  • Michael had literally been to dozens of doctors and made ten emergency room trips over the course of 10 months and had to quit his job.
His symptoms of shortness of breath, headaches, acid reflux, fatigue, and brain fog didn't permit him to continue his job, which required him to be strong and mentally acute.
His hiatal hernia was diagnosed by endoscopy, but he was assured it couldn't possible be creating his shortness of breath, chest pain and brain fog. He was diagnosed with anxiety and offered psychiatric medication.
Michael knew he "wasn't crazy" and the problem was in his body, not his brain. After dutifully trying antacid medications in every increasing doses, he finally found Root Cause on RUclips and is getting his life back.
His shortness of breath, acid reflux, brain fog and comprehension issues are dramatically improving.
He's excited to continue with dietary changes and exercises that are getting to the root of his condition.
Give a listen to hear his story. www.rootcausemedicalclinics.c...

We were on the same boat. After all the years of suffering heartburn, chest pain, high blood pressure. To the extent my primary doctor thought i am suffering from depression so she ordered me an anti-depressant medication which i am not compliant to take it because i know myself emotionally & physically. I know something is going on not just psychologically. After GI consult, found out today i also have hiatal hernia after doing Endoscopy today.

I wonder if my severe resistant hypertension is from Hiatel hernia? I was just diagnosed with this last month with hiatal hernia. I suffered for 10 yrs! No one figured out what was causing my epigastric pain for years. Multiple visits to the ER. Doctors told me it was “anxiety “ causing my hypertension, then sent me home. They treated me like I was a nut case, that I felt insulted. So glad that I found a good chiropractor in my local areas to discover this. My heart goes out to this man, as I know what he suffered. So happy for him that he is healed thanks to great healers like you.

Wow! His story is similar to mine! I’ve been to the ER 50+ times from 2011 on, with severe high blood pressure, which eventually caused a stroke. Doctors couldn’t find out the cause, but did find a 1 inch Hiatus Hernia in an CT scan; so they sent me home and said to see my PCP along with taking pharmaceuticals. Got to a point that I stopped going to MDs because I was tired of them treating me like an Anxiety nut case and lazy to find the cause. I suffer from severe acid reflux that I need to sleep on three pillows and now have EOE eosphillic Esophagitis. I don’t know how to heal and cannot find a chiropractor in my area that’s specialized in treating a Hiatal Hernia. So until then, I’m stuck with a Hiatal Hernia, EOE, acid reflux, and resistant hypertension.

I know exactly what he means, I've been suffering with mine for nearly 20 years. I've cut foods and drinks from my diet that caused the acid reflux, and heart burn, after fixing that issue, I lost the weight, and things seemed livable for several years, but in recent, body isnt getting any younger and things seem to be breaking down even harder, I run out of breath just from walking from one side of my house to the other, can't really do simple tasks as easly anymore without help, and just the recent issue that popped up, I can't really eat much anymore. My stomach will swell into my lungs causing even more difficulty to breathe, and sharp pains will start to pop up all around that area. I'm down to eating a very small meal once a day now. I don't even really feel hungry much anymore. I have to force myself to eat the small meal, just to keep my family happy.

I have a large hiatal hernia and have some of these symptoms. I avoid coffee and soft drinks and liquor. I have to eat smaller meals and get anxiety if I eat out because after eating I get lightheaded and semi dizzy for about a half hour. It has put a major halt in my socialite. Doctors answer is proton pump inhibitors, I.e. Prilosec, Protonix, etc., etc. They don’t work for me. I don’t get much heart burn, but get lots of belching and bloating.

I've been telling my docs for 5 years now that the anxiety seemed as if it was coming from something physical. And of course they just kept sending me to my psychiatrist. I KNEW it wasn't mental though.. & finally had it confirmed after begging my doc to check my hiatal hernia.. So they did a barium swallow which showed I have a Large non reducible hiatal hernia and severe spontaneous gastroesophageal reflux
to the thoracic inlet level. Thankfully I have an appointment with a surgeon coming up on the 10th. I can't wait to have all these symptoms resolve. I'm willing to bet I don't actually have copd.. I think it's from the hernia.. Because all the symptoms all began right around the same time.

Chest pain, belching, gastritis, constipation, back pain, abdominal pain, SOB, heart palpitations, depression. Nothing but a nightmare. All day, everyday. The anxiety and depression are horrible and can’t be stopped
I keep telling them it’s a vagal nerve dysfunction from hernia. They tell me nothing can be done, take some pills and see a shrink.
I give them all my money for nothing. Good luck to everyone with this problem

I’ve been having problems for about a year now. It started with shortness of breath after eating. First they tested me for COVId which came up negative. They sent me to a cardiologist and all was good. Then they said its probably gerd so I started taking ppi blockers which caused the food and acid to come up which helped the pressure and shortness of breath temporarily but food now comes up which never did before. I still have chest pains and shortness of breath. I’m getting a scope done in October to verify if I have a hernia. I’ve been struggling to figure out what’s going on so I feel this guy’s struggle.

Its crazy how many doctors are completely unaware of the link between GERD/Silent reflux and breathing. I have just gone through this and it felt like I was in hell so I want to share this to help
      others like me.
False dyspnea. When acid gets into your esophagus it constricts your lungs even if it doesnt hurt. ruclips.net/video/y89GoKfRRuA/видео.html
Pepsin. Pepsin gas comes up to your throat when your sphincters are weak. It lodges into the flesh in your ears, sinuses, throat and even lungs. the only way to inactivate it is with high ph water. Gargling/drinking with alkaline water several times a day will very quickly improve symptoms of throat pain. You can also carefully spray it in your nose while inhaling as well as in your mouth. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/22844861/
This facebook group has tons of info for almost everything you need to know about this condition facebook.com/refluxhelp/?ref=page_internal
Hiatal Hernia. This may be one of the main things that is causing all your problems.
My symptoms started 3 weeks ago and I started my diet and treatment plan 2 weeks ago which includes ppis for acid suppresion(as i had esophigitis) as well as the lifestyle/diet changes talked about in the facebook group. I have very slowly gotten better and my breathing has improved massively compared to 2 weeks ago.
All symptoms are different for everyone but in my case, I had constant shortness of breath, very hard time breathing in, burning pain in my chest, elevated heart rate, no appetite, chills, anxiety, throat pain, inflamed sinuses, and just generally feeling shitty. Some people may only have throat pain or even just shortness of breath with no other discernible symptoms.

@@katrinatorres2526 Its been 4 months now and my breathing is about 90-95% back to normal. I believe it was a combination of things which I still dont have fully under control.
First off anxiety is huge for breathing, when I have anxiety episodes I dont notice it but my whole chest seizes up and I start getting cracking sounds on my breastbone. I also feel more concious of my breathing and maybe try to breathe more than i should.
Second my sinuses and trachea are inflamed from acid coming up to my throat and nose, I still have inflammation in them after 4 months which makes my nose feel semi stuffy and my throat swollen.
Thirdly I probably had inflammation in my lungs possibly from aspirated food/stomach acid or perhaps something else.
My endoscopy showed mild gastritis and gastroparesis. Im also pretty certain I have GERD.

Can totally relate to everything this guys says..
In 2018 I started having heart palpitations then chest pains and shortness of breath.
Sent for heart tests and given a device to wear to monitor my heart which proved nothing other than my heart was functioning properly then sent for angiogram nothing from that apart from being told my heart was in tip top condition and finally concluded the reason was I was having panic attacks and stress disorder..
Prescribed ssri meds which I refused coz I know how dangerous they are and I just went ahead with life..
Used to wake up most nights in panic no real reason apart from the vagus nerve deciding I shouldn’t be allowed to sleep..
Just recently went to doctors with what I thought was a sore throat and turns out to be a sliding hiatus hernia which is causing me to gag and choke all the time and is making my life miserable..
Also diagnosed with barrats esophagus which up to now isn’t too bad but for me the hernia is a bigger problem as im used to being active and regularly went to kick boxing and went out cycling but now as soon as i move i start choking on this damned hernia as it slides up..😢
I dont think I’ve ever felt this miserable and even getting out of bed to go to work is an effort

Not the reason I went there. I just read over my CT results from that visit- it says Bochdalek hernia, blood in my urine, swollen ureter tube and lobular kidney. Never mentioned any of it. C.diff. I haven’t been able to work for twelve years and lost a music career just when I was about to go on tour. I was told I have a hiatal hernia in the past year and a half and they been trying to medicate me as well, I wont have it. Now, I have been diagnosed with mild dextro-scoliosis, when I never had it having gotten extensive scans of my spine and x-rays before. I feel like this hernia is causing my spinal instability. A slew of symptoms are being endured along with deficiency issues. So i feel so stuck, have had to do a tin or research to learn how to talk to these doctors who do nothing to help. Since I don’t want to take meds they are not really invested at all. I am glad someone is spared this anguish. I am in Pa, but would come to FL

hello please explain to me ... I did blood tests and heart ECG and everything is fine, I have symptoms: bloating, shortness of breath that lasts all day I have to breathe deeply to breathe I have heartburn, stomach acid for years I trained and worked hard work eating fatty foods and drinking energy drinks I wonder if there is a possibility of having a hernia? I sleep well without any problems and I eat well and ride a bike for many years, I noticed that I get tired, I've had all this for a year ...

I have a similar horror story about the medical merry go round. Multiple doctors no answers and the pc is useless except for my temperature and blood pressure. Dang I was diagnosed with many issues when I finally saw a neurologist who found I have anemia, 3 pinched nerves 1 in each section cervical, thoracic and lumbar, Neuromuscular Scoliosis ! What 😮 anxiety depression CPTSD, and MECFS. I was stunned as I had been to a dozen doctors spent a lot of hours and got jerked around. It really ignited my CPTSD I feel it every time now when I have to go to the doctor. I was pissed off that it was diagnosed 17 years ago by my doctor neighbor a prominent doctor, pediatrician. He only had a X-ray! No one has ever seen or paid attention when I told them. Multiple neurosurgeons 5, 1 Orthopedic surgeon, supposedly the best, multiple pcp two of who were the np and were verbally abusive! Dont see the np ! Of course I had to seek mental health treatment. It has robbed me of living for 17 years. The damn NP and the doctors and others from 11/19/2018 until today cuz they don’t read the prior documents they require you to have prior to a maybe visit. I offered extensive information and documentation they ignored it completely. 1 actually saying oh I don’t need that 😮. Just prior to Covid they wanted physical therapy and injections of which is well explained in the history as being unsuccessful. Physical therapy was out cuz I couldn’t do it physically. I earned a blackbelt in kickboxing just prior to the problem but they all assumed I was lazy and told me just walk for 10 or 15 minutes a day. I was doing that with my dog for a mile a day prior to 11/18 . Man I was extremely frustrated! Then came all the symptoms and bam that was over due to overwhelming anxiety and exhaustion. I am recovering from 2 of the 5 surgeries I needed and found a great doc. I am so ready for 3 and 4 being done in one day oh yes 2 surgeries were and are from carpal tunnel both right and left. I have a negative attitude hmmm I wonder why! More damage than good! But I have the right pc and neurosurgeon now so I’m eased for now. We need to gather all the patient stories 1 being from an actual neurosurgeon herself same situation different personal experiences pointing to the reason we allow them to treat us poorly. In Fl you cannot find a good doctor cuz now its effin connoisseur!
