- In my last video, I was complaining that GoPro has not included different aspect ratios within reelsteady. Especially with the release of the new GoPro Hero 11 which has an 8:7 Sensor that is perfect for reframing content in a vertical format like 9:16! Now GoPro was ahead of this and gave us what we want! Let´s check out how this new feature performs.

Hello mate
Yes it really makes a lot of sense! If you shoot on the sensors native aspect ratio, you will have a video file that uses the entire surface of the sensor. That means, you get the highest amount of data possible to work with!
no matter what video I put in it says not supported
Where is the sync points ?
cool videos man, following from France
Merci 🙏🏼:) glad you like the video! Greetings from your German neighbour ✌🏼
Wow 21:9 would be great on my ultra wide monitor
Hell yeah:) probably an amazing field of view
thanks, because before that update I was having a really hard time finding a reason to upgrade to the GP11 for FPV pilots.
Glad to give you value with this Video
Still don't see the update. I'm on a PC in the US. Have you tried with gopro 10? Can you get a wider field of view for vertical videos?
Yeah maybe PC is delayed… it’s working on all GoPros supporting Reelsteady! The FOV is the maximum you can possibly get. I also tried out Gyroflow and it cropped in a bit more. Let’s see if Gyroflow will also implement different Aspect Ratios.
Can you just maintain the original aspect ratio so you can crop in resolve in post? Instead of exporting wide screen and vertical versions? Like a gyro cropped 8:9 or for older gopros a gyro cropped 4:3. I suppose wide screen wise you lose super view then, but then again when i'm really up close to drift cars the super view distortion is not always nice, tho it can be a good effect.
Ohh, you'd just export 1:1 ?
You can use following aspect ratios: 21:9 / 16:9 / 4:3 / 1:1 / 4:5 / 3:4 / 9:16
You can also put lens correction all the way to 0 and get rid of distortion
Hey man, i still do not have that option in europe.. didnt get an update notification.. is it just for some countries now?
Hey buddy, I’m from Germany! Try updating it in the Mac AppStore or on windows by downloading the latest version. Maybe this update is now only available on Mac OS and the windows one is still to be released
@@jonesaway thank you buddy, i will try it on mac! Its true that i tried it only on windows
@@itsjustzet Alright:) lmk how it works for you
@@jonesaway for sure, by the way i wrote you on instagram, we can connect there 🤘
@@jonesaway Windows will be out soon.
Have you put 8:7 video as a source?
Hey how exactly do you mean that?
@@jonesaway you shooted these files as 8:7 aspect ratio natively?
Yes exactly:)
@@jonesaway the original file had any of the gopro stabilization turned on in the camera settings? ir was it completely turned off?
@@digitalmilo entirely turned off
"almost rectangular"? I guess you meant almost square... because the sensor for sure is rectangular :D
Yo you got me hahahaha
Ok that's a huge thing m8, i go buy a GP11 rn 🙃
Mine will never cimplete rendering... any pointers?! Thanks!
What happened? Maybe graphic cards driver ? Lmk
