Utility Poles are 3’ off the Road and NO shoulders. Chester, IL, is getting a New Bridge to Perryville, MO, thanks to MODOT Paying for it. Completion Date 12/2026.
It's a good video and I sure hope you can keep up being a trucker. Especially with all the expenses you all have to deal with. My son had to quit due to sudden and serious illness. He sure hated to give it up but sometimes things happen we have control on. Stay safe OT ROOKIE. 🙏💙
Being a owner operator just isn’t worth it anymore. I sold my truck and trailer two years ago made a nice profit went back to being a mechanic being an owner operator is high risk so you should get high reward or it’s not worth it. You get into one little fender bender, and the insurance goes crazy and then out of business. It just doesn’t make sense anymore
Hunt's Point what a terrible place to get to.... I hauled cabbage and potatoes there... I used to come in early morning like 5 am... and hoped to get out by lunchtime. Lots of lizards there... but once inside the gate it was quiet.
I Absolutely agree. I made more money as an owner operator but I had more expenses. It was a great experience but it didn't make sense to me once I had my daughter I'm with a union trucking company now with full benefits and pension holiday pay sick pay and vacation pay when you add in the value of the benefits it is a solid gig. Plus I get to drive a brand new truck everyday. Can't beat it unless you're one of those really well connected owner operators with direct contracts like the cattle haulers they hand over the paperwork and they get a check right then and there.
I do not know how long you’ve been trucking or have your authority but first mistake is progressive they be taxing. I went with them my first year you might say $3000 a month 2nd year with somebody else I’m down about $1200 a month but I do live in Delaware
