My brother does knit as well.He is in the military and my late mom taught him so he had something to do while waiting in airports. He still does in retirement and donates to homeless shelters and hospitals.
Mikey, I love using my TV time with crochet. I make afghans and force (lol) them on family and friends. Thanks for ALL your creative ideas that I also use.
I LOVE your sweater Mikey!!! Great video, and you sound like you're in such a better place than a few days ago. I love the video you made about where you live. It's beautiful.
Gorgeous sweater, Mikey. What yarn is it? You did a great job. You'd never know it was your first garment if you hadn't said so. I know how proud I was with my first sweater. Thanks for another encouraging video.
Color choice for the sweater.....delightful! It looks really great on you. Just finished my first stuffed bunny (white/pink/lime green)! And you are so right.....nothing is better than finishing a new project and thinking: (I did that? I really did that!) Smiles and hugs. Have a great day!
So glad to see you again on you tube with a new video. Can't wait to see a new blanket/afghan design from you. I absolutely love making your Mandala blankets. hope you are doing well. Take care and keep the lights on. 😄
I had a Great Uncle who crocheted. My Mom told me about him. She said that he made a beautiful bedspread out of cotton thread (this was around the late 1930s early 1940s). I wish I had been able to see it. Mom said it was beautiful.
I love the yarn that you used in your sweater, plus the sweater looks really nice, warm and very comfortable. In the garment sewing world that sleeve is called “raglan”.
I am an Aussie and didn’t know we had a guild!!! 😂. I love watching your videos and my grandfather was left handed like me and taught me how to crochet 🧶. You inspire me to keep creating.
Wow you did a great job on that sweater! I've been crocheting for fifty years and I've never made anything for myself beyond a scarf. Recently I saw a pattern for a cardigan I might make for myself. Your sweater turned out great you give me a little inspiration to maybe try something for myself. Thank you and see you later
What a gorgeous sweater Mikey! I absolutely love the colors and it is very flattering on you. I don’t have the confidence to attempt a sweater yet, but I’m happy making my blankets, scarves and coasters for now!! Love you!♥️❤️♥️
😂😂😂 My granddaughter asked for a Wednesday Adam’s vest and I had to go through 3 different sizes versions to be able to get the right “blanket size” that fit her. My first wearable crochet ever and I thought that girls was growing bigger by the hour!!! Thanks for this video, now I won’t freak out before finishing my next garment project. ❤
My Dad was a surgeon & when he retired i decided he needed to learn cross stitch since his adult life was all about that suture/floss. LOL I created a monster!! He was always tenacious & it always made me cringe when he first started out & picked out HUGE projects! Gorgeous work though! I didn’t know how to crochet or knit at that point. I’m sure he got teased about cross stitching all winter. Summer was for his humongous garden.
Yay I’m an Aussie and it’s so awesome to see the crochet guild Aus on the spotlight and I’d love to know where the split happened when’re us and uk crochet terms and how us makes more sense than uk
I love the yarn choice. I think it was Showtime, the same as the hat we made last year and you're actually wearing during assembly. So many wonderful statements... Challenge yourself, body image, inclusiveness, global community. Love it all!
I love your sweater you made! Gorgeous colors in the yarn. I agree that it’s hard to make that first wearable for yourself. I’ve struggled to find patterns that I feel confident enough to customize to my size. I’ve found that sizes are all over the board. It’s difficult to say I’m such and such size and have anything fit properly. I do swatches and still it comes out with way different measurements than it should have. I’m still searching for patterns that are easy to make wearables that are easy to customize.
Mikey, I know I said this before but thank you for doing left-handed tutorials. I watch the right-handed tutorials but it is so nice to see it from my prospective. Do you really have snow out your home now? I live in Florida and we are having heat advisories!!! I wish I lived by you! Have a great day!
Hi Mikey, Just loved this presentation. You helped explain why I have had a hard time making wearables. I just finished a simple sweater pattern and now I see where I could have improved on it. Do I want to try it again? Only time will tell. Like you I prefer smaller projects which give me a sense of accomplishment. Love your channel and your beautiful creations. Thank you!
I already had this pattern but noticed that the date is now Feb 2023. Does that mean that your amendments have been incorporated into the pattern or is that just to reflect the addition of the sleeve diagram?
Teaching a male friend to crochet right now but he is struggling with every aspect of it from holding the yarn, the hook, the evolving project and the tension! He is all thumbs . I’ve now given him a bulky weight #6 weight yarn and went from a 5 mm hook to a 10 mm hook which he is finding more comfortable to hold. He spent a week just practicing doing chains. He is sooo tense , stressed and uptight about the whole process but geez he’s determined! Was wondering it one of those crocheted tension rings might help so he doesn’t have to worry about how he’s holding the yarn? What do ya think? Wish me luck.
I've been holding off crocheting a pair of shorts thats really more like a skirt because of lack of confidence. And yarn. Still not sure what kind to get. Advice would be great! And waist band advice. Im losing wieght right now so thats another reason. Edit to add: i got belly flap. 🤯 and its not enjoyable. Half the time my protocol is gassy as unowhat! 😆 some wasted trips to the pottyroom, 🙄🤪
So nice to see you smile, you were born to do this, big hugs from Australia 🫂💜🫂
Great job Mikey
Thank you

Creating is sacred.
It’s a really nice sweater and looks great on you!
Hi Mikey! I know this is prerecorded, but it's so nice to see "the lights on" in the yarn room. Great video 🙂
What a gorgeous sweater Mikey! I absolutely love the colors and it is very flattering on you. I don’t have the confidence to attempt a sweater yet, but I’m happy making my blankets, scarves and coasters for now!! Love you!♥️❤️♥️
Hi Mikey Love your sweater!!!
Yes, we still have snow as well. I just made him a sweater on my addi machine. But I'd much rather make a crochet one!
Beautiful sweater 🧶👍

I love that sweater!
Beautiful jumper 👌
Thanks!
I love that! My friend wants a pull over sweater.
So good!! 😊
I love doing blankets too. I started crocheting in 1972. Making clothes is about the same as using a sewing pattern. As your guide.
My Dad was a surgeon & when he retired i decided he needed to learn cross stitch since his adult life was all about that suture/floss. LOL I created a monster!! Yes..who cares male or female. Its all about enjoyment and you do great!!😅

That sweater is wonderful, need to make this for the hubs😂❤
I really like the way the Red Heart melange yarns combined for the coloring. Great work!!
Aloha from Hawaii!! You sure do have allot of snow up there in Canada!!! 😀😀‼️❄️❄️‼️
I love your Jersey. Colours are gorgeous. I'll try to find your tutorial thank you

The sweater is lovely. I want to make a man’s sweater as well as a child’s.

Thank you Mickey. I just downloaded the pattern. Its going to be a while before I can make it, but it is on my to do list.
I would like for you to talk about is your crochet book library.
I already had this pattern but noticed that the date is now Feb 2023. Does that mean that your amendments have been incorporated into the pattern or is that just to reflect the addition of the sleeve diagram?
Those colors are amazing!!! How did you do it? What yarn??

Just let him keep practicing. He will find his natural tension.

Is this yarn for sweater red heart?
Lots of men crochet. They are all over TikTok
Your sweater is wonderful!
