🌴 So here we go ! 2024 , was the trout fishing expedition a bust or did ya catch something? , the new bike backer - sponsor, could take you places 🤣, I’ve been waiting to see ya take the Jon boat out , ( my project nano skiff keeps getting put on hold , rain , cold weather the fiberglass can’t kick off ) gonna have to get a heater, well at least ya got a largemouth to hit ( even if it wasn’t on a fly rod ) just picked up a cheap Hurricane - Redbone , 9’ft-8wt , 2pc graphite for $20 bucks at the flea market , a new boat and camera 😳
@@Eric.Estrada thanks man! I live right next to the Lake Ida canal and am striking out big time. I’m from up north so still trying to figure it out. Mostly throwing paddle tails and spinner baits. Might break out the fly rod this week.
@@tomf9292 peacock bass will rarely eat either one of those lures. The weather the past 5-6 weeks has also shut down most of the bite from any of the tropical fish that don't like the cold water temps. With those lures, you're likely going to only catch bass, and maybe tarpon if you happen to pass it right by their face. I know specific spots they hang out so I've had some luck. but if you don't know their exact hideout it will be tough to get a tarpon right now. For peacock bass, use small bucktail jigs. or try to find a crappie jig that has a strong hook. that''ll be your best bet for peas on spin.
Thanks for the video, these cold fronts are not helping. Saw some hold overs rolling in a basin canal I fish and got no love from them on the fly. 65 right now in Cape Coral, not conducive to tarpon fishing, spillways are running, no bait or snook either. Cheers
yeah, it's been crazy slow for tarpon. I've had some success but slow rolling the lure or slow dragging a fly to get a bite. They surely aren't very active, but at the end of the day they do have to eat. just gotta figure out the missing pieces to the puzzle. haha
Looking forward to 24 Erik, i enjoy your fly tying videos. Be good to see how the new bike works out for you

That bike looks sick!!
thanks man, it's been a blast zipping around town the past few weeks. I am excited to put it to work here soon!
Hey Eric, new sub here. I’m new to Boynton beach. Any ideas for fishing in the area? Thx
Welcome! any canal that leads to Lake Ida should have peacock bass and clownknife fish. Look for moving water if you want to find tarpon.
