy it for editing…if you have any experience in editing using this laptop share that also
@jog_mat I don't know about 64GB RAM. It seems most are topping out at 32GB. Please consult the official specs for your exact model SKU. As for editing, I did some video editing on it using Davinci Resolve. Churns through 4K footage without issue. If you set the Render or Timeline Resolution to Half (1080p) or alternatively use proxy clips editing is a breeze with this machine!
HI from France (excuse my bad english) I just ordered the same omen. do you have any tips for first use? (configurations, software, hardware, settings...) to optimize . THANK YOU and congratulations for your work and your objectivity
So glad you found the video useful. For first tips, I would say look up Windows 11 debloat tool, run it to remove all the MS app store garbage. Also run ShutUp10 to remove all the unnecessary telemetry and tracking. Also use Chris Titus' Windows Tool to quickly install all the apps and launchers that you'll need for gaming as well as daily use. Be sure to read a little bit about all these options or watch a few videos so you don't get stuck having to re-install Windows. Good luck and enjoy!
Its noisy but not extraordinaly loud. The 17" provides extra breathing room vs 16" or 15". The Acer are louder due to highe speed fans by design as well as the Razer laptops.
Nice videos on this thing, got one of these things to replace an aging desktop. crazy that laptops have reached a place that you can be somewhat within striking distance of desktop value in terms of performance.
I agree 100%. I would not have dreamed of doing some of the stuff that you can do now with a laptop. I've been using laptops for 20 years and this is the most exciting time ever to be a laptop buyer/user/owner.
@@techknowlux Leaps in storage alone are especially ridiculous, SSD's were clearly going to kill HDD's for consumers but nvme rendered 2.5" redundant. Just ridiculous price to storage ratio nowadays. Shouldn't be the case. Try adjusting the mic volume and see if it helps. Also make sure no other apps are running and see if you have the same issues. Update all the drivers and try again. If it's still an issue, you could have a faulty mic setup. Rare but could happen.

It's pretty annoying as on website it says that it should work on a 100W adapter.. I tried contacting HP but I have not yet received a reply, in case my laptop is defective or not
@MattGadi That is very odd. Did you try looking in the BIOS to see if there is some charge setting that might affect this? And have you tried a different adapter? Perhaps try 100W. HP has a feature called Sleep and Charge. Might want to look into the settings around this. Also from the specs since there's no mention of 130 or 140W.
