All of those additions and Thamesmead still doesn't have a rail connection. 🤣
thamesmead has been sentenced to car hell
Thamesmead is a sh*thole
Hell yeah, as a Londoner I would love to see all this come to fruition. The only thing is about Tower Gateway though, that station is rapidly heading towards complete closure as barely anyone uses it. I think it was only originally built as a compromise and to keep the costs of the DLR low, but now that the DLR has a lot of use and expansion it got a connection to Bank which is now the overwhelmingly more popular terminus. I've seen few people talking about expanding the DLR further into the City and I would much rather see that than money being wasted on connecting it into Tower Hill.
Also Crossrail 3 line does already exist but seeing it integrated into TFL would be very nice, my parents live in Bedford so it would make getting home a lot cheaper hopefully.
Good to know about tower hill. And yeah Crossrail 3's point in this is just to bring over a Thameslink line fully integrated into the network and with high frequency.
Jago Hazzard has made a video (recommended) about the future of Tower Gateway. One of the main factors is the upcoming expansion of Fenchurch Street station, which will mean the closure of Tower Gateway and, most likely, a replacement DLR station at Tower Hill as suggested by Alexander Rotmensz.
A couple of problems:
-the whole of Thameslink should be transferred to tfl.
-your crossrail 4 wouldn’t work, as the section of the central line it parallels is not that busy really, the section in the south closely parallels both the bakerloo line and thameslink, and you could just extend crossrail 2 to get to stanstead.
-your extension of the northern line and others over national rail alignments wouldn’t work because trains need to travel further along those alignments to go to places outside London. New overground lines would work though.
-the victoria line could maybe be extended after crossrail 2 but not as far as you have shown because of just how busy it is
-you should probably do something with the northern city line.
TfL is for London. Thameslink goes all the way from Peterborough to Brighton. TfL is too London-biased to run Thameslink.
@@BCrossing TfL’s scope needs to be expanded. It should control all of the commuter services. I know money is an issue, but it should be government funded.
@@anoniaino That's alright, as long as you can find some way to make sure that Peterborough and Brighton are properly represented by TfL (not just London). And at that point it just becomes transport for England... We already have Network Rail, DfT, GBR (soon).
Maybe TfL should run services like St Albans to Sutton/Wimbledon and Luton to Dartford , while Thameslink still does Bedford to Brighton and Peterborough to Horsham
Could you do one for Boston?
And later on, one for Miami and one for Detroit?
Thanx. ☺️
Why would the met line terminate at Watford high street?😂😂 surely it would go to Watford junction?
Yes haha that's what I meant
I got lost just after crossrail 2 in the video. So many lines. I feel for the person that would have to make this easier to read for commuters. Care to share the google map?
I think I forgot something...
If you forget, then it wasn't important.
Yeah you're right.
*Thamesmead*
Lmao my b
Your crossrail 3 is useless I think. That exact route already exists as part of the thameslink network.
yes but thameslink is infrequent and not fully integrated into tfl. So it's essentially just transferring one of the routes to tfl with high frequency
30,000 steps is crazy
Bruh, I do 40,000 on a typical 12 hour work day (i work about 2-3 days a week for 12 hours)
@@fdgjffh1963erm, what the flip
Do one for New York City?
And Thamesmead remains unconnected.
Do you have a link to the my maps file for this transit map? Would be cool to use a copy of it as a base for my own suped-up version.
Imagine if EMR stopped in Watford, rather then the end of the line at St Pan would be interesting to to take a Tube in london from Watford.
That background music sounds like Blues Clues.
Does the Croxley link at least leave a shuttle service to Watford Met in your version?
Also better to take it to Watford Junction as the High Street staton doesn't really have space for terminating services, especially if you are taking the Bakerloo up thereas well.
The current plan, currently on hold, is to divert Met trains onto the former Croxley Green branch and onward to Watford Junction via Watford High Street. A new station would be built to serve Watford General Hospital. The stub between Croxley and Watford would be abandoned. There's plenty of info about this on the web.
crossrail 3 ideal is impossible
Crayonista !!!
Nice, could you share the maps link?
Do one for Washington DC or Toronto please
Great video and really good content, I would lose/change the music though as it becomes hard to engage with your content. Keep going though, I'm sure you'll go far on RUclips 👍
Understood. And thank you. I also gotta speak up quite a bit but I had to record this in a library!
Very nice! (In before hundreds of Brits commenting on How This Would Never Work Because.)
the rock type!
On that point, with modern tunneling techniques, the rock type in South London is not nearly the barrier to construction that it was in the 1800s or 1900s.@@alexanderrotmensz
