The Samsung Galaxy Tab is a great tool for digital planning and digital note-taking. Handwriting notes that are electronically stored and synced across devices help improve efficiency and facilitate collaboration. For those in a sales and marketing role, digital note-taking is especially valuable.
In this video, learn how to use the Samsung Tab for digital note taking and daily planning. We showcase the tools in OneNote, like Pen, Type, Lasso, Spilt Screen, Easer, Copy/Paste, Search, Highlight.
Handwriting notes has other benefits. When you write something, you are more likely to remember it. When using a tablet versus a laptop to take notes during a meeting, the customer also has a more engaging experience.
The structure of OneNote is different in the Samsung Tab, but the features are the same. Learn how to:
See recent pages that you’ve used
Transfer (copy/paste) notes from one page to another
Change your pen color and thickness
Type
Erase text and erase highlights
Set up new pages
Search for your handwritten notes
Add a photo, link, audio clip, or attachment
Side by side note-taking
Digital planning and note-taking also provides a platform to use a daily digital planner. Our Key2Success Planning System helps organize your digital notes and digital planning.

I'm Glad they fixed the one note app, I bought the tab s7 2 months after the release and the one not app was not working properly, it was like taking notes on notepad and I decidedto return it. But after seeing this I think I will buy it again because I really loved the tablet, but it didn't sit right with me because I bought it for school.
Not sure if you saw, but we have an academic planner too.
I love my Tab s7+ it helps me with my business everyday. I love my Note20 plus device. Adding the calendar just helps me move faster.
Branden, have you found a function within onenote to convert the handwritten text to type text, ocr
In windows i have used this function, but it would be good to be alle to do it on the galaxy tab
How to insert pictures in tablet samsung s7 plus and pdf files right away and not as some" file floating in the background"...?
Same question

Enjoy your videos Branden, I couldn't agree more, something about note taking with a physical pen, in the hand - the presence, vs for me a disconnect typing or mousing to a monitor 30cm+ away - the pen, seems to flow for me, I type very fast, yet slowing down, writing, editing (like a whiteboard) my notes in S8 tab, is a pleasure. A part of me fought against 'productivity' in the speed of writing vs typing, yet my accuracy is so far above via a pen, my notes are polished over time and not need to be recreated, and it's just a pleasure, calms

thank you
Pretty amazing video of how to use this tablet in a efficient way, thanks!
Glad you think so!
How do you make the template? is it from imported PDF or Image? and you are writing (annotating) over it, is this what is happening essentially?
The template is a notebook in Onenote that we have designed and have created. You import the planner as its own notebook. Then you can go to work.
How do you get these templates? Are 5hey for sale in Google or Galaxy store?
Hi! This video was very helpful. I’ve been playing around with using OneNote on my boox e ink device and it pretty much performs the same way as you have explained in this video of course in black and white. I have a few questions :
1. Are there any shortcuts to access the eraser and lasso tool? Like holding down 2 fingers in the screen and selecting? Or is there an ability to create shortcuts for this tools without having to click on the tool itself? In interest of speeding up note taking.
2. When I tried the search feature as you showed in this video, it did not and could not search through my hand written notes. It kept showing zero results. Any idea why it would not work, and what I could do to make it work?
3. Does this app on the device shown in video support the sticky note feature? If yes; how is that accessed?
Thanks so much !!
They really have to update their drawing tools tab to include things like ink to shapes and shapes selection pallet. This is still the same selection that they had on the Tab S3. Apple users have those features & thrive. Android tablet users have really gotten left behind.
I need the convert options because I draw the teacher's structural analysis examples in class but they don't convert automatically like those of the notebook user or an ipad user. Seem unfair.
My Samsung tablet doesn't have the lasso featuer when I click on Draw. I only have the colored pens, highlighter and eraser. Can you tell me why that's not the case. The tablet is brand new (11/2021) and I just downloaded Onenote. Thanks.
Thanks so much for this! Great help.
AWESOME. That makes my night that this was helpful for you!
Do you have videos for the samsung galaxy book 2 360?
We will have videos of the galaxy book 3 360 in the next 3 weeks
SHORT, CRISP & AWESOME VIDEO THANKS SIR 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you this has been very helpful. When I stop my S-Pen and go to the Insert Tab, but using my pen to move through the various "menus"/"options", it automatically defaults back to the "drawing" mode. What am I doing wrong?
Go into your settings and turn off the setting where it saids hover to ink.
Great video. I do want to know if on Onenote for Android can you convert handwritten notes to text? I seen on videos with ipad it has extra features I dont see here.
I was wondering the same thing so I went to their site and it says this "This feature is only available if you have a Microsoft 365 subscription. If you are a Microsoft 365 subscriber, make sure you have the latest version of Office."
@@tinas3768 I am a MS 365 subscriber and the feature for Android is still not available, at least I can't seem to figure and it even though I am logged in to my 365 account. I read somewhere else it's still not available for Android but it was a 3rd party site not an official quote. So who knows...if it doesn't do it seems I am stuck using Samsung Notes.
It is already available with samsung keyboard.

Great video. Thnx. I have a question regarding highlighting and adding handwritten comments to a typed text (not pdf). After you highlight a word like you did on the video - it will not stay attached to the word if you, say, move the textbox or add text that would push the word downwards. Is there a way of 'attaching' the pen written words and drawings to the wanted typed section?
if you would use the lasso tool and select both the type text and highlight, it would indeed move together.
I use the tab s7 plus too! Btw which one are you using, the tab s7 or s7 plus?
I beleive I have the S7, standard size.
great video man thank you so much helps so much. Keep doing what your doing man

I maybe missed it, but what type pen are you using? I have one for a Surface Go and wonder if that will work on a Tab A 10.1
I am using the S - Pen. And I am pretty sure the surface pens do not work with the Samsung Tablets. But I believe the tabs come with the pens included.
@@bodendorfer Thank you. Unfortunately, my my Tab A 10.1 didn't come with a pen, which is the reason I was considering getting batteries for my Surface pen. I will check out the S - Pen.

I think it's a non supporterd format
No, you have to use multiwindow for that
I wish samsung one notes had the same version as the apple one note.
I agree with you on this. The Android version is a little behind. But I think we will see some updates now that android apps are going to be able to be used on Windows.

could onenote or samsung note dictating speech to text? I found some old youtube video(without subtitles) that I would like to get its transcripts. Is that possible? Thank
Hello Brandon, Does this S-Pen on Galaxy tab has the cursor hovering feature for the ONE NOTE app, as it has on surface pro. I need it for hovering the cursor on the screen as a pointer while screen sharing with other people along with writing on the screen as needed. Please see and if it does, please upload a clip. I currently use the surface pro, but it gets too hot. So I want to try different tablets that support digital pens.
Please note, I am a heavy user of the one note app and I have to use only the one-note app for my online instruction work, so which model of Galaxy tab you suggest so that there is no lag in writing/hovering the pointer while online sharing the screen with other users.
It does have the cursor on the screen as you show the pen over the notes.

Hi How do you set the pen up to write without moving the page around with my palm when writing. I have a Tab 7. How to move onto pen mode? Hope you can help :-(
Are you in onenote, on the device? Make sure that you have the pen tool enable and disable draw with finger. that should help.
Why use onenote when you have samsung notes app which has great features. I honestly had the best note taking experience in that application.
Probably the biggest reason. Samsung notes doesn't sync with Apple or most windows syncs. If you are into serious note taking more users want to be able to access their notes on other devices.
@@bodendorfer But one note on android devices has poor quality and features. Im a medical student and I take notes aggressively on my samsung tablet, it's been 2 years and its been great. I used all android handwriting apps except good notes and I think samsung notes is incredible. I still have 1tb expandable memory card option. If you need to sync it on Microsoft devices you can convert your notes into pdf format and share it easily.
@@asheralbert1573 Quick question for you - do you have any fast and convenient way to convert many notes to pdf all at once? It seems very tedious to do so one at time if you want to export to view on your desktop computer. That's what I like onenote for
@@scotteckart1401 I luckily came across a new note taking app "touch notes". It has made my medical student life too comfortable and easy. It has all the features every student needs. But it needs decent device to work without any lags. Hope you find the answer to your question on this app.
My tablet is 15 y.o. I hacked a new system there. It doesn't open adobe pdf reader, however, it opens OneNote. It's not the greatest, it's the most accessible!
I have a big problem and don't know how to solve it. I used to use SwiftKey for typing, but switched to the Samsung onscreen keyboard to be able to use the s pen to text feature. However, the behaviour of the Samsung keyboard is strange. Whenever I start typing it masks the page that I am typing on so I am typing blind. I can't see anything
Can we add font to it in tab
Great info!!
Does OneNote still work on Android tablets? Didn't Microsoft remove all Office apps from the Play Store?

When you share with with a regular PC user, how does the hand writting font transfer to a desktop?
It transfers as a digital handwritten note. On the desktop app you can convert the font to text.
What about "writing converted into text" - enjoyable and informative!

How can I synchronize one note on different devices?
You can sync with OneNote across difference devices that you share the same onenote account with. You can log into 10 devices and setting your notes across.

while moving images in one note there is problem. most of the times images does not move. Is there any solution for it?
Are you able to select the image with the lasso? If so then you should be able to move. Or when you tap on the image does it appear with handles? One thing you might have done is set the image as a background.

David, I want to answer your question here but I am not sure I totally understand what you are asking. Can you ask again?
@Branden Bodendorfer I bought it to use with my surface pro and one note app. I was surprised I can't just download it and use it. Your site says I have to use options 3 for installation after I purchased. Since I don't have a desktop it would be nice if it was a onenote add-on or something simpler so I don't have the delay. I'm sure there is some business reason but still inconvenient. if I'm missing understanding please let me know.

Hello??? No mention of the superior Samsung Notes?? I SEE IT ON UR HOME SCREEN PAL
Well the title of the video is Digital notetaking using Onenote. As for Samsung Notes, probably a great application if you soley use Samsung products, however I like many people have a mix bag of tech, from Windows, andriod to apple devices. I am not going to limit myself to one os notes system.
Lol... I just noticed this was not the samsung notes. 😳
Wow I'm so happy I bought an iPad Air instead after watching this. The OneNote app on iOS is 100 times better than on Android. Still only a stroke eraser?... Shocking!
P.S. I'm no Apple fan boy, the opposite is probably true.
Same here. The Tab is great. But Onenote lets the tab down. It's useless on this Tab. Samsung Notes is better. Also a lesser known app...Write. Else go for the iPad
Why don't use the Samsung notes app instead? No hate, just curious
Biggest reason is simply due to the fact, that I can't sync my notes across other platforms.
Great but remove the background sound
Totally have done that! No background music in any of the recent video uploads.
Start video from 2.30. before this there's only bullshit
pro tip... someone people like to get to know whom is storytelling. Others want the goods.
Clickbait, video reported. Be honest in your titles... this was a video 100% on digital planning, it really has nothing to do with note-taking... very different skill. You know the market for videos on general note-taking is large and not so much for planning in a calendar so you only mentioned note-taking in your title.
Do you not use these tools, pen, lasso, highlight, when you take notes? Many people today are looking to learn how to plan and take notes. The tools are the same in OneNote on the Samsung device. What tools do you use for note-taking that were not covered?
@@bodendorfer Are you kidding me, you are comparing the very structured limited use of a calendar to the open world of one note. The list of things on the multiple tabs is too extensive to list. If so many people are interested in the case use you focused on, why did you not use that in the title?
Just for starters though, go to the insert tab and pull some things in from each of the options. Then, spend a little time tinkering with the options of what you can do after you pull those items into one note... this is 50-60 things that one might use in note-taking, but not really part of setting up a calendar. I get it, you a small creator trying to build an audience and work the logarithm to gain relevance, but as a user of the platform, the blatant clickbait is a real cancer.
Dude - I think you should become your own creator. If you have all the answers, please help others. The goal of the platform is to contribute to the well being of others. As for the small talk, our channel might appear that way but it’s in the top 15% of all RUclips channels. I would encourage you to take your motivation and invest in an opportunity that will create a return for you.
@@bodendorfer It isn't helpful to have misleading titles, it wastes people's time, but get you a view count and some tome added until they figure out the topic of the title is not going to be covered. I don't claim to have all the answers, just trying to share my perspective as a user my frustration with creators who mislabel their work. I'm sure it is accidental at times, but the great majority of the time it is because the create understands the need to market his videos properly to gain the biggest audience. I'm not a creator, may or may not ever be one, but I am a large user of the platform, especially in the skill acquisition and productivity area... I'm sure you can understand the frustration with videos that go far off the mark with their title vs content.
