My decade was the 60's. So much of what you are pulling out is so 60's! Yay! Such a fun video. Fashion consistently recycles with tiny variations, lol. Also what 30 year olds were wearing in y2k and what teenagers were wearing in y2k could be rather different. Great video. You looked great most all of them. Platforms were very 60's-70's and I am excited they are coming back. I'm short lol
A lot of the ‘90’s and early 2000’s fashion was inspired by the 60’s and 70’s. The 90’s was basically a 60-70’s revival, the music of those decades became popular again and all the fashion. But there were also additional types of fashion like grunge and raver’s which were their own thing. I was a grunge girl who loved the ‘70’s so I was all into the music and clothes of the 70’s plus I loved Pearl Jam and Soundgarden!
I wore those spikey rubber earrings around the 2010s too! I'm 22 and so was I'm junior high and highschool between 2011-2018 and tbh I wore a lot of the same stuff. The trend cycle is just SO rapid now and there are so many trends rather than 1 overall trend so it feels like all our previous styles are all coming back again all at once.

Let’s be real. Trends aren’t made by high schoolers. It’s the twenty and thirty somethings that make the trends. So yeah, it’s quite possible you didn’t wear these in High School, cuz you would just wear whatever your mom bought or what was cheap and sort of looked cool or what you saw Betty from around the block wear.
Class of 99 here. The white shirt would’ve been patterned and worn with jeans. Kind of like a ‘peasant top’. The bell sleeves, yes. And only button 3 top buttons and leave the bottom open. I wore chunky loafers constantly. Sweaters had to have a stripe across the front. Full length. If they were sleeveless, with a collared shirt under. Band tshirts! Bush. Nirvana. Grateful Dead. Jewelry was on cords or hemp. Peace signs. Yin yang. Smiley faces. I did scrunchies. They were that waffle fabric. Or velour. And also clips. I always had both on me at all times. 😂 If scrunchie was in the hair the clip was on the bottom of my shirt. Trying to think of what else. Oh the sunglasses were wire rimmed and colored lenses.

I wrote a big research paper this semester for my media and pop culture class on low-rise jeans and how they ultimately left a negative lasting impact on women. (I was born in 2002, so I wasn't really a part of the craze.) I don't like to think about the vile things I read that were said about women's bodies and how objectified teens were. did yall know JCPenney actually aired a commercial of a young girl's mother telling her she "can't go to school looking like that" and then the mom pulled the girl's pants down further?? I could go on and on but hopefully, this reaches someone who actually wants low-rise jeans back because trust me, you don't.
I am a 45 year old and was in my 20's during the 2000's. I absolutely loved low-rise. High waisted pants made me feel fat and like I had a large butt. But when low-rise came out I thought they complemented my body shape better.

The only people who would have the body the wear it are very slim flat stomach women and thats why its so problematic. And not any stomach but also with a very slim waist. It would cause another huge diet culture.
The purses I remember were the all sequined purses, and I was obsessed! I have a blue, green, and purple purse and the bottom there were these little black tassels. It was so sparkly and pretty! I had like 5 different sequin purses.

The green outfit is definitely stuff that people wear nowadays. Someone said it was a little bit TLC, and I think that's an important thing to note that people of different races dressed differently
A good portion of this video I was screaming "there was no one wearing high-rise". As a tween in the 00's we were absolutely scoffing at any pleated men's pants, a la 80's, which were still in circulation.
As someone who was also around in Y2K…I think it is much more party scene y2k …Erik made a great point about rage fashion. This is much more cyber/rager/skater/prep I definitely had outfits like the first two 😅 agreed the pants aren’t low enough. The purple pants were sooo cute.

I definitely had like baby blue tinted sunglasses with a tiny rhinestone flower on the corner of one lens. Also the rubbery spikey earrings, belts, the bracelets with liquid and glitter inside, roll on lipgloss and body glitter… ohhh the memories haha. Jelly bracelets, Converse hightops, flare jeans only.

I love that companies are trying to pass off random stuff as y2k cause young gen z's have no clue what was actually used or in style at the time. But I mean, companies will do this with any Era of fashion, so idk why I'm surprised 🤣
Okay so LITERALLY like pretty much most of our Gen-z fashion trends are just recycled old 'trends' from yeaaaaars ago. I can't lie so many old styles were iconic asf so it's always nice to see them trending again with extra flair. EDIT: OMG ALSO YOU SHOULD'VE LOOKED ON PINTEREST!!

I mean she doesn’t have to put things back in bags or boxes to return items to Amazon. I always just bring in the item. But also her spending her own money and you comparing it to others is not related. This comment ain’t it.
I disagree. By putting the items in these videos she is making money off of her purchases. It is wrong to purchase something, profit off that purchases, then just return the item to the company. The company would get no profit and only you would get the benefit.

Those flower jeans gave me hope, they were so close. They reminded me of these Lizzie McGuire jeans that I used to wear ALL THE TIME. The actual jeans you tried on in the video though were not it.... the picture made it look different, and I definitely could've seen the pictured ones as Y2K.

Oh how much I've missed this room. So glad Colleen still has videos from the old house prepared for us
Embarrassing but I’m sad about the move too! I loved their old house
love your content but buying fast fashion like this is extremely detrimental to the environment and is feeding into horrible working conditions for workers! Avoiding fast fashion companies and trends can be super easy too!! Try thrifting!
@@gabbiejohnson3 she buys from shein and gets packages from amazon every single day. i don’t think she cares

Y'all need to do the "My Family" music video with Flynn, the twins, and Jessicas new kids 😮😊
Can confirm: scrunchies were "out" by the time I got to junior high in Y2K, and I was pretty sad about it.
I'm short lol
although i grew up in the 2000's, I was thinking the same thing! i've noticed that fashion tends to repeat itself every forty years or so 😊
A lot of the ‘90’s and early 2000’s fashion was inspired by the 60’s and 70’s.
60 year olds watch colleen?
@@islaa.lovesss I was 60 10 years ago. In 1960 I was 8. And yes I follow Colleen
lol anyone catch that subtle jumpcut of Erik at 13:20
Target juniors right now if filled with y2k inspired fashion.
Leave a comment and tell me your favorite outfit! I kinda hated them all. ha! LOVE YOOOOU
Love you Queen!!!
LOVE YOU TOO
Watching now I'm excited to see then
I still own those studded belts
Love uuuu
I was in my late 20’s. It was grunge! I was also pregnant so big grunge clothes was awesome!

The belt and the earrings were the only things spot on 😆 the rest seemed inspired by Y2K but with a 2020 flair for sure
Queen Creeper
What's wrong with what she's done it's not bad compared to the so many people getting away with touching kids and jerking themselves off to kids
Her merch is 2-5$
?
Awwww man.....
So bummed to see you're not coming to Michigan! PLEASE try to make it if you can!
Omg those earrings bring back memories 😂
i really like the green blouse😭 it looks super pretty on you !!!!
I was in elementary school and middle school during the Y2K, the advertized low rise that ended up being obvious high rise is KILLING me!!! I really don't want low rise coming back though, I've always loved high waisted jeans DONT TAKE THEM FROM ME haha

Do you remember the necklaces with the tiny piece of rice with your name on it in the little glass balls? Somehow this video made them pop in my head! 😂
Yup. Had one made at the Mall of America lol.

I was 26 in 2000. My sister in law was in high school and these are mostly not it. I’m going to send her this video and see what she says. She did wear many of these elements but mostly no. The platform shoes resulted in a broken ankle and torn tendons for her. I can’t wait to see what she says.

Baby tees, low rise pants, chains, platform shoes, I agree with you on the glasses!

We did have those glasses! But they didn't have those sides. The sides were like gross thin wire! And then the HUGE tinted frame!! What a throwback 😂😂😂

I’m older than you, 40- and we DID wear bell bottoms in high school. The huge ones. But not everyone.
I would love to see a version of this video where you get all the stuff that YOU remember from that time & try them on!
I remember famous people wearing a lot of those. But regular people did not.
The green outfit gives me Lizzie McGuire movie vibes (the italian girl Isabella)!!

Yes definitely need a current video of the all the ACTUAL Y2K clothes we wore
My brother got me tickets to see you finally in Cincinnati!!! I’m so excited! See you then and loved this vid, but yeah we didn’t wear any of that in the 2000s lol
That green outfit is giving me “That so Raven” vibes!!!
This aged terribly
Totally weren’t y2k but my favourite was definitely the sunflower vest
The green outfit is so cute and looks so good on you! You should wear it again!!!

I love low rise jeans. I have a belly button piercing so it helps a lot

Lol we definitely had glasses like that and I remember my mom wearing similar ones 😂
More money than brains 🐱🌷
LOL true
3:34 THE VISCERAL FLASHBACK 😵💫
Does Amazon sponsor you?
Colleen you actually looked so cute in that last dress 💗
Do you return these items or just keep them? I know u said you’ll never wear it again
Listen, on the right person that green two piece outfit would be SO cute. Space buns and maybe some platform boots or sandals? A WIN.
As someone who was also around in Y2K…I think it is much more party scene y2k …Erik made a great point about rage fashion. This is much more cyber/rager/skater/prep
I definitely had outfits like the first two 😅 agreed the pants aren’t low enough. The purple pants were sooo cute.

So many memories! 😖😂 But great video! Loved the editing!
So glad 90’s style is back 😊
Y2k is 2000 to 2010. Not 90s. But yes 90s is back too lol
@@sararahtz8574I know
Curious early 90s or late 90s because there was definitely a difference in style! I haven't seen late 90s come back
90s has been back since 2010. y2k is 2000s.
Check Target for the mid to late 90’s clothes
So excited for this video!!!
Was born in 91 so yes I tooo was actually alive in y2k lol and the earrings as Covid killed me. Those earrings were everything back in the day lmao

The purple pants are so cute but low rise would be more Y2K . I think the shirt with it is so cute
I have basically the exact same memories of Y2K fashion that you do. I would go “uh no, that wasn’t a thing” and “OMG YES” at the exact same time
I definitely had those black platform sandals 😂😂

Love this!! Half of now-a-days outfits say its y2k but it's defiantly not!! I think the more colorful outfits give coconut girl with a sprinkle of y2k! Love ya! 💖
I love that companies are trying to pass off random stuff as y2k cause young gen z's have no clue what was actually used or in style at the time. But I mean, companies will do this with any Era of fashion, so idk why I'm surprised 🤣
Okay but Erik is our fashion king.

3rd outfit is sooo Y2K and very cute on you and very much your style
Colleen in each one of these outfits were actually so cute! ❤
Girl you have no idea how much I need to dissociate to this right now.
that shear white shirt was totally something MK and Ashley would wear in the early 00’s. and that flower bag needed neon flowers on it to be Y2K

I can’t believe I grew up in this era.
Lol I'm an 80s baby 1984 to be exact and I've never stopped wearing scrunchies have one around my wrist right now
we need a part 2 where you try on clothes that you actually saw/wore in school!!❤️
Please wear the clothes you buy, it’s so so wasteful not to
Omg the lipgloss was everything for me when I was little! I had tons of them and I used to try and taste them because I was so curious
This hasn't aged well. Oye
Oh yeah! I still have some VERY cute barrettes and butterfly and flower clips from 2000! I cherish them to this day!
I hope she returns items that she doesn't like... the way she rips the bags and breaks down the boxes when she gets all of her other packages i get the feeling she doesn't bother to return anything ...
She doesn’t. I. The old house she had a whole room dedicated towards Amazon purchases and other hoarded junk. She won’t even donate them
@@katherine7444 What a waste of money! people are struggling to pay their utility bills and feed themselves yet she spends and spends and spends! it is vulgar! she cried and cried about moving to this massive house when there was a little boy that died due to mould in a rented flat in the UK... the same day she was crying about that i was told my Dad had a couple of months to live! I have got an Amazon return to do tomorrow and it is only 12 British pounds but that will pay for a couple of days food for me! Those clothes she bought were vile and i bet that haul cost enough to feed a family for Christmas dinner yet it will just sit there gathering dust! i am appalled!
Oh there's no way she does. These videos are so wasteful, and they're such an unoriginal, uninspired idea. Especially when she buys things that she already knows she doesn't like/don't fit the theme. They're lazy money grabs.
These looks are straight up what our Barbies, Bratz and tv shows wore.
Love your content! Hope everyone is well ❤❤

Hola! Soy Dora!!
I was in elementary school in the early to mid 2000's, but it's still weird to see teens and young adults wearing things that I wore when I was 10.
Everything looks so good on herrrrr!!!!!! Colleen you have to wear it more !!!
well this aged terribly
scrunchies just remind me of gymnastics because the leotards usually came with a matching one and it takes me backkk
I really enjoyed this video. I think you should do more fashion videos! And I love how you brought Eric in for a second opinion. So fun!
