Dear RUclips friends: I don’t think Dr. Rubin monitors the comments here and even if she looks at them I highly doubt she will answer the questions here. I’m trying to get her back on the show so if you have a question the best way to get thrm answered is to submit them to help@chefaj.com. Remember, she also said she does virtual appointments. Thanks for watching!

Chicken was a problem with me. I only realised the link between me eating chicken & getting UTIs when I went vegan 10 years ago. After about a year on a vegan, mostly whole plant food diet, I realised that I hadn’t had a UTI for the whole year. I was used to getting one at least every 6-8 weeks. Never had a UTI since.

Chef AJ - THANK YOU SO MUCH!! for expanding your interviewing gifts to physicians like Dr. Rubin who aren't entirely focused on nutrition. Although I will never tire of your nutrition based video and cookbooks, we are total bodies with other issues. I hope you will continue to expand your reach. Please consider letting your fans know how we can help you diversify, perhaps via referrals to physicians we know and value.

Thank you AJ! I have this disease and have been waiting a long time for someone to put this topic on a platform. After having a hysterectomy is when this disease came about. They had diagnosed me with polyps in my bladder. My question would be after having a hysterectomy what other health problems can occur? Eating a plant base diet help me especially the greens, but sometimes stress, certain exercise, acidic foods can inflame my bladder! Thank you again for bringing this topic forward.

Wow!! Dr Rubin is amazing!! I’m so glad she touched on the topic of stress and how it could affect our pelvic health, that is something that is so often overlooked and once we have a sensation or symptom we jump the gun and think it’s something very bad, when calming the nervous system goes such a long way.. this is great information about estradiol vaginally and how menopause really affects our entire genitourinary system..🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼thank you ChefAJ for having these amazing guests!!!

So I have something to add to this discussion. Twenty years ago I had a bad case of IC. I finally realized that it was gluten causing it. Every time eliminated gluten my symptoms would start to lessen within a few days. Two other things that really aggravated symptoms were carbonated beverages and vinegar. Recently I have come across Medical Medium and my problem with these food items has been validated in that he said they are some of the worst things you can put in your body as they feed viruses. Through his books I have come to believe that I have certain viruses in my body that, as they reproduce, irritate the lining of my bladder as well as my urethra. I hope the rest of you can find some relief as I have. It’s a miserable condition.

I have been diagnosed with both interstitial cystitis and rheumatoid arthritis and have been eating WFPB for the past 6 months plus avoiding known bladder triggers but night time frequency is debilitating! I’m exhausted all the time.
I hate that both of the chronic illnesses I suffer from have a problem where everyone only hears the second words of the diagnoses: “cystitis” and “arthritis” and I have to have to put up with everyone saying “Oh I get a bit of that too” like it’s just a minor inconvenience 🤦‍♀️

Stopped eating gluten and all my issues either completely disappeared (like IBS) or greatly improved. Also had an OB/Gyn tell me that my lack of libido during peri menopause it was just the way it is and offered 0 solutions. It’s great when you can be seen and heard - and believed!

Hi Sally. I have IBS-C. It has gotten worse over the years, and the past 4 days have been a nightmare. I don't go out anymore. Several years ago,my gyn said it was a GI issue - and - my GI told me it was a gyn issue. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

@@tinamerlot4403 that sounds so frustrating to be passed back and forth like that with no relief. I’m sorry you’re going through that. I had IBS-D and developed microscopic colitis so I totally get the “can’t leave the house” part - it’s no way to live. I would say if you can find a lifestyle medicine doctor, try a consult. They may have ideas that a typical doctor wouldn’t think of. My philosophy has always been if I don’t get results (or don’t click) with a physician, I fire them and find a new one. Sometimes we forget that they actually work for us, not the other way around. If you hired a plumber who told you your backed up drains were all in your head or that it’s actually a carpenter you needed, you’d find a new plumber. This is no different but we seem to feel they’re god-like and shouldn’t be questioned - and that attitude is on both sides of the fence. Again, if a doctor’s feathers get ruffled because I’m asking for clarification, evidence or reassurance, that’s not the practitioner for me. It says nothing about their skills but everything about the interaction. I wish you hope and healing!

@@sallystewart7853 Thank you for replying. Truth be told, I always had the best (read "expensive") health insurance coverage. there was never an issue with what specialist I saw; what tests were ordered; 2nd and 3rd opinions. If I did not like a doctor, I would get another. Years ago, they intimidated me, and, it didn't help that I have trouble speaking up for myself. Similarly, this is the reason I am in this situation. I left a good job to work WITH my ex shortly after getting married. He and I were the only workers. After many years, he had no assets. I have to share -- although he got arrested, and the court put 2 Orders of Protection on him --- I wound up without a job for the first time in my life. Although the divorce was a no brainer - I wasted half of my savings on 2 separate lawyers - Female - who didn't do their job. Besides, no job, as part owner - I did not get my share of the biz; had to pay half of the forensic accountant fees -- the ex had no assets - as a licensed financial planner and biz owner. I had to give him half of my assets.

@Chef AJ.. If you have an opportunity to have this amazing physician back, here's a question to add to the apparently growing list below haha...
What does the Dr suggest for someone who has amenorrhea due to extreme low weight for a period of time and it never came back? It may be too late (over ten years) as an early menopause thing.. But is there a way to test? Or something to try? Not even sure where to start

A huge aspect of sexual health that she didn’t mention is the emotional connection. Trauma. Blockages within yourself and between you and your partner. It’s not all science that requires medication. Highly recommend the work of Kim Anami, Yoni Empire, & Onna Lifestyle. I was a little disappointed that this doctor, albeit eloquently knowledgeable about what she was talking about, didn’t have much of a functional, lifestyle medicine approach, especially around plant based diets, which is why I come to Chef AJ’s channel. I do appreciate her being a woman and advocating for womens health.
